Payroll processing is a breeze, along with most other functions is has to offer! If help is needed, their reps are just an email away and respond very quickly!

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Reporting can be a tad confusing for me, but it offers almost any stats you would need to reference.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assisting with payroll taxes is very helpful!

Although it is lower cost than most it does offer really good data collection which can benefit small businesses greatly.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

This is a lite version if most off the shelf HR core systems so it lacks some compliance level reporting. Customized fields can be tricky.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows for collection of employee data and employee self-service.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

The format and design make for the perfect interface. Employee information and the ability to navigate across the platform make it really user-friendly. We use Namely for HRIS and Payroll and it has become a one-stop, go to for us.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

The Help search feature can be a little clunky and may require a lot of trial and error to get the answer you need - the flip side to that - the team is very helpful.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping information organized and accessible for both our admin team and our employees. The design of the platform lends itself to engagement and the "feed" on both the app and desktop design enable our team to see, celebrate and get to know their peers better.

It was an easy, informational tool that definitely helped us with our onboarding system.

I believe that has changed, but I didn't really like the advertisement of your birthday or anniversary

I am currently out of HR but Namely was a huge help in onboarding, payroll, time management etc.

That I had to stop working with my implementation team - they were the best!

Workflows to make the repetitive processes less time-consuming.  
Onboarding and offer letters to our standards.
Performance reviews were google docs prior to this year.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

For the end user, I love the clean, familiar look and feel of Namely.  For the administrative side, I love the customizable access that can be quickly and easily set up for a variety of access needs.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

I have been a little frustrated with the integration of the Namely Time module and the Namely HRIS. Our company has both hourly and salaried employees and balancing the time/PTO/holiday setup for both groups has been a little more challenging than my overall experience with the HRIS.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, the Onboarding flow for new employees is exponentially better/easier/more complete than the system we were previously using.  The "Checklists" function is improving our consistency with repetitive processes (promotions, terminations, salary changes).

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Namely continues to impress us with their approach to continuous improvements. They listen to our thoughts and provide realistic expectations of the next steps.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

One of the challenges with Namely is the reporting feature. We recently began an internal audit for a SOC-2 and one of the requests was a report out of Namely. While it is currently not available, the reporting feature is something on the current roadmap and we are excited about the enhancements.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned above, we are looking for the ability to pull more robust reports out of Namely. Our client rep spoke with me a couple of weeks ago and shared that this is a priority for Namely.

I like that Namely is a comprehensive HRIS system. It offers a great HRIS system, reporting,  integrated payroll, onboarding, performance reviews and compliance. It's hard to find a comprehensive HR system that is integrated and affordable. The ticketing system allows for quick responses, should any issues arise.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

I think that there a few things that Namely can enhance. One is the performance review system. It's a bit bulky and could be flexible and easier to build from a client's perspective. Additionally, if there were better performance management reporting to include who hasn't completed a certain phase of the review process. Also the integration with other systems could be enhanced.

It is a little confusing regarding the payroll taxes, when papers are sent to me as to if I should forward on or not.

My problems are small everyday problems, nothing major at this time.

Very easy to use as an HRIS. Customer service has come a long way. When we first started using Namely, CS was terrible. Very helpful now. Much more user-friendly than ADP.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

We have a lot of issues when we run additional payrolls (bonus) and at tax time. Customer service reps seem to not all be on the same page. We get different answers to the same questions and it is very frustrating.

Namely is helping us solve the issue of effiency. Before Namely, updating employee information was a chore. I love how it has automated our onboarding process.  We have also been able to integrate other technology platforms with Namely.

Namely offers a lot of functionality with a high level of customization. The reporting and analytics feature is excellent for tracking HR reporting. It integrates well with our ATS system, ensuring our candidate cycle is fully captured and transferred when hired.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

The initial assimilation into the platform takes a little longer, especially while setting up the system with access roles for teams within the organization. It takes a bit of practice, but it gets easier once you figure out the settings and its visibility.

Namely helps manage all the HR processes in a single platform. We have benefitted from aligning our performance management, goal-setting and automating other promotion and salary adjustment processes.

I find Namely to be very easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Sometimes questions regarding tax issues take more time than I would like for a response. There is a disclaimer that due to the pandemic, these items are not turned around very quickly. I would love to see at least weekly updates, even if it just says we are still working on it.

Reporting is very easy in Namely, which saves me a lot of time when questions arise. This gives me time to focus on other areas of my job.

It was easy to navigate and use as a place to find all information I needed as a employee- HR, payroll, PTO, were all very well-functioning parts of this site. Competitors have a bit of a simplified platform.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

I think that Namly had a user interface that was overwhelming if you were an employee who only needed to access it for a few things- the site could be designed with the user in mind-  a manager view, a employee view, etc.

It solved the problem of finding out payroll, requesting time off and accessing any HR paperwork or information without having to request it from someone in our internal HR team.

Since I received a new account team, the benefits admin team has fallen off drastically.

Lack of integrations, difficulty in set up. The biggest issue is the amount of labor on our end with setup.

I like that it is easy to use and web-based.             I likw  Workflows.  Time off requests. Analytics.   PTO Accruals.  Reporting.  Payroll. Payroll reporting.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

I don't like that some things don't flow to payroll.  For example, PTO does not flow to payroll.   I would like better audits of benefits vs deductions.  I would like a better connection with COBRA when terminations happen.

**Recommendations to others considering Namely:**

It is really easy to use.  I love that it is completely web-based.   The Help community with a ticket system has really helped me get the support I need quickly and easily.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am trying to audit PTO in an easier way and I would LOOOOVE PTO to flow to payroll.  Our employees use time cards and PTO needs to be recorded on their paystub.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Namely provides a helpful service as our Broker of Record and HRIS portal. The benefits consultants assigned to our account are easy to communicate with, respond in a timely manner and answer any questions the employer and employees might have.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Namely's timesheet application can often have time off (PTO and Sick Leave) accrual discrepancies that need to be updated annually by the HR department. HR ends up having to keep track of the accruals on an Excel Spreadsheet monthly.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Namely is currently helping me with termination issues/delays on the HRIS portal. Some terminated employees don't always successfully terminate in the system, but others do.

Namely had a great newsfeed section and helped employees stay engaged during a remote time frame. We also really loved the feature where we could impersonate an employee to help troubleshoot some items when issues occurred.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

We think the payroll section could have been a bit better when it came to registering for taxes. Also, the response time frame it would take to hear back from a Namely representative was pretty long and involved too many steps.

Namely was able to get us access to our account again to download all paystubs for our employees since we are no longer using Namely as our platform. This is a big help for our records.

The application is fairly intuitive and the reports are easy to manipulate.

A downside is there isn't an instant chat to resolve issues real-time - you have to submit a ticket and wait for a response.  Depending upon the department / area pf your issue resolution can be minutes / hours away OR days away due to difficulties in understanding the problem.

Namely is our HRIS and Payroll/tax system - allows us to have all our information in one system verses multiple applications.

Everything I need is in one place. As an individual contributor that works remotely, I often need an answer to a question about my benefits, my pay, etc. Namely removes the need to chase someone down over slack and then wait and then realize I have the wrong person, and then I need to ask someone else and wait. With Namely there's no waiting. I get what I need and move on.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

I would love for Namely to continue building out their mobile experience. It's easy enough for me to request time off in a few clicks, but if I need to dive deep into Namely I go to the desktop. No complaints, just something for the roadmap, perhaps!

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm an individual contributor, so my problems are specific to myself, as are the benefits. I have quick and easy access to everything I need regarding my benefits and compensation and save time and effort from not having to chase down a member of the HR team.

It's a really useful tool that provides everyone in the company a space to share news, praise, and access to all HR needs. I no longer need to remember who to email about requesting time off, or questions regarding pay. It's a one stop shop for anything I need to access regarding company policy, etc.

I honestly can't think of much I would change. It's a versatile tool and has been extremely useful.

I think it's an easy-to-use one-stop-shop for all your HR needs. I would definitely recommend Namely.

I am easily able to track new employees. We can share company news in one location.  I can access my paystubs and request time off/ work remote. It's been a great addition to the company.

The best part about Namely is how easy we can log in and appreciate coworkers. Also, the People section is easy to search and includes the Organization Chart. Compared to other programs I have used, Namely is easy to use!

In comparison to Cornerstone, I find setting goals with Namely can be challenging. Also, we plan to have mid-year reviews and I find Cornerstone to be easier to set up.

Since Covid, >95% of our employees work from home. Slowly we are returning to the office. Namely is the perfect tool to stay in touch with our People & celebrate birthdays, work anniversaries, new hires and appreciation for each other.

Namely has an excellent interface; it offers a social aspect for employees with the home page postings; it also provides more data and reporting options than the HRIS systems I've previously used. I also like that Namely was easy to implement. The user interface is also super friendly. Navigating as an admin is super straight forward, and it is also very easy to explain to our team how to use certain features. Post implementation, it has also been very easy to contact support for help.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

There is no dislike for the product. The hardest part about entering any new system is the implementation because there is a lot of information to capture, and it can be tedious. The one thing we had a slight issue with was figuring out if we should use Namely time or Timeseets. We ended up trying both, but going with the original plan. It was great to get the experience, but maybe if we had more information, we could have avoided the extra trial and error.

**Recommendations to others considering Namely:**

If you are looking for a more elevated HRIS platform that is more advanced, Namely is the way to go!

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One benefit of Namely is that we can get a well-rounded view of what makes up our company as far as demographics, and this will help with diversity initiatives. Another benefit of Namely is that you can view as the employee. It is tough trying to see what an employee is seeing in order to solve problems, so being able to seet he employee's view is super helpful! We also have a vast variety of timeoff plans, and Namely is able to capture all of them. In addition to that, we work with contractors, PEO employees, and folks all over the globe. To have a platform where everyone is visible, with different levels of access permissions is also super helpful as we are continuing to grow and scale as an organization.

Namely Provides a smooth and seamless experience when utilized for the purposes of Time Clocking. Allowing access for employees to clock-in, check, and edit their time cards to ensure accuracy. 

It too, provides total control for Leads and Supervisors to make adjustments should extenuating circumstances arise on a case-by-case basis.

The ability to edit one's own timecard with Time Off requests, vacation allocation, Sick time, etc is vitally useful and the ease of doing so is amazing. 

Namely houses all information you could possibly want/need for HR related items such as: W2's, Tax info, Direct Deposit set-up, Benefits Management.  All in one place.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Sometimes Routine Maintenance can prevent any access at all (which leads back to what is "liked" about Namely" it is constantly being kept up-to-date!)

Sometimes the time editing can be a bit tricky as you can only edit in "blocks" of time as opposed to minute-by-minute. But this is a small concern as there are methods implemented that allow to serve as a work-around for this.

**Recommendations to others considering Namely:**

Namely will certainly cover all of your needs; whether it is for HR, Time Clocking and tracking, benefits housing. All of your needs can be kept in one refined location for ease of access and use. Namely can be modified to any specific needs and tailored accordingly  if at all necessary.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All Pros and No cons as far as I can tell. Very interactive platform that is uniquely user friendly. Namely serves as a universal tool for both management and employees alike. Everything from sharing company knowledge such as New Hires and Birthdate reminders is such a perk and feels to bring the company as a whole closer together.

The only part of the platform that could be more user-friendly would be the User Access scoped permissions tab. The wording seems to have been over-simplified to a point where it's confusing. The layout could be greatly improved.

Payroll is super easy to navigate and we've been able to store all "paperwork" through E-Signature and a file upload profile field. Every aspect is learnable with little effort.

On-Boarding a new employee on-line has been a huge change for my department.  Also, using the insurance brokerage through Namely has been a tremendous asset for our whole staff.  
In addition, when submitting a case for help, the response is usually very fast.

Occasionally, I might miss a step when completing a process, and don't know what I have done wrong, but submitting a case always takes care of it.

We have streamlined our on-boarding, gotten rid of paper paystubs, and the employees are more empowered to look up their profiles & make changes as needed.

HRIS and payroll are separate systems...

**Recommendations to others considering Namely:**

Stay away from Namely. Your time and money are better spent elsewhere. I can't believe their ratings are so high...

1. There is close to zero support - their support teams direct you to articles that are very surface-level, whenever I do get someone on the phone, half the call is spent in silence because the agent does not know the answer. If they do happen to know the answer, it's an arbitrary fix on the backend. I have very little understanding on how I can self-serve and prevent these issues in the future. 
2. When putting out an update, it's very obvious that they do not do any QA. For example, there was a release to connect HRIS and Payroll fields (another huge issue) and some of our fields got messed up in the process - it was a whole extra process to audit and re-enter data that we already painstakingly steward. 
3. Performance cycles are a nightmare to manage. What should be a simple cycle, turns into a convoluted mess. Very inflexible, complicated, huge learning curve - I dread every cycle I launch. You'd be better off doing it through Google Forms...

Honestly, Namely creates more problems than it solves. There aren't any benefits you could find elsewhere.
