For me, it's all about getting the document to look exactly right and working with my team without headaches. When I need to put together a client proposal or an internal process guide, I know I can rely on Word's formatting tools to make it look polished and professional. The real game-changer is the collaboration. Having multiple people from my logistics team jump into the same document to edit a standard operating procedure, leave comments, and track changes saves us from the old nightmare of ten different email attachments. It just works, and everyone knows how to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it feels like there are too many options, and I end up clicking through menus to find the one specific setting I need, which can slow down simple tasks. Every now and then, the formatting acts a bit strange, especially if someone opens a file on a different version of Word or we convert it to a PDF, and I have to spend time fixing it. Also, while the online version is handy, it doesn't have all the features of the full desktop program I paid for, which can be limiting if I'm trying to work from another computer. For creating basic, good-looking documents as a team, it's perfect, but for anything that needs really complex design, I'd look at other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Microsoft Word has long been the go-to app on both Mac and PC platforms for written communication. Clients are always sending me files in MS Word and I am sending files back and no matter what platform we are working on, the files work the way they are supposed to. Because it's been around so many years, the way it works is very familiar and makes it very easy to work with and integrate into your work flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes when working cross platform, fonts can change even when you are using the same font on both platforms. This probably has more to do with working on multiple platforms, but it can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Microsoft Word is fairly user-friendly. If you have never used a computer type software to write an essay or something, this is the program that you want. It is easily downloadable and free and it will help with your spelling and proofreading. All of the function buttons are easily laid out at the top of the screen, and you don’t have to go looking for them, which is a waste of time if you do, but Microsoft Word does not make you do that. I can go on and on forever, but this is absolutely my favourite software For writing and probably one of my top 10 favourites in my life. I would highly recommend that if you do not have it that you acquire it. It is user-friendly and will not take you long to learn it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This program requires or heavily encourages someone to have a Microsoft Outlook account, depending on whether it’s online use or off-line use. Sometimes people don’t need another email or need another account and that is Annoying. It is also expensive when purchased with the Microsoft outlook suite and unless you are in school and are provided with it for free, this is a major downside. Unlike Google Docs, Microsoft Word does not automatically save after every key stroke so if you do not save your document regularly, you can lose everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate that this is the standardised app used worldwide as the default, despite the presence of many other options. Microsoft Word has been around much longer than its competitors, which gives it a strong position in the market. The introduction of additional features has been the cherry on top. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One aspect I dislike about Microsoft Word is the presence of numerous glitches that need improvement. For instance, whenever I attempt to adjust the header or footer, the entire document becomes disorganized, forcing me to start over and fix everything from the beginning. I hope this issue can be addressed, and the same thing happen while adjusting images inside word it's so frustrating Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Microsoft Word is tried and true, and packs all the features you could ever want in a word processor. As an author, I definitely prefer it to other similar products on the market. It's easy to use, an industry standard, and works well offline.
This review is incentivized by G2's offer of an Amazon gift card in exchange for the review of any software, but this incentive hasn't impacted my opinion of Word in the slightest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only real flaw I've noticed with Word is how cumbersome the insertion of images or tables can be. It's very easy for them to throw off the formatting of an entire document. Fortunately, as an author of fiction and poetry, I don't need to use those often, so it's usually not an issue for me. But if you're in another line of work, I can see how it might cause consistent problems.

This is a fantastic program that offers nearly everything you could want. I also appreciate that the document formats it uses have become standard, making it easy to open them in any other text editor I’ve tried. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To be honest, the price is the most important factor for me. I don’t actually need all the features that this program provides—I use a text editor daily, but only use spreadsheets from time to time. Since I have several laptops, including a very small and inexpensive one for travel, I was looking for a lightweight program for it, ideally something free. Because of this, I ended up having to give up MS Word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been a daily user of Microsoft Word for years, and it continues to be an essential part of my workflow. Its user-friendly interface and robust features make it my go-to for everything from drafting simple documents to creating complex reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest frustration with Word is the financial commitment required to use the full desktop version. While there are free, web-based versions available, the most powerful and feature-rich experience comes with a paid Microsoft 365 subscription. The fact that you have to pay a recurring annual fee for a suite of software that was once available as a one-time purchase can be a significant turn-off, especially for individual users who only need a few of the applications. It feels like you're being held hostage by a subscription model to access the full functionality of what has become the industry standard for document creation. Microsoft Word is one of the most versatile and user-friendly word processing tools available. I like how it combines simplicity for basic writing with powerful features for advanced formatting, collaboration, and professional document creation. The wide selection of templates, styles, and formatting options makes it easy to produce polished reports, resumes, or letters. Integration with OneDrive and Microsoft 365 allows seamless cloud saving and real-time collaboration with colleagues. It’s reliable, widely compatible, and a tool I can always count on for both personal and professional needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While highly capable, Microsoft Word can sometimes feel overwhelming for new users because of the large number of features hidden in different menus. The software can also be resource-intensive, especially when working with very large documents that include images or tables. Occasional formatting issues arise when sharing documents between different versions or devices. Additionally, the subscription cost for Microsoft 365 may not feel justified for users who only need Word’s basic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
