"AI-Powered Editing with GDPR-Friendly Offline Catalog"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Luminar Neo?

The AI editing tools alone cut so much repetitive retouch work out of my daily workflow. Relight lets me tweak the mood on retail product and lifestyle shots without spending ages painting masks manually, and the background erase tool churns out clean cutouts perfect for our website UI banners. What sold our studio long-term is the fully offline catalog. All our clients’ proprietary brand photos live only on our local secure servers, no forced cloud uploads at all—this checks every box for GDPR asset storage rules we’re held to here in Germany. Custom saved presets and batch processing also keep our team’s brand color grading consistent across dozens of campaign photos, which drastically speeds up turnaround for tight retail client deadlines. What do you dislike about Luminar Neo?

There are several consistent pain points that add extra steps to our design pipeline. If I reorganize client photo folders outside the program, the catalog loses all edit history entirely, and it doesn’t play nicely with the encrypted external RAID drives we use for long-term archives. Low-light RAW product shots end up grainy after AI adjustments, masking controls feel clunky when editing intricate small products, and batch exports drag when processing large sets of high-res imagery. It also has zero native CMYK profiles for print deliverables, plus limited metadata tagging options we need for official GDPR audit trails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
