## Microsoft Planner Reviews
  ### 1. Intuitive, Seamless Task Tracking with Outlook and MS App Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul s. | Assistant Manager OTC, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner helps me organise tasks and keep track of what I need to do. It’s very easy to flag emails in Outlook, and they automatically flow into Planner with a date and time tag for follow-up. I can add reminders and extra details, and Planner is integrated with other MS apps, which makes it easy to access wherever I’m working. The UI is intuitive and simple to navigate. Performance in the Task app is solid, and it also syncs with the calendar as planned.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Sometimes the reminders overlook the date and time I set and send notifications at random times. Also, when I flag emails in Outlook with a specific date, Planner still marks them as due the same day, ignoring the date I selected.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps an easy-to-access list of tasks and flagged emails to work on, based on the reminders I set. It also helps me plan my day’s work.

  ### 2. Lightweight Project Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jitheesh V. | IT INFRA MANAGER, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I like most about Microsoft Planner is how simple it is while still being tightly integrated with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It lets teams create, assign, and track tasks through an intuitive Kanban-style board. Its integration with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint makes collaboration feel seamless, so you can stay in the flow without constantly switching between different tools.
Planner also gives clear visibility into task ownership, deadlines, and progress, which helps strengthen accountability and transparency across the team. Features like labels, checklists, attachments, and comments make it easier to organize work and keep everything in one place. I also find the dashboard view with charts especially helpful for getting a quick read on project status and how the workload is distributed.
Overall, it’s a practical, lightweight project management tool that supports better team coordination and productivity without adding unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

While Microsoft Planner is simple and easy to use, it lacks some advanced project management capabilities. Features such as detailed reporting, task dependencies, time tracking, and advanced workflow automation are limited compared to more robust project management tools.
Another limitation is the restricted customization options. The labeling system is basic, and there are limited filtering and sorting capabilities for large projects. Managing multiple plans across different teams can also become difficult without a centralized portfolio view.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner helps solve the problem of task visibility and coordination within the team. Earlier, tasks were managed through emails and informal communication, which led to missed follow-ups and unclear ownership. Planner centralizes all tasks in one place, clearly defining responsibility, deadlines, and progress status.

  ### 3. Streamlines Task Management with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shoaib S. | People and Culture Officer, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I love how Microsoft Planner is seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Teams and Office 365, making it easy to use and part of a competitively priced ecosystem. The integration is flawless, allowing tasks added from my mobile phone to appear immediately in the web experience. The ability to use it in a board format, customizing columns for different statuses and simply dragging and dropping tasks, lets me see at a glance where I stand. I also appreciate the feature that allows me to flag an email and have it automatically turn into a task on Planner. This helps me assign deadlines and notes easily. Click and drag experience makes setup and use straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The mobile application is a bit not as advanced or as polished as the Web experience or the Microsoft Teams integration. I would like the mobile experience to be more user-friendly. It's there, but it doesn't let me do much. I still have to eventually click on the widget, then go to the native application to get a lot done.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Planner to keep up with deadlines, organize tasks on mobile seamlessly synced with web and Teams, and flag emails as tasks, enhancing collaboration and task tracking.

  ### 4. Easy Task Tracking and Seamless Microsoft 365 Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner is easy to use and integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, making team collaboration simple. It provides clear task tracking, visual boards, and straightforward assignment of responsibilities, helping teams stay organized and aligned without complex project management tools.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner has some limitations, especially in Planner Premium. Not all fields available in the web interface are exposed in the Dataverse tables, which makes integration and automation scenarios more difficult. This lack of consistency can limit advanced reporting and customization options.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner solves the problem of organizing and tracking team tasks in a simple, visual way. It helps manage workloads, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress in one place. This benefits me by improving team coordination, increasing transparency, and ensuring tasks are completed on time without the need for complex project management tools.

  ### 5. Easy, Intuitive Task Tracking with Seamless Microsoft 365 Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayur K. | Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I like best about Microsoft Planner is its ease of use and seamless integration with Microsoft 365. It’s simple to set up, intuitive to manage tasks, and works especially well with Microsoft Teams and Outlook. The visual task boards make it easy to track progress and collaborate efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner offers only limited advanced project management capabilities, such as detailed reporting, task dependencies, and time tracking. The customization options are also fairly minimal, which can feel restrictive when you’re trying to support more complex workflows. It works best within the Microsoft ecosystem, so integration with non-Microsoft tools remains limited.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner solves the problem of organizing team tasks and tracking progress in a simple, visual way. It helps keep work structured, improves collaboration, and ensures everyone knows their responsibilities, which saves time and increases overall productivity.

  ### 6. Simple, intuitive, and effective tool for task and project management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ISSAOUI B. | IT administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner makes task and project management very simple and visual. I like the intuitive Kanban-style boards, easy drag-and-drop task assignments, and the integration with other Microsoft 365 tools like Teams and Outlook. It helps keep my team organized, track progress at a glance, and prioritize tasks efficiently. The notifications and reminders ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner can feel limited when managing very complex projects. Advanced reporting and analytics features are missing, and there’s no native Gantt chart view. While it’s perfect for small-to-medium teams, larger projects sometimes require complementary tools to fully visualize timelines and dependencies.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planner helps our team stay organized, track project progress, and manage task assignments efficiently. It reduces confusion over priorities, ensures deadlines are met, and improves team collaboration by centralizing task information in one platform. Integration with Microsoft 365 tools makes communication and updates seamless, saving time and reducing errors.

  ### 7. Easy and effective task management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shihas Y. | Development Engineer, Airlines/Aviation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Easy task tracking, clear visual layout, and seamless integration with the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, etc.).

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Limited reporting, fewer advanced project management features, and not ideal for complex projects or detailed planning.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with task organisation, tracking progress, and improving collaboration across the team.

  ### 8. Planner, good tool but not very intuitive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** César G. | P, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The planner enjoys its integration with Microsoft 365, even its free version, although it is very limited. As for the pro version, it opens important features like statistics or the creation of new columns. Planner is online, but like every online tool from Microsoft, an "installable" can be created through Edge. Planner is not easy to use if you are not accustomed to Microsoft 365 tools. Customer support is functional, but slow. I use this tool daily to record projects. It does not require implementation, just understanding it and creating a template.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It's complex. Everything in the M365 tools has its learning curve, and the same goes for Planner. In Planner, you can do wonderful things, but they are never intuitive. I wish Planner were more intuitive like the competition.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The organization of teams and their tasks. Without a doubt, keeping a record of those responsible for each task improves projects. Planner helps the company maintain detailed control of projects, and through its usage statistics, it helps us understand the detailed tracking of projects.

  ### 9. Project Progress Calculation Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner has been helpful with managing my projects and having a singular view of the milestones, tasks, duration, progress. It also has the ability to create reports and visualise the overall health of the project

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The calculation of a project’s progress isn’t accurate, because it’s based on the total number of tasks and subtasks. This can make a project look further along than it really is, which then makes reporting difficult. On top of that, the interface feels bland, and the Gantt Chart isn’t very appealing to use.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a tool to manage and track the progress of a project. And share with stakeholders to provide them with visibility. It is useful in seeing how the timeline will be affected if milestones or tasks are not met on time

  ### 10. Easy Project and Due Date Tracking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricky F. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Easy to see projects and tasks with due dates

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Ability to add more tasks and preview in boards

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us gather as a team with timelines and tracking of projects.
