What do you like best about OpenProj?

OpenProjects has excellent support documentation which explains most of the features and how they are best used. In addition, the few times I have needed support, their team was more than responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenProj?

The AJAX interface is a bit clunky. I understand that it made fields easier to edit, but in reality, I can click and change items faster than the server responses; this often causes me to loose work as the saving fails. Minor detail that can easily be worked around but is still frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering OpenProj:

Spend time planning out your installation. You need to understand what data and reporting structure you want before you set up the tool. Once set up, it is challenging to make changes. Understand the limitations of logging time and units and how categories and different tasks can affect budget reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenProj solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have used OpenProject to handle developer workloads milestone planning, and the flexible "units" tracking has allowed us to record 3rd party costs directly into the PM tool. Our reporting is accurate and easily kept current. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
