  ### 1. TIBCO Jaspersoft Review: A Great Experience with Platform and Operational Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajesh Kumar K. | Product Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

TIBCO Jaspersoft is a powerful reporting platform designed for enterprises, perfect for both operational and compliance needs. It shines when it comes to features like report scheduling, secure delivery through email and SFTP, role-based access control, and multi-tenancy support, making it a great fit for regulated environments. The platform also offers a variety of export options, including PDF, CSV, and paginated Excel, ensuring your reports are consistent. With customizable reports and dashboards, Jaspersoft integrates smoothly into enterprise applications, providing real value for organizations that emphasize governed, scalable, and automated reporting over ad-hoc analytics. This can be especially helpful for internal audits and analyzing future targets.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

Despite its solid reputation in traditional reporting, TIBCO Jaspersoft does have some hiccups when it comes to modern analytics. You might run into performance issues with large datasets and complex reports, which often means a bit of extra tuning is required.

When you stack it up against tools like Power BI and Tableau, Jaspersoft tends to offer fewer advanced visualizations, has less robust ad-hoc exploration capabilities, and doesn’t quite deliver on AI-driven insights. This can make it less appealing for organizations looking for rich analytics and speedy data discovery.

Clients often find themselves navigating report complexity and dealing with unexpected email failures when handling large datasets, which can complicate troubleshooting. These challenges are definitely something for product managers to keep in mind as they work to meet customer needs.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft is your go-to for dependable, governed, and automated enterprise reporting, which is key for keeping your data accurate, secure, and distributed in a controlled manner. It makes generating those pixel-perfect reports a breeze with options for scheduling, email, and secure channels like SFTP, all while cutting down on manual effort and minimizing risk.

With its role-based access control and multi-tenancy features, managing user groups and customers becomes a walk in the park, all while ensuring compliance is top-notch. Jaspersoft acts as a solid, embeddable reporting foundation that scales effortlessly across various use cases and supports your long-term product roadmaps without needing extensive customization.

Oh, and we’ve just made the leap from Jasper 8.0.3 to 9.0.0! This upgrade has tackled a bunch of client issues and made the user experience even better.

**Official Response from Michelle Rudd:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave Jaspersoft a detailed review. It is great to hear about another successful upgrade, and the improved UX!

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

Strong Ad Hoc Reporting:
Ad Hoc views are flexible and allow business users to create reports without deep technical knowledge.

PP views work well for formatted, regulatory, and printable reports with consistent layouts.

Good Integration Capability:
Integrates well with existing applications via APIs and supports embedding reports.

Multiple Export Options:
Supports PDF, Excel, CSV, and other formats, which is useful for business users.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

Scheduling & Authentication Limitations:
Scheduling reports (especially with SSH/private key authentication) can be complex and sometimes unreliable.

Performance Issues with Large Data:
Ad Hoc reports may become slow when working with large datasets or complex joins.

User Interface Complexity:
The UI is not very intuitive for new users and requires training to use effectively.

Limited Modern Visualization:
Charting and visualization capabilities are basic compared to modern BI tools.

Upgrade & Hotfix Dependency:
Certain issues require vendor hotfixes, which increases dependency on TIBCO support.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft enables embedded reporting in Quercus, providing both Ad Hoc reports for flexible analysis and pixel-perfect reports for standardized outputs. This helps users access accurate insights directly within the product, reduces manual reporting, and ensures secure, consistent report delivery.

**Official Response from Michelle Rudd:**

> Thank you for your detailed feedback, it is much appreciated and will be shared with our teams. Great to hear ad hoc reporting capabilities are helping your teams access insights and stay flexible.

  ### 3. TIBCO Jaspersoft: A Senior Quality Analyst’s Review of Capabilities and Challenges.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harini D. | Senior Quality Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

TIBCO JasperReports Server is an enterprise-grade reporting platform that offers advanced scheduling and distribution capabilities, enabling secure report delivery via email or SFTP in compliance with organizational and customer policies. The platform provides robust security features, including role-based access control and multi-tenancy, making it suitable for large-scale, multi-client environments. It supports multiple export formats such as PDF, CSV, and XLSX, facilitating flexible data utilization across business functions. With strong pixel-perfect reporting capabilities and configurable reports and dashboards through built-in editors, JasperReports Server is well suited for organizations requiring accurate, automated, and secure reporting.
From a visualisation perspective, Jaspersoft primarily delivers more traditional and static reporting. It does not yet offer the level of advanced interactivity, dynamic dashboards, drill-down capabilities, or exploratory analytics features that have become commonplace in modern business intelligence solutions.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

Despite its strengths, TIBCO JasperReports Server has several limitations that may affect overall user experience when compared with modern business intelligence and visualization platforms. The user interface is relatively dated and less intuitive, which can make report development and navigation challenging for non-technical users. Performance constraints may emerge when processing large datasets or complex reports, often necessitating additional backend optimization to achieve acceptable rendering and export performance. Furthermore, the platform’s visualization and interactive dashboard capabilities are limited, offering fewer self-service analytics features than tools such as Power BI or Qlikview. A steep learning curve and gaps in documentation can also slow user onboarding and issue resolution. Some times clients are fasing intrackable schedule email failer as well.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft solves the problem of reliable, secure, and automated enterprise reporting by enabling organizations to design pixel-perfect reports and distribute them consistently through scheduled deliveries such as email and SFTP. It addresses key challenges around data access control, multi-tenancy, and compliance by providing strong role-based security and tenant isolation, which is especially valuable in customer-facing environments. For me, as a senior quality analyst, this has been beneficial in validating data accuracy, ensuring reports are delivered to the right users on time, supporting multiple clients with different access rules, and reducing manual effort through automation while maintaining consistent and auditable reporting outputs.
In addition, the JasperReports Server environment was upgraded from version 8.0.3 to version 9.0.0. This upgrade has received positive feedback from clients due to the introduction of enhanced features, including multi-select parameters and improved show/hide field functionality, which provide greater flexibility and usability in report interaction. The addition of favorites and improved folder management has also made it easier for users to quickly access critical reports across products. Overall, the upgrade to version 9.0.0 has addressed several limitations present in version 8.0.3 and has significantly improved the user experience.

**Official Response from Michelle Rudd:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Jaspersoft. It seems like you and your team have developed flexible solutions for your reporting use cases with Jaspersoft. The team appreciates your feedback on optimizing for larger datasets, please reach out to the support team for tailored, 1:1 performance recommendations.

  ### 4. "Powerful and flexible reporting tool with great customization options"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Santhiya R. | Associate Quality Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

What I like best about Jaspersoft is its robust and flexible reporting capabilities, which have significantly improved with the JasperReports Server 9.0 upgrade. Many security issues have been fixed, making the platform more stable and secure. The upgrade also provides better UI responsiveness, improved user experience, and more options to customize report columns and layouts. Overall performance, compatibility with modern browsers and databases, and handling of complex reports have also improved, making it well-suited for enterprise reporting needs.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

The initial setup can be a bit complex for new users, and documentation could be more beginner-friendly. Performance may slightly lag when handling very large datasets or complex queries.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft helps solve the challenge of delivering real-time, customizable reports and dashboards across multiple departments. It enables us to embed reporting capabilities directly into our applications, reducing the need for external BI tools. This has significantly improved data accessibility for non-technical users and sped up decision-making processes with automated, scheduled reports.

**Official Response from Auseh Britt:**

> Thank you for your review Santhiya. We're happy to hear you are benefiting from Jaspesoft's level of customization and its versatility in connecting with data sources. The ability to embed into other applications and to provide self-service reporting to end-users are popular features amongst our customers.

We also appreciate the feedback on the documentation and it is something our team is currently working on.

  ### 5. TIBCO Jasper Reports Server- A Product Manager’s Perspective After 4 Years of Real-World Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elango L. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

I would like to highlight Jaspersoft’s flexibility and robust reporting capabilities, particularly following our recent upgrade from version 8.0.3 to 9.0.0. This upgrade introduces significant security enhancements, performance improvements, new features, and a redesigned user interface. These updates allow us to fully leverage a modernized layout, improved navigation, and enhanced usability for end users.

Jaspersoft continues to support complex, highly customizable reports across multiple data sources. Key features such as multi-tenancy and report scheduling significantly streamline operations and enable efficient report automation. In addition, functionalities like multi-select options and the ability to show or hide files within reports have been well received by our customers, enabling faster report usage and customization.

Overall, these enhancements and the platform’s adaptability make Jaspersoft a more user-friendly and effective reporting solution.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

While Jaspersoft’s adaptability and ongoing upgrades have improved usability and effectiveness, there are areas that present opportunities for further enhancement. The user interface, although functional, appears dated when compared to modern visual BI and report-building tools.

Additionally, performance and scalability challenges have been observed when working with very large datasets. Query execution and report generation times tend to increase significantly, and overall performance may lag behind in-memory analytics platforms such as Power BI or Qlik. Furthermore, scheduling high volumes of reports can place considerable strain on server resources if not carefully configured.

From a visualization standpoint, Jaspersoft offers more basic and static reporting capabilities. It lacks the advanced interactive dashboards, drill-down functionality, and exploratory analytics features that are now standard in contemporary business intelligence tools.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft offers robust scheduling capabilities that enable the automated execution and distribution of reports through secure email delivery and SFTP transfers, ensuring compliance with customer security policies. These features support operational efficiency and reliable report dissemination.

Different teams and downstream workflows require reports in various formats—for example, PDF for legal and compliance purposes, CSV for analytics ingestion, and XLSX for finance teams. Jaspersoft addresses these needs by supporting multiple export formats, including PDF, CSV, XLSX, and XLSX (paginated), which have proven highly valuable to customers.

The platform also provides a centralized repository for reports and dashboards, complete with version control and role-based permission management. Using Jaspersoft’s authoring tools, developers and analysts can create custom pixel-perfect reports, dynamic dashboards, and parameterized reports tailored to specific business requirements.

Overall, these capabilities enable our customers to effectively leverage Jaspersoft for enterprise reporting, internal audits, and performance analysis.

**Official Response from Michelle Rudd:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience and providing +feedback. The Jaspersoft engineering team is continuously working to deliver improvements that streamline reporting and drive effective decision making. A core pillar to our roadmap is creating a more modern, user-friendly UI across the JasperReports Server and Web Studio so they’re easily accessible for all users.

  ### 6. Jaspersoft for Operational Reporting: Flexible and Powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siddharth P. | Lead Solution Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

I primarily use Jaspersoft for operational reporting. I appreciate its flexibility and integration capabilities, as it allows me to connect to a wide range of data sources, from traditional RDBMS to big data platforms and cloud services. This is invaluable for operational reporting. The REST APIs are a game changer for automation and embedding, enabling customization based on our needs.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

I feel like the UI and usability of Jaspersoft could be improved. The interface feels somewhat dated and can be unintuitive for some new users. Another thing is the learning curve; while powerful, Jaspersoft has a steep learning curve, especially for advanced features like custom expressions and custom queries.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jaspersoft for operational reporting, generating detailed, data-driven reports that support business processes and decision-making. Its flexibility and integration capabilities, allowing connection to many data sources, along with REST APIs for customization, are invaluable for automation and embedding.

**Official Response from Michelle Rudd:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and feedback, for Jaspersoft. It is great to hear you are happy with the software and that it meets your reporting needs!

  ### 7. Flexible, Scalable, and Reliable Reporting Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cattie Serina J. | Quality analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

What I appreciate most about Jaspersoft is its impressive flexibility and scalability. The platform allows organizations to embed robust reporting and analytics capabilities directly into their own applications, which makes it a strong fit for both small teams and large enterprises. I also value its open architecture and the wide range of customization options available, since they let users tailor reports closely to their specific requirements. In addition, Jaspersoft handles complex data sources well and delivers consistently reliable performance, which makes it a dependable solution for supporting data-driven decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

One aspect I find challenging about Jaspersoft is the steep learning curve, especially for newcomers. Building complex reports can feel unintuitive at first, and the interface isn’t as user-friendly as some newer BI tools. In addition, performance can drop when working with very large datasets if reports aren’t properly optimized. Many advanced features also require a strong grasp of technical concepts such as SQL, Java, or server configuration, which can be tough for users without a technical background.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft solves the challenge of turning complex, scattered data into clear and actionable insights by providing flexible reporting and embedded analytics tools. It helps eliminate manual and time-consuming reporting processes, reduces dependence on IT teams, and makes data more accessible through interactive reports and dashboards. This benefits me by allowing faster access to accurate information, enabling me to create and customize reports independently, share insights easily with stakeholders, and make better, data-driven decisions more efficiently.

**Official Response from Michelle Rudd:**

> Your feedback on Jaspersoft is very important to us and greatly appreciated. The team is working on updates to our getting started and advanced training resources to ease enablement as there is a lot of power and possibilities to meet complex requirements. Thank you for choosing Jaspersoft!

  ### 8. Robust Reporting and Visualization with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammad Arshad M. | Senor System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

I liked the Data Visualization and Reporting, especially the use of HTML5 charts. We had the requirement for Heatmaps, which got achieved with the inclusion of table elements and dynamic reports. The setup was quite easy, and regular responses from the support portal helped a lot.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

It would be helpful if we had more ways to explore, we could expose the Dashboards out of the JRS along with the filters of that particular Dashboards. Also, currently, we do not have the second level drill for a dashboard, it would be good if we have that feature for the dashboard.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jaspersoft to generate reports for understanding market trends and create dashboards as per client requirements. It provides powerful data visualization with HTML5 charts and heatmaps, allowing for dynamic reports and interactive filters.

**Official Response from Auseh Britt:**

> Thank you for your review Mohammad. Sounds like the high level of report customization is a key criteria and I happy to hear Jaspersoft is delivering for you.

  ### 9. Powerful BI tool that exists in market but lacks AI adoptability and way behind top tools in market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajesh K. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

I like the export options, easy to schedule reports, publising reports is very easy, connection set up is very easy, easy to connect to any DB

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

It dont have visualizations that exists in power bi, doesnot support hierarchy based reports

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily integrates in to our application with visualize js

  ### 10. Scalable Reports & Perform the better optimized dashboard activities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Jaspersoft?**

Its capability to provide powerful, pixel-perfect reporting stands out, all while maintaining impressive flexibility and being straightforward to embed within other applications. The platform accommodates a broad array of data sources and allows for extensive customization thanks to its open and extensible architecture. Integration with Java and REST APIs is seamless, making it particularly reliable for producing high-quality documents, such as invoices, regulatory reports, and operational summaries, in enterprise settings.

**What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?**

Jaspersoft is that its user interface can feel dated and less intuitive compared to modern BI tools, report design often has a steep learning curve—especially for non-technical users—performance tuning can be complex for large or highly dynamic reports, and advanced features or scalability typically require the commercial edition, which can increase cost and limit flexibility for some teams.

**What problems is Jaspersoft solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jaspersoft solves the problem of delivering reliable, highly formatted, and embeddable reporting from complex data sources, which benefits me by enabling the creation of pixel-perfect, production-ready reports (such as invoices, statements, and compliance documents) that integrate seamlessly into applications, support diverse data sources, and provide consistent, scalable reporting without having to build and maintain a custom reporting engine from scratch.

**Official Response from Auseh Britt:**

> Thank you for taking time to leave a review. Happy to hear you have been able to create and embed pixel-perfect reporting for your users at scale. We are taking note about the need to update our documentation and it is something our team is currently working on.
