The account settings make it simple to show each person only what they need to see while preventing access to restricted information. The budgeting tool was easy to learn and included useful features that helped produce more accurate budgets. I was also blown away by our onboarding experience with Martus. They clearly laid out the whole process, gave us prep work and homework to help us best understand what we were learning, and gave us all the recordings of our trainings. Nika, our implementation specialist could answer every question we asked, and helped us learn how Martus could work best for us. Once you are done, they don't leave you out to dry. They are there with follow up trainings and an excellent service team. **What do you dislike about Martus?** The one thing we really wish Martus would offer is a full accounting module. We already have our complete chart of accounts set up; if Martus added the functionality to manage our finances directly, right there within Martus—so we wouldn't have to import from another program—that would be amazing. **What problems is Martus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our finance team used to spend multiple hours every month sending out budget updates after the month closed. If we ran short on time, individual budget spreadsheets would often go several months without being updated. Now, with Martus, I can import a single spreadsheet and everyone receives their budget updates on time each month. Their support team is amazing to work with if we have questions and we are able to get responses quickly. ### 2. Also, using the back feature is not has user friendly as I would like, I have to go back and select the paramenters. **What problems is Martus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The elimination of manual spreadsheets and the manual rollup to a consolidated budget. The personnel budgeting module has saved me hours ouf work, especially when creating several scenarios for comparison. Also, I don't need to send out financial reports to budget managers any longer, I send a Martus notification that reports are ready to be viewed in Martua. ### 3. Prior to adopting Martus, I was responsible for building and continuously updating a personnel budget model each time the organization onboarded new staff or adjusted our FTE count, a process that was both time-consuming and prone to error. Martus has greatly improved both our efficiency and accuracy in this area. The implementation experience was equally impressive. The initial setup was seamless, and the training provided by Andrea M. and her team was thorough, patient, and well structured. Their use of video recordings as reference materials was particularly helpful. Thanks to their support, we were able to migrate our data smoothly and have the budget ready for BOD approval withing just two months. **What do you dislike about Martus?** One area with room for improvement is the Report Builder. While the availability of pre-built templates does make the process more approachable, eliminating the need to build reports entirely from scratch, additional training on this feature would be beneficial. More in-depth guidance would help enhance the overall user experience and allow users to take fuller advantage of its capabilities. **What problems is Martus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Martus has effectively addressed our over reliance on Excel for budgeting and reporting purposes. We are a church and I like how it is affordable and still has all of the functionality that we need. We are able to break out multiple ministry areas across 3 campuses and have a budget for each one. The support team has also been amazing in getting it set up and is very responsive. **What do you dislike about Martus?** The only complaint I have is when trying to run another area's budget, and if you go back to the main screen it clears out all prior filters. So if you were looking at the next fiscal year it kicks you back to the current one. If you don't catch it you could be looking at wrong data. **What problems is Martus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed our process to be more automated and more easily accessible to all of our areas. Before Martus, everyone would have to come to me to run them reports to see where they stood financially. Now, they can quickly look it up themselves and see all of the detail behind their numbers. ### 5. As a budget manager, I can go in and look at where expenses are being coded, which is helpful. **What do you dislike about Martus?** I found it a bit hard to find the exact videos I needed to help solve problems at first, especially as a beginner. While Martus is powerful, the insights while using the program aren't as user-friendly as they could be. There was help available, and I eventually overcame these initial issues, but learning how to use it had a steep learning curve.
