We store all geotech drawings and test reports on OpenText Core Share, and I set differentiated permissions in Lime CRM: field staff can only log site visit notes, while only senior engineers can modify client bid data and final project statuses. Moreover, the structured client tag data in Lime CRM perfectly matches our Oracle Eloqua marketing automation work. I classify clients by municipal infrastructure, commercial foundation and residential project types, then export segmented lists for targeted technical email outreach. The customizable dashboards let me quickly filter high-priority pending report projects, greatly improving our overall work efficiency and avoiding the data chaos we faced with our old CRM system. The biggest drawbacks of Lime CRM all stem from its insufficient functional refinement for field engineering and automated office workflows, which have caused me real operational troubles in daily geotechnical work. First of all, its native automation function is extremely rigid and cannot identify the custom geotech fields we set up. Last quarter, we took on a multi-phase urban road subgrade stabilization project, and I tried to set up automatic reminder alerts for pending lab test reviews and report submission deadlines in Lime CRM. But the system’s built-in triggers failed to recognize our self-defined “laboratory testing pending” field. No automatic pop-up reminders were generated when the milestone was overdue. Our team missed the best review window, forcing us to rush to revise geotechnical analysis data overnight to catch the client’s construction bidding deadline, which brought huge work pressure. In addition, its mobile adaptation is very unfriendly for on-site engineers. I often go out for site reconnaissance and borehole inspection, and I need to take on-site soil condition photos and record preliminary field notes in real time. But Lime CRM’s mobile terminal cannot quickly call up our custom project fields, and uploading pictures and editing field records is very laggy and cumbersome. I have to save all field information on my mobile phone and uniformly update it after returning to the office. During a recent park foundation investigation, I forgot a small on-site soil anomaly detail due to delayed recording, which required a secondary site verification.
