"Solid Audit Trails, Needs German Compliance Features"

What do you like best about MYOB?

What I value most about MYOB is its dependable audit trail and easy‑to‑use bank reconciliation. Every time someone edits an invoice or adjusts a ledger entry, it stamps the action with timestamps and the responsible user account, which is huge for our internal compliance checks. Back in Q2 month‑end close, we ran into a wrong vendor booking, and this log immediately showed us who’d made the change, so we didn’t waste hours hunting for the source of error. Junior accountants on our team can navigate daily booking workflows without endless coaching. It does not satisfy GoBD out‑of‑the‑box, but these traceability functions give us a good working foundation, which we supplement with our own manual compliance paperwork for German tax office requirements. What do you dislike about MYOB?

The biggest pain point is there are no native GoBD‑compliant export files the Finanzamt accepts. During our Q2 audit preparation, I could not generate the structured audit log exports German authorities demand, so our team had to build supporting documents by hand. HGB‑compliant balance sheet and P&L templates are also very limited; nearly all financial outputs need heavy manual reformatting. We also run into GDPR pitfalls when storing invoices containing personal party data. As a mid‑sized German accounting firm, we have no in‑house developers, so building custom fixes is impossible. I’d love proper GoBD‑validated exports and ready‑to‑use HGB reporting to shrink this extra compliance workload. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
