"Powerful and Flexible Backup Solution with Hyper-V, S3 Immutability, and Fast Restore"

4/5

What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

NAKIVO Backup & Replication offers a comprehensive feature set at an attractive price-performance ratio. I particularly like the support for Hyper-V, the flexible backup and retention options, and the integration of S3-compatible object storage with immutability as additional protection against ransomware. The web interface is clear, and the backup performance proved to be good in my tests. The technical support also helped with more complex questions and was able to provide solutions to specific problems. Overall, NAKIVO is a powerful and flexible backup solution that is well-suited for small and medium-sized IT environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

The biggest disadvantage for me is that technical support is only available in English. Especially with more complex technical questions, a German-speaking contact would be helpful. Additionally, some settings and relationships, particularly with Backup Copy, S3 Object Lock, and retention policies, are not always intuitive and sometimes require follow-up with support. Clearer documentation and a more understandable presentation of the dependencies between recovery points and backup chains would make setup and administration easier. What problems is NAKIVO Backup & Replication solving and how is that benefiting you?

NAKIVO allows us to centrally and reliably back up our virtual servers and quickly restore them in case of failure. Features like Flash Boot significantly ease regular restore tests, as virtual machines can be started directly from the backup in no time. This allows us to regularly verify the recoverability of our backups without having to wait for a full restore each time. Additionally, the flexible retention policies and support for S3-compatible object storage with immutability help us improve our backup strategy and better protect against ransomware and data loss. By combining local NAS backups with an external, immutable copy, we increase the resilience of our IT infrastructure with manageable administrative effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
