What do you like best about iconik?

-> Creating Low Resolution / Proxy video & asset from our own workstation or server, locally from the set or uploading on the road, to able editors starting the job and then relink with High Resolution, without wasting time

-> Creating & sharing collection for customers, faster than FTP or WeTransfer, able them to have a look at the file in their smarpthone before downloading High Resolution

-> Editorial partner / TV Channel can access our production efficiently with rights selection to watch videos and/or validate them and/or add comments for modificaitons

-> Backup offline on cold hardrive in the shelf and online on one NAS Synology and another NAS (disaster recovery) with Freeenas ... and always know and browse media files

-> Transfer / manage / drive files from one location to another location, which could be server or workstations or cloud ... thanks to the iconik ISG Gateway

What do you dislike about iconik?

Today, 2020.06.04 :

... no GPU acceleration

... OpAtom not supported

... managing & monitoring several audio tracks on a video file

... play more than 1 audio track with 2 channel L/R not yet available

... no way to rewrap / change audio track of a video media file from other audio files

What I like most about iconik is how effortlessly it keeps everything (and everyone) organized. Being able to comment directly on content makes collaboration so much smoother—no more scattered feedback or long email chains. The metadata it automatically pulls in is a game-changer too; it makes searching fast and intuitive, even when you’re juggling tons of assets.

I also love how easy it is to structure files in a way that actually makes sense for real workflows. And when you need to share something with someone outside your team? The storage gateway feature to allow tracking of assets in both cloud and on premise locations is a great feature that I use.

Sharing assets and collections out to non-Iconik is easy on both ends.

Customizable metadata filters are great.

Taking screenshots is quick and easy.

Price of Iconik is very resonable compared to other options out there. Definitely on the more cost effective end.

Easy API Integration into many other products.

Needs live ingest of assets.

Needs a basic editing tool to cut together different assets.

More AI integration for faces and logo's.

For being a startup company, Iconik is providing us with a great MAM at a great price. Having the ability to have our assets tracked in the cloud and on prem is a huge help for our editors. Storage Gateways are also allowing us to upload footage during a live sports broadcast to Iconik so that our editors can get to them remotely. We have editors and users all over the country. What do you like best about iconik?

What I appreciate most about iconik is its ease of use and implementation, and clean interface even with large volumes of media, it’s easy to search, preview, organize, and share assets. Also the number of features is impressive like remote collaboration and powerful search tools. What do you like best about iconik?

The flexibility and simplicity. It doesn’t try to do too much, but what it does do, it does really well. Being cloud-native makes collaboration super smooth, and I love how easy it is to search and preview assets. The UI feels clean and modern compared to other MAMs I’ve used. The most useful part of iconik is the ability to allow anyone to comment, review, AND upload. Our team has various creatives as well as various people of contact who need to review and give approval. This makes the process more simple and very transparent. It also gives creatives and designers more insight into the thoughts of the campaign managers, directors, and clients. Fresh interface, ability to do a "fake sign in" for other users to see if their account is behaving like you want it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iconik?

The search feature is very clunky and convoluted. While I prefer Iconik over CatDV, the CatDV remote query is how search should work. You pick a field (or fields) that you want to search and then you type in your keywords. No syntax, code, etc. It's very user friendly and quick to search huge numbers of files.
