This program requires or heavily encourages someone to have a Microsoft Outlook account, depending on whether it’s online use or off-line use. Sometimes people don’t need another email or need another account and that is Annoying. It is also expensive when purchased with the Microsoft outlook suite and unless you are in school and are provided with it for free, this is a major downside. Unlike Google Docs, Microsoft Word does not automatically save after every key stroke so if you do not save your document regularly, you can lose everything. The only real flaw I've noticed with Word is how cumbersome the insertion of images or tables can be. It's very easy for them to throw off the formatting of an entire document. Fortunately, as an author of fiction and poetry, I don't need to use those often, so it's usually not an issue for me. But if you're in another line of work, I can see how it might cause consistent problems.
