I like having one place to track data engineering work from development through production. I use Jira for pipeline tasks, data quality issues, deployment activities, and production incidents. The comments and activity history are especially useful because I can see what was changed and what has already been discussed. The issue history and workflow tracking are my favorite features. I can follow an issue from creation to resolution, check previous comments, attach technical details, and understand which team members worked on it. It is well organized once the project structure is understood. It works well alongside development and collaboration tools. Integrating it with tools such as Git repositories and communication platforms helps connect code changes, technical discussions, and work items.
