### 1. iWave: Reliable Prospect Research

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasmine L. | Research and Prospect Analytics Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

The amount of data available for prospect research is one of iWave’s biggest strengths. iWave is one of the most widely used and reliable resources when I’m conducting prospect research, and it’s always a tool I turn to during my research process. The database is fairly easy to use and navigate, which makes it practical for day-to-day work. I also sometimes find information on iWave that I can’t find elsewhere.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

I’ve noticed data discrepancies between what iWave lists and what the source shows, especially around gift information. For example, iWave may list a gift as an annual gift, while the source indicates it was a cumulative gift. I’ve also seen similar mismatches with gift amounts. I also noticed that iWave doesn't not include all gifts. There are gifts I come across in the news that is not included in iWave results.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Locating information for prospect research. iWave is also a constantly used resources when locating contact information for prospects.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi Jasmine,

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad iWave is a reliable resource for your prospect research and that it’s helping you locate valuable information.

We appreciate your feedback on data discrepancies and will share this with our team as we work to improve accuracy.

 ### 2. iWave Helps Us Build Our Major Donor Pipeline

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley B. | Sr Manager of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

We are a new organization, so we are building out our funder pipeline - including foundations, corporate, and individuals. I use this platform a lot at different periods of time when I'm working on prospecting.

We have used iWave to build our prospect list, which has lead to a few good leads as we build out our individual giving program. It's also been useful in finding contact information for corporate and foundations folks. From some of these lists, we did an email campaign series last year and figured out who was opening our emails, we were then able to utilize the screening feature to get more wealth screening information. This did help us strategize our approaches for 2026.

Customer support is always very quick to respond which I really appreciate.

Further, we pay four our members subscriptions. Many of them find the tool helpful for screening current donors; however, they have had also had issues with building out prospect lists.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

Contact information is sparse and often incorrect, even with the new Appends feature. As a new organization building out our major donor pipeline, we really need good, solid contact information. The prospect listing has also not been helpful in narrowing down our search for folks that support abortion. One of the reasons we chose this platform over others was that we could narrow down the filers, but when we narrow down no donors appear.

The tool hasn't been lucrative in building out an extensive new pipeline of foundations or corporations.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are building out our individual pipeline, so this has been a great tool for finding donors to support our work.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi Ashley,

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re thrilled iWave has helped you build your funder pipeline and strategize for 2026. It’s great to hear features like prospecting and wealth screening have supported your efforts, and we’re glad our customer support team has been helpful.

We appreciate your feedback on contact information and search filters—it’s valuable as we work to improve the platform.

Thanks for being part of the iWave community!

 ### 3. Comprehensive Data Synthesis for Fundraisers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

I value the comprehensive data iWave provides, which synthesizes different pieces of information on donors and prospects. I actively use it as a chief development officer, and it's great for identifying new prospects and assessing the capacity of existing donors. I appreciate the ability to customize the contract for good value for money. It's comprehensive for various industries, and our team uses it across the enterprise with success. I find iWave to be intuitive with a comprehensive set of resources for training, and the client success manager is really accessible for onboarding and individual training.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

As a Canadian user researching Canadian donors and entities, we have less access to information compared to some other clients. This is a common issue across all tools in the sector.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iWave to synthesize donor and prospect data, helping to identify capacity, affinity, and specific roles like corporate social responsibility leaders quickly. It's a comprehensive tool that solves practical fund-raising challenges efficiently, across all phases of the donor pipeline.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi Jon,

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re thrilled iWave is helping you synthesize donor and prospect data and efficiently solve fundraising challenges.

We appreciate your feedback on Canadian data access and will share this with our team as we work to improve.

 ### 4. Instrumental for Screening, But Needs Better Communication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

I use iWave for screening my donor database and building out my major gift pipeline. iWave helps me quickly segment new prospects and prioritize them as I surface them for our major gift officers. It has been instrumental for our organization, especially since our donor database is primarily our alumni. I'm able to use internal giving data with iWave's screening processes, which enhances iWave's analytics. It also offers cultivation techniques and engagement ideas that are beneficial not only for our major gift officers but for other departments as well, to engage and educate our graduate community.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

I don't like how I had to learn on my own about changes to the screening template because there wasn't a notification through email. This lack of communication and timing wasted some of my time, even though the screenings were refunded. I also found the knowledge base library not very intuitive to navigate, needing to open multiple tabs. It just wasn't very easy, leading to hits and misses while figuring out how to fully leverage iWave.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iWave to screen my donor database and build my major gift pipeline. It helps me quickly segment and prioritize new prospects for our major gift officers, leveraging internal giving data to enhance analytics and offering engagement ideas for our team.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi Amy,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad iWave has been helpful in building your major gift pipeline and supporting your team with segmentation and engagement ideas.

We appreciate your input on communication around updates and the knowledge base navigation. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll share it with our team to improve the experience.

Thanks for being part of the iWave community!

 ### 5. Keep rockin', iWave!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

iWave's VeriGift function is fantastic, and the exportability of foundation gifts as well is very helpful. I also absolutely love the screening options before each screening - it's thoughtful and very helpful to be able to change those ratings based on the purpose of each particular screening/project. That's huge.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

Their Foundations data is about a year behind oftentimes. It's still more current than the competition, but having to go elsewhere for 2024 Forms 990 and add those gifts manually for my team has been cumbersome. Also the orange-y format and thin lettering is a lot harder to read than their previous version.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

iWave is a time-saver through and through, and it's confidence ratings allow me to work efficiently and have better judgment about the work at hand. Its VeriGift capabilities are unmatched. Also, iWave's format structures, like the columns and filters available, pay attention to what matters without weighing down the work. It's very thoughtful and clear. It also benefits me by making so much of its data exportable to Excel. This allows me the flexbility to build my projects easily to the structures within my organization. That's huge.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Thank you for your enthusiastic review! We’re thrilled to hear how much you value iWave’s VeriGift function, screening options, and export capabilities. It’s great to know these features are helping you save time, work efficiently, and tailor projects to your organization’s needs.

We appreciate your feedback on the Foundations data and formatting. Your insights are incredibly helpful as we continue to refine and improve.

Thanks for your support and for being part of the iWave community—we'll keep rockin’, you keep rollin'!

 ### 6. Enhances Donor Prospecting with Easy Setup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** KristinAnn J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

I use iWave for donor prospecting and research. It helps me find more information about donors and easily discover new prospects. I really like the Smart Sheet feature, which we use the most, along with Smart Search. Smart Search allows us to quickly and easily find new donor prospects along with their contact info. Additionally, the initial setup of iWave was pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

It's not so easy to find emails for certain people and to also search funders of specific organizations. It would also be helpful to have a plugin for other CRMs like Raiser's Edge so that we can directly import people.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iWave for donor prospecting and research. It helps me find more information about donors and easily find new prospects. The Smart Search feature allows me to quickly and easily find new donor prospects along with their contact info.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi KristinAnn,

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad iWave’s Smart Sheet and Smart Search features are making donor prospecting easier and that the setup process was smooth for you.

We appreciate your feedback on email availability and CRM plugins. Good news, we do have a Raiser's Edge Integration: https://kindsight.io/integrations/, please feel free to explore that with your Client Success Manager!

Thanks for being a valued part of the iWave community!

Best regards,
The Kindsight Team

 ### 7. Powerful Donor Insights but Clunky Data Upload

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

I really like that once you're inside an iWave screening, it does a great job of getting in-depth information about donors. I appreciate that it provides kind of a global perspective on donor behavior, both politically and in terms of charitable donations. Once you upload data, iWave helps find a lot of useful information about those donors and can find comparable donors who exist in the same market space.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

In order to do an upload for iWave, you have to put the information in a very specific format, and it's not the format that your CRM or donor management platform will spit it out in. So that's really the only point of friction with the software. It's a little bit of a pain.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iWave to access high-quality donor data for our nonprofit clients, enhancing our communication with them.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Thank you for your kind words! We’re thrilled iWave is helping you gain valuable donor insights and enhance communication.

We appreciate your feedback on the data upload process and are always working to improve.

Thanks for being a valued part of the iWave community!

Best regards,
The Kindsight Team

 ### 8. Exceptional Onboarding and Comprehensive Data Streamline Prospecting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about iWave?**

I really appreciate the exceptional onboarding experience with iWave. The platform is very easy to use and they have really great customer service. I also find the data inputs incredibly comprehensive, providing accurate and up-to-date information essential for prospect building. Having all the data in one place is incredibly important, eliminating the need to manage individual subscriptions to databases like Database USA or ZoomInfo. The connection components are useful for understanding board relationships and connections, which adds significant value.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

I ran into some platform glitches, but the customer service team was immediately alerted, and the problem was solved.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use iWave for researching existing prospects and building prospect lists across different regions. It helps with collaboration and ensures my team is aligned in identifying and prioritizing prospects.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi Sara,

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re thrilled iWave’s onboarding experience and comprehensive data are helping streamline your prospecting efforts.

We appreciate your feedback on platform glitches and are glad our customer service team was able to assist quickly.

Thanks for being a valued part of the iWave community!

Best regards,
The Kindsight Team

 ### 9. Exceptional Team and Product That Continues To Grow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lia F. | Prospect Development & Research Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about iWave?**

I think the Kindsight/iWave team is the absolute best. Their product is amazing but every interaction I've had with the team has always been very professional, helpful and kind.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

There are a few features I wish were in certain areas of the program. Like the new custom fields in the screening section, I wish I could see those in the profile section. I wish I could better edit the PDF version of iWave profiles to include certain aspects and not others - there are often so many blank or almost blank pages of the PDF that I know my team will stop scrolling there.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adding the custom fields was great! My customer success rep has mentioned she'd share my idea about making the PDFs of each profile more refined in their design, too.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Hi Lia,

Thanks so much for your positive words. So pleased that the team has been professional, helpful, and kind throughout your iWave journey! Thank you for your feedback regarding custom fields in screening, we have passed along that feedback to our product team for future consideration.

Thanks so much for being part of our community.

Warmly,
The Kindsight Team

 ### 10. Great Tool for Prospect Research and Creative Prospecting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about iWave?**

iWave is fairly intuitive and easy to navigate. I appreciate the integration with our database for quick access to scores. I need to explore the Connections section of iWave, but like the idea behind it in finding potential pathways to prospects/donors.

**What do you dislike about iWave?**

For Alerts on specific prospects, it would be nice to be able designate an email address that we could have those automatically sent to - So MGO Mary is the relationship manager for John and Susan Smith then I could indicate MGO Mary's email address for where the alerts on the Smiths would be sent. When using the Donations Recipient search, it would be nice to be able to be able to see the donor's city/state location in the results list - this would be useful when finding prospects that have donated to another environment/conservation focused organization but live in a specific geography that we may be interested in connecting with prospects/donors.
I do not like that the login situation was changed mid contract. Being able to have two concurrent people logged in is far more useful for our organization and having it changed to only two logins period is NOT ideal. We are a smaller nonprofit and having to pay for additional logins is not ideal. This is a BIG detractor for me.

**What problems is iWave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a very useful starting point for determining a research wealth capacity and finding contact information. It can also be useful in doing funding scans for projects.

**Official Response from Bre Alexander:**

> Thank you for your review! You've provided great feedback that I will pass along!
