**What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?**

Native SharePoint workflows used to be very useful and convenient. Now Microsoft has shifted to Power Automate and other Power Platform tools, which you have to pay for. We used to be able to do much more with the native SharePoint workflows without any additional cost, but now it’s essentially the same capability under a new name—Power Automate—and you’re expected to pay for it. It feels like Microsoft started charging for something that was previously native to SharePoint.

**What problems is Microsoft SharePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SharePoint is not only helping us store information; it also helps us share, collaborate, and coordinate around that information. Features like document libraries, lists, etc. in SharePoint are very useful. They help us automate and digitize many of our processes without trouble. We can digitize and automate many of our day-to-day work processes without any knowledge of coding. As a result, it maximizes our output and makes our work more efficient.

**What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?**

I think Microsoft Sharepoint is easier to use than using the shared drives on the organizations computers. I find that being able to open share point via both program and browser gives you two options to access, in case something is faulty. I personally like that I can open share point in the web browser and find the interface easier and the performance is faster to use than using the microsoft apps.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?**

I do not like that the Microsoft Sharepoint homepage is hard to navigate to. I also dont like how you have to be an owner in a group sharepoint in order to edit documents uploaded to a group sharepoint.

**What problems is Microsoft SharePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is way easier to organize and visually see documents in sharepoint. Being able to use it on the phone if I am away from the computer is a good intergration, especially if the company is use all Microsoft 365. We can use them all at once.

**What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?**

It’s very easy to download files and share them across our organization. When I need to access something for training purposes, or to learn how to format specific communications or writing, anyone can highlight the relevant files and I can find them quickly. I can also share files for collaboration with team members who work in other locations or remotely, and I’m able to see their changes in real time.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?**

To be fair, I don’t like that I don’t have access to everything on SharePoint. Certain files and sections require specific permissions to view, and I sometimes can’t find the information I need because of that. It’s not really a SharePoint problem so much as a security/clearance issue. That said, I can see how this is a positive for organizations, since it helps limit who has access to what.

**What problems is Microsoft SharePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem it solves for me is not having to store even more files on my laptop’s hard drive. It also cuts down on the back-and-forth emails about specific files and documents. Overall, it makes it much easier for me to find what I’m looking for, especially when it comes to standard operating procedures.

What I like best about Microsoft SharePoint is how it keeps everything organized and accessible in one place, documents, team updates, and workflows, so collaboration feels smooth instead of chaotic. It makes sharing and working on files with others really easy, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem, and helps ensure everyone is always on the same page without endless email threads.

What I don’t like about Microsoft SharePoint is that it can feel a bit complex and unintuitive, especially for new users, navigation isn’t always straightforward, and finding files can sometimes be frustrating. It can make you feel restrictive if you’re used to simpler or more flexible tools.

Microsoft SharePoint solves problems like scattered files, poor version control, and inefficient team collaboration by bringing everything, documents, communication, and workflows into one centralized place. It ensures everyone is working on the latest version of a file and makes sharing and accessing information much easier within the Microsoft ecosystem. This benefits me by saving time, reducing confusion, and making teamwork more organized and efficient without relying on endless emails or manual file tracking.

**What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?**

It is a comprehensive collaboration platform that excels as a "single source of truth" through the seamless integration within the M365 ecosystem, particularly Power BI data sources and Teams-based file sharing. It allows for efficient version control as well as advanced permission settings that allow many individuals to edit documents simultaneously without compromising the integrity of the information. It saves me time every day, making it effortless to manage master files and share updates with the team instantly.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?**

The issue with the OneDrive sync utility is its reliability when dealing with large SharePoint document files. During the synchronisation process, I often encounter sync issues, such as "red X" errors, duplicate files, and conflicts.

**What problems is Microsoft SharePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my projects, SharePoint offers a solution to the issue of scattered data because it provides a centralised location where all data is stored in a single place or SharePoint folder.  There will be no need for sending out the Excel files to multiple users; instead, the master files will be used, which are connected to Power BI. Once the Manager makes changes in the monthly targets or adjustments in the SharePoint file, there is no need to re-run the code again, as the dashboard will refresh automatically with new updates. Overall, I can say it creates a seamless bridge between heavy SQL data and a human-managed spreadsheet, while the version history acts as a safety net to fix any accidental changes.

What I like most about Microsoft SharePoint is how it centralises document management and collaboration in one secure platform. It makes sharing files and working on documents with multiple team members seamless, while maintaining version control and access permissions. The integration with Microsoft 365 apps, like Teams and Outlook, is very convenient and helps streamline workflows. I also appreciate its flexibility — it can be customised to support different teams, projects, and business processes, making it a powerful tool for both collaboration and knowledge management.

One drawback of Microsoft SharePoint is that it can feel complex and unintuitive for new users, especially when navigating document libraries or setting up sites. Customisation is powerful but often requires significant time or technical knowledge, which can be a barrier for smaller teams without dedicated support. Search functionality can also be inconsistent at times, making it harder to quickly find the right files. Overall, while it’s very capable, there can be a learning curve and some setup effort to get the most out of the platform.

**What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?**

As a technical writer i like most about microsoft sharepoint is that it provides centraalized and reliable source for team owned documentation. I also appreciate sharepoint's versioning and lifecycle management. Having built in version history helps to ensure that everyone is working on the latest approved content while still keepinga record of past changes. It is really important for documentation that goes through reviews and approvals.
It is designed for shared ownership, not individual files like one drive. It makes the well suited for long term documentation such as user guides, policies, release features, and project deliverables that need multiple contributors. Stability and reliability for the long documentation is reallyup to the mark.While it may not feel as lightweight as local editor but it performs well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?**

Performance can vary depending on network condition which can interrupt focus when working with large files or long version histories. As a writers perspective, it is not very author friendly. It works as repository, but for active writing, reviewing or restructuring documentation the experience feels less intuitive compared to other documentation tools.
I also noticed that copilot responses are often high level and generic when working with large and structured documentation libraries.

Share point is really solved the problem of scattered and short lived documentation. Instead of important documentation living in personal drives or disappearing when someone leaves, sharepoint provides centralized, team owned repository for long term deliverables.
It also solved the version control problem. While working on the latest approved version share point maintain the history of changes for audits.

In my experience, Microsoft SharePoint is very useful for organizing and managing documents in a structured way, especially when working on design and documentation-related tasks. What I find helpful is how it keeps files, versions, and updates in one place, which makes it easier to track changes without confusion.

While working on documentation, I can store and access files without worrying about losing previous versions, and it supports better coordination when multiple people are involved. What stands out to me is how it brings clarity to file management, rather than having documents scattered across different locations.

Over time, I’ve also found it useful for maintaining consistency in how information is stored and shared, which reduces the effort needed to search or rework content. It fits well into my workflow where structured documentation and easy access are important.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?**

In my experience, one challenge with SharePoint is that it takes some time to get comfortable with how everything is structured, especially when working with multiple document libraries or folders. Initially, it can feel a bit confusing to navigate, particularly when trying to locate specific files quickly.

I’ve also noticed that managing permissions and access settings requires careful attention. If not set properly, it can either restrict access unnecessarily or make files visible to the wrong users, which needs to be handled cautiously.

In day-to-day work, it works well once everything is organized, but reaching that level of structure takes some effort in the beginning. A more intuitive setup process would make it easier, especially for new users.

In my experience, one of the main problems before using Microsoft SharePoint was managing documents across different locations without a clear structure. Files were often stored in multiple folders or shared through different channels, which made it difficult to track the latest version and led to confusion during discussions.
SharePoint helps solve this by providing a centralized space where documents can be stored, organized, and accessed in a consistent way. In my day-to-day work, especially when handling design-related documents and technical documentation, this makes it much easier to locate the correct files and avoid working on outdated versions.
Another benefit I’ve noticed is improved coordination. When multiple people are involved, having everything in one place reduces the need for repeated sharing or clarification. It also allows me to focus more on the actual content and work rather than spending time searching or verifying documents.

Overall, it has made my workflow more structured and reliable, particularly when dealing with documentation that requires accuracy and easy access.

**What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?**

We use it extensively to store and manage key integration artifacts, including business requirement documents (BRDs), mapping files, and design specifications for our integration processes. It’s particularly helpful for maintaining well-structured folders across different integration flows—such as Customer Master, Orders, and Billing—which makes it easy to find historical documents, compare versions, and quickly access the latest updates when needed.

Another major advantage is using it as a knowledge repository. We keep meeting recordings, transcripts, and shared documentation in one place, which helps a lot during troubleshooting and also makes onboarding new team members much smoother.

The version control and collaboration features are also very practical. Multiple team members can work on the same documents, track changes, and stay aligned without losing context. Overall, it has significantly improved our organization, traceability, and day-to-day team productivity across integration workflows.

I don’t have any major dislikes about Microsoft SharePoint. It works well for our needs when it comes to managing documents, recordings, and integration-related files, and it has been reliable overall. I also find it easy to use for our day-to-day work.

Microsoft SharePoint helps us tackle the problem of scattered information by centralizing all our integration-related documents, recordings, and team knowledge in one platform.

In our day-to-day integration work, this makes it much easier to find and access key artifacts such as BRDs, mapping documents, process designs, and notes from past discussions, without having to hunt across multiple tools or systems. Keeping everything organized in a single place has significantly reduced the time we spend searching for information and helps us stay aligned as a team.
