I think honestly the best thing I can say about Hammr is that I very rarely have to think about them. They have taken the frightening process of New York State Certified Payroll and made it something that only takes a few minutes each week. The pricing is higher compared to other non-specialized payroll systems; however, the time it has saved us as even a small contractor has been absolutely worth it. Both the backoffice admin panel and the employee app are easy to use. In the rare instances when there is an issue, their team has always been responsive and communicative. The pricing is higher than something like Gusto. However, the industry-specific features that it offers make it good value. Sometimes the employee app can struggle with a weak cell connection, but even when that happens it's easy to allow employees to edit their timesheets (if you enable that feature).
