"Seamless Survey-to-Contact Tracking That Streamlines Subscriber Feedback"
4/5
What do you like best about Odoo Survey?

Honestly, what clicks for me with Odoo Survey is how smoothly it fits right into everything I’m already doing for Fresh Bite Food Co. Most days I’m neck-deep building email campaigns, sorting subscriber lists, and lining up newsletters for new menu drops or limited seasonal items. Before we started leaning on Odoo Survey, if I wanted to grab feedback from our email subscribers, I had to piece things together with separate tools. I’d build a survey somewhere else, copy the link, drop it into my EasySendy Pro emails, then wait for responses to roll in. After that, I’d manually match those answers back to our subscriber info, and it was such a tedious back-and-forth. It ate up so much time I should’ve spent tweaking email copy or testing promo subject lines.

What I really dig is that it lives inside the same Odoo ecosystem we already use to keep track of our customer contacts. I don’t have to jump between half a dozen tabs just to tie survey replies to the people on our email list. A few weeks back, we were getting ready to launch our new cold brew line, and I needed to figure out what flavors our audience cared about most. I built a short survey directly in Odoo Survey, asking folks which profile they’d be most excited to try, plus a quick open box for extra thoughts. Then I embedded that survey link into a teaser email I put together in EasySendy Pro and sent it out to a segmented group of our repeat newsletter subscribers.

As replies started coming in, each response automatically linked to the existing contact record. I could see right away which subscribers had taken the survey, what they picked, and whether they’d opened previous emails about our beverage lineup. That context is gold for my work. I didn’t just get a bunch of generic votes; I could see preferences tied to people who regularly engage with our brand. We ended up prioritizing the vanilla cold brew, which had way more positive notes than we expected, and we tailored the follow-up promo email around that pick. It made that whole launch feel way less like a guess.

I also appreciate how flexible the question building is. I don’t need anything overly fancy, just simple multiple choice, ranking fields and short text boxes. I can knock a survey out in ten minutes between scheduling newsletter sends and cleaning up my audience segments. It’s not bloated with features meant for huge market research firms. It’s straightforward and built to work for a small team like ours.

Once the survey closes, pulling the results is simple too. The built-in reports break down the response rates clearly, and I can pull quick takeaways to share with our product lead. It doesn’t force me to build complicated dashboards just to spot obvious trends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Odoo Survey?

Don’t get me wrong, Odoo Survey works fine for the quick subscriber feedback we run ahead of menu launches, but there are a bunch of small annoyances that add up fast when I’m juggling email campaigns for Fresh Bite Food Co. The biggest one for me is how clunky the styling and email embedding setup is. I build nearly all of our campaign visuals and layouts with our brand colors for our food and beverage promos, and the survey page itself is really limited when it comes to customizing the look. A couple weeks ago, I put together a survey for our new seasonal smoothie lineup. I wanted the page to match the bright, playful style we use in our EasySendy Pro newsletters. I tried swapping fonts, adjusting button colors and adding our logo properly, but the theme controls are rigid. A few elements just wouldn’t update, so the survey landing page looked totally mismatched next to the email that linked to it. It didn’t ruin the test, but it felt unpolished for our subscribers.

Then there’s the filtering for survey results. Since I’m the Email Marketing Coordinator, I often want to slice feedback based on subscriber groups. Like separating responses from our weekly newsletter fans versus people who only open our limited-drop promos. Odoo lets you see individual contact records attached to replies, but there’s no simple one-click filter to pull only a specific segment’s answers. That same smoothie survey had replies from dozens of subscribers, and I had to manually go through each entry, check their tag, and copy the relevant comments into a separate doc. That took way longer than I planned, and I was already rushing to lock in the follow-up campaign copy before our send window closed.

I also hate how the notification logic works. When someone submits a response, the default alert is super generic. I can’t set up tailored auto-replies that fit our brand voice. Normally after a subscriber fills out a survey, I’d love to send a quick thank-you note that teases our upcoming menu drop. But the built-in confirmation email is bland and you can’t tweak much of the messaging. I ended up having to build a separate automation outside Odoo to handle those thank-you messages, which added another moving part to keep track of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
