What I like most about Meshy is how quickly I can turn an idea or a reference image into a 3D model I can actually use. I don’t have an advanced background in 3D modeling, so being able to create assets without building everything from scratch has made a real difference in my workflow.
The interface is fairly easy to get comfortable with, and I was able to start experimenting right away without a complicated learning curve. Generations are usually fast, and I really appreciate being able to retry when something doesn’t come out the way I expected. The AI does a surprisingly good job interpreting reference images, although I sometimes need a couple of attempts to get the details where I want them.
I also like the topology options and the flexibility to keep working with the generated models in other tools. That’s especially helpful when I’m prototyping or when I need to create several assets for a project.
For me, the biggest advantage is how much time and money it saves. I can test ideas, try out different models, and still get useful results without spending hours modeling or having to hire someone for every asset. Honestly, being able to do all of that without needing much technical knowledge is what makes Meshy so useful for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I find a bit frustrating is that the AI doesn’t always nail everything on the first try. Sometimes the model looks great overall, but a few details don’t match what I had in mind, so I end up tweaking the prompt or running another generation.
It’s not a major problem, especially because Meshy lets you retry generations for free, which I genuinely appreciate. Still, when I’m working on multiple assets, those extra attempts can start to add up and break my flow a little.
I’d also really like to see more practical tips for improving results when a generation doesn’t turn out the way I expected. Clearer guidance around prompts, reference images, and common issues would be very helpful, especially for people like me who don’t have much experience with traditional 3D modeling.
Overall, these are fairly minor frustrations compared to how much time Meshy saves me, but they’re definitely areas where I think the experience could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
