## Lunacy Reviews
  ### 1. Makes Healthcare Design Simple, Clean, and Professional

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishan S. | Manager and Dietician at Chaitanya Homoeo Clinic, Medical Store Owner, Content Creator, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

I work as a Dietician and Nutritionist, manage a homeopathy clinic, and also create health education content, so I need design work regularly for patient guidance visuals, wellness graphics, educational posts, thumbnails, transformation layouts and daily content designs. What I like best about Lunacy is that it makes designing work feel simple and less confusing. Ease of use is good because after little practice I was able to create clean graphics, health awareness visuals and client progress designs without needing too much technical editing knowledge.

the features I use most are vector editing, icons, illustrations and text tools because they help me make healthcare content look more organized and professional. Background remove and image editing tools are also useful while preparing educational visuals and progress related designs. I also like that importing images and design assets is easy, so ease of integration feels smooth during daily work. Ease of implementation was comfortable because I started using it in my real work very quickly. I now use it frequently for clinic content, educational graphics and visual content creation work. Number of features feels practical for daily designing needs.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

sometimes when a design file becomes little heavy with many images, vectors and layers, the performance can slow down slightly. During editing bigger health education graphics or detailed content layouts, I noticed small lag while moving elements or switching between sections. I also feel that some tools and settings are not very easy to find in the beginning, specially for users who are not from professional design background. Sometimes while adjusting text or layers, i need few extra clicks to find the exact option.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helping me solve the problem of creating health related designs and educational visuals without using very complicated design software. Earlier, making clinic graphics, patient awareness posts, thumbnails and progress related visuals used to take more time and effort, specially when I needed quick designs during busy work.

now I use Lunacy for creating wellness graphics, educational content layouts, diet related visuals and client progress designs in one place. Features like vector editing, icons, illustrations, text tools and background remove help me prepare clean and more professional looking content much faster. It also helps me organize visual information better while creating patient education and awareness content. overall it saves time, improves presentation quality and makes my daily clinic and content creation work more smooth and manageable.

  ### 2. Fast, Lightweight Offline UI Design with Great Built-In Assets

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rutvik D. | UX Designer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

What I like most about Lunacy is how lightweight and fast it is compared to other design tools. It runs smoothly even on lower-end systems, which makes it very efficient for day-to-day UI/UX work.

One of the biggest advantages is that it works offline. I can design without worrying about internet connectivity, which is especially useful when working on the go or in unstable network conditions.

Lunacy also comes with built-in assets like icons, illustrations, and photos, which saves time searching externally. The drag-and-drop workflow and familiar interface (similar to Figma/Sketch) make it easy to pick up and start designing quickly.

From a pricing perspective, it offers strong value since many features are available for free, making it a great option for individual designers and small teams.

Lunacy also offers decent integration capabilities, especially with design workflows that involve Sketch files and common export formats, making it easier to collaborate or transition between tools.

Onboarding is straightforward due to its familiar interface and minimal setup requirements. Even new users can start designing quickly without a steep learning curve, and the built-in resources further reduce dependency on external tools.

It also includes basic AI features such as background removal, image upscaling, and avatar generation, which are useful for speeding up simple tasks. While these features are not very advanced, they add convenience to the overall workflow.

Overall, Lunacy is a fast, accessible, and cost-effective tool for UI design, especially when you need a reliable offline alternative.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

What I dislike about Lunacy is that, even though it’s fast and lightweight, it still doesn’t have the depth or overall polish of more mature design tools. Some advanced features needed for complex design workflows feel limited or not as refined as they could be.

From a UI/UX standpoint, certain interactions and keyboard shortcuts aren’t always intuitive or consistent. That can slow down experienced users, especially those coming from tools like Figma or Adobe products.

When it comes to integrations, Lunacy feels somewhat restricted. It doesn’t connect as deeply with other tools or collaboration ecosystems, which can add friction when working in team environments.

Performance is generally solid, but occasional bugs or unexpected behavior can interrupt the workflow, particularly when dealing with more complex files.

On the support and onboarding side, it’s easy to get started, but the guidance and advanced documentation aren’t always detailed enough to help with edge-case problems.

The AI features are handy for basic tasks like background removal or image enhancement, but they still feel fairly basic and not tightly integrated into the broader design workflow.

Overall, Lunacy is a strong lightweight tool, but it still needs improvements in advanced capabilities, integrations, and ecosystem support to compete at a higher level.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before I started using Lunacy, UI design often meant relying on heavier tools that demanded strong system performance and constant internet access. That combination regularly slowed my workflow, especially on lower-end devices or when the network was unstable.

With Lunacy, I can design smoothly even on less powerful systems. It removes those performance bottlenecks and lets me focus on the actual design work instead of fighting tool limitations. The offline capability is a major advantage too, because it allows me to keep working without interruptions.

The built-in assets icons, illustrations, and photos also cut down on the need to switch between tools or search for resources elsewhere, which saves time during the design process.

As a result, my workflow feels faster and more flexible. I’ve been able to reduce setup and asset-gathering time by around 20-30% while still maintaining consistency in my UI design work.

Overall, Lunacy addresses the dependency on heavy tools and internet connectivity, making the design process more efficient and accessible.

  ### 3. Feature-Rich, Familiar UI/UX Design Tool with Great Built-In Assets and Offline Mode

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

The best thing I like about this Lunacy platform UI/UX is very complete and provides a graphic design experience without the cost associated with many competing design tools. There built in library of icons, Registration photos save a significant amount of time, we don't need to switch between multiple applications or asset websites. I also like their offline functionality, which allows us to continue working even when Internet connectivity is limited. Their interface feels familiar to anyone who has used similar software like Figma or Sketch, it makes her own boarding very much easier. The air power tools, such as background removal and image enhancement, are very useful for day-to-day design tasks.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

This platform offers a strong feature set, but some advanced collaboration design system capabilities are not as matured other larger platforms out there. Also, occasionally, importing complex design files may need some minor adjustments, and 3rd party integrations are more limited when compared to industry-leading alternatives. The larger enterprise teams may also find that their existing workflows are more deeply integrated with other design ecosystems.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform helps us by centralising the design workflow from combining design tools, asset libraries, and AI utilities into a single platform. Rather than searching externally for icons, Illustrations or stock images, I can access them directly within the application. Their offline capabilities also eliminate dependency on cloud access for our day-to-day work. Overall, this has improved our productivity, reduced context switching, and accelerated design iterations for our marketing-related projects.

  ### 4. Once a Strong Canva Alternative, Now Hampered by Limited Assets

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alejandro R. | Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

I think it used to be a great competitor to Canva because it had more original assets overall.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

Now it's basically not loading any assets, it's really limited and feels like it's an abandoned product.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It used to be a great Canva competitor because the assets used to be way more original and your designs tended to be way more original than Canva's because of the amazing assets they provided you.

  ### 5. Working faster and designing better thanks to Lunacy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

Lunacy is stable and multi–OS compatible so I can continue projects no matter what device I have at hand; it has a well–designed interface that allows easy access to the tools I use most. It integrates AI tools that I use to remove backgrounds with a click, generate text and execute smart snippets; it also has offline functionality to keep working smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

I had one issue that was fixed with an update, when I used to handle large files Lunacy would sometimes freeze but after the update everything worked perfectly.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Lunacy particularly for designing handouts, presentations and classroom resources so I've improved the quality of my communication. It's a versatile tool, capable of handling different file formats which makes–it easy to export my projects.

  ### 6. My favorite design tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro U. | Freelance , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

I love that it is an offline tool and works very fast and efficiently compared to similar tools. Additionally, it also allows synchronization and working with files in the cloud. One of the advantages I also value is its icon library and its AI background removal tool.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

I find few disadvantages to Lunacy, although it would be great if the prototyping section incorporated new features to improve prototypes, especially in terms of animations and interactions.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I design web pages, mobile applications, and also publications for social networks like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. With Lunacy, I have improved my delivery times since its workflow is very efficient for my daily work.

SOmetimes it is a little unstable and it does not allow plugins

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

App and Webdesign

  ### 8. Great design tool from icon8

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hasan H. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

I am a huge fan of icon8. I've created many apps using that website. I can say that I am using Lunacy from the beta version. It is like Figma but I can edit images easier and sharing projects is much easier. The tool has almost no limits.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

I would like to have more extensions like in Figma. Lunacy already has background remover, image, and text generator, but as I said I want more public extension. I want to create videos from my designs.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First I started to use it for my UI/UX design job. Then I started to create posters and ads for my family job. Actually, It is easier than ever. Almost better than canva if we have templates.

  ### 9. Lunacy is a great alternative to Figma.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

I love that Lunacy is very similar to other design tools so it is easy to get into and has a clean UI

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

The price compared to its competitors which offer similar products.

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like to have a grip of many design tools. Especially as a designer, all clients are different and use different products and Lunacy happen to be one of them.

  ### 10. A good tool to manage Sketch files on a PC

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Lunacy?**

It is an amazing free tool that I use when I have to open sketch files on a PC. Maybe it is not the best UX prototyping tool in the marketplace but it is free that may be very useful for urgency or if your Mac is broken.

**What do you dislike about Lunacy?**

It is hard to say something negative for a tool that is is free but if it will be better if it could have all the characteristics that the Sketch app has...but maybe then it has to be named Sketch for PC. It has to improve the symbols panel and some other Sketch characteristics to be totally compatible with Sketch files.

**Recommendations to others considering Lunacy:**

It is free, what more do you want?

**What problems is Lunacy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use for opening Sketch files on a PC and I am able to work with those files without almost any issue. It is versatile, fast, intuitive...if you have already used Sketch, of course.
