The new video recording functionality is great for compliance. **What do you dislike about Insightful?** Bulk delete under deactivated computers, their support does it for you, but it would be nice if i could do it. **What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been using Insightful for the past 6 months, and I must say it has been a great tool for our business. The software is straightforward to use and has helped us monitor the productivity and performance of our employees effectively. The real-time employee monitoring feature is very helpful as it allows us to see what our employees are doing on their computers and whether they are productive or not. The automated time tracking feature is also very convenient as it eliminates the need for manual time tracking, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors. We have also found the productivity analysis tools very useful in identifying areas where our employees can improve and be more efficient. UI is intuitive and smooth, not too cluttered but not too hard to find what I needed for setup. Above all I have been very happy with their support team, who have been quick to respond and address my questions. **What do you dislike about Insightful?** We had a bit of difficulty figuring out how to exclude certain users from the monitoring agent, but the support team was able to help us resolve the issue and we are now in a good spot. **What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Insightful is helping us manage a growing workforce that includes many employees who are mobile, full time remote, etc. It provides tools to allow us to create different profiles so that we are gathering the metrics we need from the right people. ### 3. The dashboard makes it easy to understand work time, productive time, idle time, app usage, and utilization without having to manually check every detail. For our takeoff/engineering team, the most useful part is being able to compare actual computer activity with assigned work. It helps management understand whether delays are caused by lack of productivity, workload overload, meetings, interruptions, or unclear priorities. The KPI options such as productive time, work time, utilization, meeting time, and manual time are helpful because they give a more complete picture of how time is being spent. Another benefit is that Insightful can support a pilot approach before rolling it out to the full team. Starting with one employee allows us to test the software, review the data, and decide how useful it is for tracking productivity and improving workflow. **What do you dislike about Insightful?** The main limitation I noticed with Insightful is that it does not fully support project-level tracking for our workflow. It is very useful for tracking work time, productive time, idle time, app usage, and utilization, but it does not automatically show which specific takeoff project an engineer is working on inside tools like PrebuiltML or other estimating software. For our team, we still need to manually enter project names, tasks, start/end times, and notes to connect productivity data with actual project progress. This adds some extra effort and may not be practical if employees are switching between multiple projects throughout the day. Another area that could be improved is integration flexibility. Some project management tools are supported, but we did not see a direct Smartsheet integration, which would have been helpful for our project tracking process. The Microsoft 365 approval process also requires admin review because the requested permissions are broad, so setup may take additional coordination with IT. **What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Insightful is helping us solve the problem of limited visibility into how work time is being used across the takeoff/engineering team. Before using it, it was difficult to clearly understand how much time was being spent on productive work, meetings, idle time, or switching between different tasks. The software gives management a better way to review work time, productive time, app usage, utilization, and overall productivity trends. This helps us identify whether delays are related to workload, interruptions, unclear priorities, or actual productivity concerns. For our team, the biggest benefit is that it supports more data-driven decision-making. Instead of relying only on assumptions, we can compare productivity data with assigned work and use that information to improve workload planning, accountability, and process efficiency. ### 5. The facility to review the activities the team made in their days **What do you dislike about Insightful?** Our system is 3 days at the office and 3 days at home. When I see our team in the office, some of them spend time on their personal phones and only move the mouse. So I think: if they don’t care and do that at the office, what are they doing at home? I love the screenshots feature, but they can still easily lie to the system. Another issue is that we made two computer changes for the same person. When we try to install the program again, it says the user is already linked to an account. Yes, but they changed computers, and it becomes very difficult to reinstall. We talked to support and followed the instructions they gave us, but we were never able to set the system up again on our company computers. One person on the team is using the computer like it’s personal because the app just doesn’t run with his user. **What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Whenever we have doubts about invoices or debts, they explain everything so clearly that we’re left with no questions. However, Insightful is a workforce intelligence platform, not a surveillance one, so someone that set on looking busy is something no non-surveillance tool would reliably catch. Where it shines is the wider read on your team, not gotchas on a stubborn few. The reinstall trouble is the other piece. It flags the user as already linked after a computer swap, and I understand why that's worn thin. It's fixable, though: there's a set process and articles for exactly this, and the same team that handles your billing questions so clearly can take you through it properly, step by step. I just click on the project for the company I’m currently working with, then hit play or stop to log my working hours. It only takes two clicks, and I’m ready to go. **What do you dislike about Insightful?** So far, I haven’t found any downsides to Insightful. My only recommendation is to make it clearer in the desktop app that computer tracking has stopped once the Stop button for logging hours is clicked. Additionally, on my desktop Mac, the initial setup was quite simple, and Insightful was easy to use. **What do you dislike about Insightful?** To be honest, the only obstacle I've had was when I went to use customer service, and I had a moment of temporary anxiety when there was initially only a three button choice for answer. I couldn't immediately type in a field, and that little moment of frustration was completely alleviated by the next step of conversation. It was just a little panic attack for a second. **What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?** The UI is better designed designed to me than other trackers; I feel confident that I’m not missing anything. There's a feature that functions like a proctor, recording what's happening, which I think is excellent. I also think the way that data is collected and used on the dashboard provides valuable insights. The dashboard/UI is clean and easy to use, making it a powerful tool to navigate. The response time of the dashboard and data is incredibly quick, giving you accurate on-time data. I've used the API as well to integrate the tool with Claude AI, providing a conversational style of interacting with the data. **What do you dislike about Insightful?** What I don't like is that employees can constantly be deactivated HOWEVER this is not a platform problem and is something that needs to be worked around internally. **What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?** I believe Insightful helps improve efficiency in the business and figure out blockers or problems.
