The communication aspect.  I can reach out to whomever whenever. There are places for shout outs, group announcements, and individual messaging

Clock in is very pinpointed so it makes it hard sometimes.  Also it doesn't always allow them to clock in if not schedule inspite of having it as an option.

A hub for time and attendance. And great communication to ensure maximum responses and analyzing engagement. As well as punctuality and productivity

I love that Homebase has made it easy to set employee schedules. I love that everything is in one place and easy to use.

I wish that you could make group messages with all employees easier. I work in a hotel, and we need multiple chats for each department, including all employees.

easy to use and good overview and that get notifications when someone is late.

that you can't publish one shift at the time, and that's it's expensive compared to Wheniwork. Also calendar i showing from wed thru wed makes no sense.  and weird errrors happening on site. It keeps loggin out. when clicking thru site, it's slow.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

All in one. We and clock in, run payroll, and have a all in one place where employees can receive updates.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

They keep increasing the price, their print checks options do not include any info such as business name, account info etc.

They also keep spamming new employees with their cash out program and several of them were "forced" to enroll, believing they had to in order to get paid. Homebase needs to stop this practice.

I dislike how many things are locked behind a paywall and the price of services.

HomeBase is very easy to use..  In contacting Customer Service, they have been outstanding - very friendly, helpful and timely.

I wish we could run more ad hoc reports!

HomeBase keeps a dynamic record of time and attendance, pay increases, etc., without utilizing paper files.  I am definitely more productive!

The app itself is pretty easy and all the employees have no trouble using, as I input timesheets the Homebase features make it super easy process payroll.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

Nothing really.  I would love to bee able to add employee Id # to an employee profile.

Makes remote payroll easy, don't have to go into the actual building. Makes it easy to see employees on the clock without being present.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

We like the mobile app, the employees use it everyday and it works pretty well for timesheets. It is affordable and you are able to pay monthly or annually for a slight discount.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I REALLY DO NOT LIKE the fact that they solicit employees for cash advances. That is a breach of trust in my opinion. Reporting could be better too, allowing more detailed options.

It allows us to track time for our hourly employees. It allows for multiple "positions" within the company so a person can clock in at one time in job A and another time in job B.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

It's very easy to use and has a great partner app, but it is less robust than we were seeking in an HRIS system. We are coming from no timekeeping system when we started to use HomeBase, but are planning to switch platforms when we find a more robust system. 

The value is good for its limited function, but the version we have doesn't do everything we need (benefits, payroll, etc.)  which is why it's not a long-term solution for our business.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

It's pretty limited compared to other platforms. It's difficult to toggle between different employees, and at least our version requires managers to input all time, make changes, and add PTO manually - things that ideally employees can manage and managers only need to approve. (again, could be the way we are using it)

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does enable us to track our employees' time, and it is an easy and effective way for them to do that. We weren't tracking time as carefully prior but now that we've re-evaluated hourly-exempt vs salaried, we require an accurate timekeeping base.

It's easy to create a schedule! It also has an interview feature that allows you to schedule applicants and it sends emails to them for you.  You can also post hiring ads from here.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I wish I could adjust the length of the schedule.  For example, I schedule Tuesday-Monday, but the schedule builder only goes Monday-Sunday. I wish there was a "trial" feature so that people who are coming in for a shadowing day without being hired can be put on the schedule without counting as an employee.

It's got a very clean design, well laid out categories, places to log in time and user friendly. I didn't get confused by the navigation or feel overwhelmed by the sections even though there's quite a bit of content.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

So far I have not experienced anything that I strongly dislike. Sometimes the font/text can be a bit small but I may have to adjust this in my phone settings. And maybe a dark mode would be nice.

For me, I work from home and Homebase really organizes things well without feeling like I will be overwhelmed by the many sections or places to input my info. It's clearly laid out to manage for you.

Ease of use and accessibility. Homebase is comparable to much more expensive softwares. The text with link to download app feature is very nice.

It can be a little clunky at first to determine who needs what notifications. Once you have those setting adjusted, it is very easy to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

If you've never tried a scheduling software before, I think this is a great one to try. I highly recommend the app vs the mobile site and the desktop site is best for building out schedules

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to move away from a google/excel sheet traditional calendar schedule. This also allows staff to pick up and swap shifts easily.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

I think the best part about Homebase is how easy it is to request time off, check schedules, and contact team members. Everything is simplified and quick.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I don't think there's much i don't like about Homebase. I would say how logging isn't always the quickest. The app doesn't auto-fill the username or have the option to remember it. However, I can definitely see that as a pro. Privacy is something you would want out of a software that has personal information.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

I 100% recommend implementing Homebase into your daily work routine. Having everything in one place makes day-to-day life so much easier. If switching shifts is something that is allowed where you work. You don't have to get the manager involved and request a shift switch directly to the person taking your shift. Youre able to acess it from your phone, just donwload the app and you get easy acess to all of your information and schedules. Any request for time off can be handled striaght from the app.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When im home and not at work its super easy to log in and check my schedule or message teammates whose phone number i dont have. I can contact my manager, check my pay rate, request time off, etc. The list goes on.

Homebase is easy to use and manages all aspects of my teams scheduling, time tracking, and PTO.  It automatically notifies my team members of scheduled shifts, and texts reminders for shift start times.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

If you cancel a shift, it doesn't notify the employee that their schedule has been canceled.

We were able to use the time clock feature so team members clock in/out on their phones, receive shift reminders and schedules, and they can access notes about the shift so they know what to expect.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

Homebase provides an easy way to create staff schedules, allow clock-ins/outs, process time cards and chat with everyone in your organization. It's a great tool for managing time off, unavailable and preferred work days.  It's also super easy for our staff to find subs or switch shifts with other employees.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

They've strategically placed certain features within more expensive plans.  I don't need all the bells and whistles, but to get 1 extra feature I DO need, I have to bump up and pay a lot more money.  I wish they had an option to pay a smaller additional fee per feature you desire vs lumping it all together in large packages.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

When creating a full month of staff schedule, switch to "month view" to publish the entire month vs adding weekly. This makes it much easier and faster to update your schedule.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Homebase to schedule our entire staff, download timecards for use with square payroll, manage time on/off requests, chat amongst co-workers and clock in/out of shifts.  Our company is seasonal and, as a result, we tend to get people craving flexible schedules.  Because of this, there is a lot of scheduling adjusting/switching shifts/covering time-off that is the responsibility of the staffer.  Homebase makes it easy for these things to happen.  It's as simple as finding the shift, clicking a button to find a sub and then selecting other staff members.  It even goes as far to show who is available or already working that day, to make it even easier.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

I always used the free version of Homebase. At first, it was an amazing software for free, but over the years many of the features became unavailable with the free version. That being said, the free version, even with fewer features, was always sufficient for my small business with 5-9 employees. 

As the business owner, it was a huge benefit to be able to set the schedule and then let employees trade amongst themselves. This took a lot of time before Homebase, and not having to constantly change the schedule manually was a huge plus. 

I also appreciated the ability of employees to put in their schedules. I hired many college students and always prioritized their class schedules. They were able to add their schedules into the software which would then show me when each person was unavailable when creating the schedules. This saved a lot of time and reduced schedule frustration!

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I didn't love the constant reduction in features,  but I also understand that I was using a free version. If my scheduling needs greatly required the additional features I could have afforded the upgrade for my plan.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

Homebase is a great tool for small businesses. I could see it very quickly becoming hard to use with a large amount of employees

The ability for employees to take ownership of their schedules once they were published was a major issue before Homebase. Homebase streamlined scheduling in many was which was a huge time saver and stress reliever for me.

Not sure if there is something I like best. I guess the scheduler is easy.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I don't like the inconsistency of Sales data not being uploaded from Square, I don't like the reports, they are clunky and annoying to review.  When I was setting up Homebase we had so many issues with employee groups, company, job info, and areas they work. It was hard to get in touch with someone on the phone. They would not allow for certain reports like What was your Labor % for each day for the week.

This is not the best system out there. Too many issues, connectivity, terrible reports for sales and labor.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

I love how easy it is to use. I can hold all information about my employees there. They just created a new feature where you can upload their I-9 & W4. You can hire through there, you can create logs for your managers, it has an enormous amount of different reports to help your business. It is a beautiful system that is a pleasure to use for employees and managers. Our members can put their availability, trade shifts, ask for a cover. There is a chat option where you can send shout outs to people who went above and beyond. There is also a summary of employees at your need. It will show you how often an employee has come to shifts on time, what positions they work the most, how long they worked for the company. There are many great things about this software!

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

There are some small things that they are developing that since they are still in development stages they are not super versatile, but they always improve.

What I like the most is how easily you can see the schedules of the whole team and staff. It's very user-friendly and super easy to learn.

I dislike that you can't set times in availability for preferred and can't work. Such as: "I'm available from this time and unavailable this time" in the same day.

Group messaging is super nice when you have meetings and need to get messages across quickly. It also helps with being able to get shifts covered.

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

Homebase does the job it needs to by showing who is working when and during what shifts. You can request to trade shifts with another employee (which then requires admin approval). You can also ask for people to cover your shifts or pick up "empty" shifts. 

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

The app can be quite confusing. I often feel as if I run in circles to find certain functions. My biggest gripe about Homebase is how when you set your availability as an employee, it can only be set on a reoccurring week-to-week basis, so you have to "start a new availability" every single week if your ability differs from week to week, which is extremely common for shift workers. They should really just have it so you can set each individual day of the month, it would make the app much more valuable to employers and employees.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

Use this if you are looking for a free option and have a small operation, but otherwise, I know there are better systems available that may cost a little bit of money.

Homebase allows you to see who is working when from the comfort of your home and also sends you notifications before you have to work, so you never miss a shift!

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

We had issues with the guys signing in and out on the previous software we had used. It wouldn't log them in or out when they swore they had done so. Homebase has been performing so much better. The app rarely gives the guys any problems with logging in and out on their cell phones and notifies me if they forget to clock out. 

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I don't need the scheduling feature, but have no way of turning it off. I also wish there was a slightly better web-based sign in and out. They guys could never remember their pin numbers so we quit using it, but they have gotten used to using the phone app so we manage.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

This software is geared towards service industries, particularly restaurants. We just needed a simple, affordable app for the guys to log their time in each day. There are many features we don't utilize. but that I think would be really useful to other companies.

When we used paper timesheets, the guys would forget to fill them out, then just estimate their hours at the end of the week, often rounding up a bit more than they should. Using this app is much more accurate so we only pay for the hours worked.

It's free!  Homebase is pretty user friendly once you get everyone signed up and signed in.  The registration process is a little tricky, but after that it's very easy to use in order to schedule and track employee hours for payroll.

It is no the easiest process to add someone to your team if you do not follow steps in a certain order.  Also, it seems initially signing up is slow.

Great customer service, easy technology that gets the job done.

I can easily track the hours my employees have worked and create a schedule with my existing team.  It also gives everyone a central "place" to check hours instead of having to go to managers.  It streamlines the scheduling aspect of my business.

It is easy to see the entire workplace schedule. I can see exactly who is working where and what hours very easily. It is easy to trade/request off shifts. There is also a tab for “open shifts” that makes finding shifts to pick up very easy. 

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

The messaging on this app is the same as text messaging on a cell phone, which can get overwhelming and annoying if you’re also using text messaging to communicate with co-workers.

During a medical emergency, it was easy to see who was not working on the shifts I was scheduled, and therefore reach out to those co-workers for help covering my shifts- no unnecessary contacting those who were already working.

Dislike that it's more or less the honor system. My guys could give each other their code and clock each other in on our office tablet and bypass the geofence I set up for their personal devices

**What do you like best about Homebase?**

I like how every week, instead of just getting your schedule on the app, you also get texted your work schedule for the week. It was a little exciting waiting every week to see how many hours you would get scheduled in. You can also see when and if your co-workers are going to be in on a certain day or time period. So those that you are friends with, you can get excited about working the shifts with and you know who will be there during your shift. I also like how I can contact other employees through the app and even trade shifts with them or give them my hours. I know several times, employees I was friends with would give me their hours if they did not want to work that day which helped me a lot to get those extra hours in to make more money. It also helps with payroll because it keeps track of the exact time someone clocked in and clocked out of work so every minute counts.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I don't really dislike anything. I think it is a really great and useful app with a user-friendly interface.

**Recommendations to others considering Homebase:**

Use Homebase because it really keeps everything in regards to scheduling in one place: chatting with other employees, scheduling, trading shifts, giving your shift to someone else, etc.

**What problems is Homebase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easier to know exactly which hours you're working and who you are working with. It also is great because if you come to work early, you can sign in for those 15 extra early minutes (if your employer allows) which lets you earn money for that time. If you leave late and work overtime, that also gets recorded instead of just assuming you worked from 8-5.

Lots of different features on the app - shows earnings, lets you clock in from your phone (although I’ve found that feature glitches about half the time), and offers the ability to send group messages to staff members.

**What do you dislike about Homebase?**

I get text notifications reminding me about my shift which can get annoying (I’m sure there’s a way to turn this off but it’s automatic when you get the app). Also I think there are several features that are somewhat unnecessary and only serve as a distraction to the features on the app that are actually useful (i.e. “rate your shift” or “give a shout-out to a coworker”)

Good way to communicate with other coworkers all at once. It’s also nice to be able to clock in/clock out from my phone if, say, all the computers are being used at the time. Very efficient in that way.

My favorite feature of this software is how easy it is to share the work schedule across our entire team and how easy it is to manage requests for time off, availability, and for employees to also manage theie own time by specifically engaging other employees to request cover

The only downside to this program is the differences across the app on iOS versus Android and that sometimes employees cannot see who they are working with ahead of time before their shift

We're solving the issue of establishing the work schedule in an easynd accessible manner for all employees to see as soon as possible. An added benefit is how it easily calculates the wages an employee can expect and if they have an issue with their availability then they can find cover or trade a shift with another employee or immediately contact a manager to inform them through Homebase's messaging system
