The fact that Muck Rack has the most up-to-date media database is the number one reason I prefer it over other SaaS competitors. I also appreciate the chat feature, which makes it easy to request media profile updates, as well as the automated coverage tracking that simplifies reporting. The cost feels quite high for an individual user like me, and not every journalist-published story pulls into a media person’s profile. It also seems like there are certain publications where Muck Rack consistently misses coverage. On top of that, when an older article gets updated by a publication, the system doesn’t update the publish date, which then forces me to make manual fixes in my reports. Sometimes when I search a journalist's name natively, nothing comes up, but when I search in Google, their Muck Rack profile appears in the results. There have also been several occasions where there are duplicate profiles for no apparent reason that I have to reconcile with support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
