"Flexible API and Helpful Support for Managing Classroom Tablets at Scale"
4/5
What do you like best about Hexnode UEM?

Having an API that allows us to create our own front end to manage our fleet of Samsung Android tablets means that we can lock them down and still have non technical staff manage their use with the students in our classrooms. Being able to also deploy new apps and updates to existing apps without needing to go to each tablet makes improving our programs offered to our students much easier. We had a number of Hexnode support staff who were really very helpful in the initial trails and onboarding of the system. The knowledge of these support staff is far more useful than the AI chatbot interface in the system itself and I would recommend contacting the account manager to arrange video conference calls with the support staff rather than rely on the AI chat. Initally the performance of the system was a little sluggish when trying to change the user and profiles of 90 tablets at the same time, however this appears to have improved in recent times. For us, the pricing is on the higher side of what we were expecting to pay compared to solutions from other vendors including Samsung themselves, however the inital support during our trial phase made this product the prefered solution compared to the competition. What do you dislike about Hexnode UEM?

The AI system for resolving issues leaves a lot to be desired. It regularly tells us to use features that don't exist, sends us to the wrong menus, and overall hasn't helped solve most of the initial problems we had with the system. This was recently exacerbated by a major change in the layout of the UI. The response time from the system when changing profiles/users on Android tablet devices is very variable and not completely reliable. While the interface says tablets are in a particular state, the tablets themselves could take 10 minutes or more before they reflect this state. In addition, we are seeing inconsistent application of users/profiles when we change multiple devices at once. While technical support via video conferences has been excellent, email support is somewhat frustrating as we seem to get different support agents who don't appear to look at the history of the support request and we end up back at step 1 with each interaction.
