**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

Google Analytics 4 has become an essential tool in my workflow, especially because it helps me analyze website traffic from multiple sources. The event-based model helps me understand the full customer journey, making it easier to make well-informed decisions when working with paid media budgets across different tactics to maximize performance.

I also find the interface much more intuitive and easier to navigate. It allows me to coordinate tracking, such as Google tags alongside Meta pixels, which gives a clearer picture of cross-channel performance and attribution. Its real-time monitoring is excellent, with almost zero latency for live event tracking. The integration with BigQuery, along with the newer AI-driven predictive insights, provides a level of performance intelligence that didn’t exist before.

In terms of support, there still isn’t 1:1 support, and for the free version, we still have to rely on self-service (it may be different for enterprise versions). The paid version is an enterprise-level platform called GA4 360, and it costs close to $50,000 per year.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

The 24–48 hour delay in standard and exploration reports remains a major hurdle, and it’s not very helpful for teams trying to manage active campaigns. On top of that, the learning curve when moving from session-based tracking to event-based logic hasn’t felt seamless, which makes the transition more difficult than it needs to be. A more active, real-time guide would help users navigate the new platform and get comfortable with it faster.

**What problems is Google Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before migrating to Google Analytics 4, my workflow depended on fragmented, session-based data. It was hard to see how a single user engaged with my campaigns across different devices and platforms, and without a unified view it was also difficult to justify budget shifts with real confidence. Now we can track the full, event-based journey across multiple sources, which has made it easier to pinpoint where to allocate more media budget to get the best value.

**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

Google Analytics is a very good tool, especially considering you’re not really paying for anything. It offers a lot of features and is useful for tracking, although some features are now a bit buried in the interface. It still gives you a good visualisation of basic data, and with the AI integration of Gemini, it’s become a little easier to find information or pull out insights.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

Data quality has dropped over the years. I think this is partly due to GDPR, but also because Google Consent Mode has reduced the impact and usefulness of the data. As a platform, Google Analytics also didn’t improve with the move from GA3; the update hasn’t felt like a step forward. On some days it’s hard to find, or even get to, things that used to be easily accessible, and I end up buried in reports that don’t work very well.

**What problems is Google Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Analytics allows us to see how users navigate around our website, and it also helps us track conversion information, such as form fills and phone number clicks. This gives us more insight into real-world usage and how people actually interact with the site.

**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

I like that Google analytics has so much data it can get on the customers you have and that you know exactly where they come from how they got there and where they went on your site. Being able to integrate with Google Ads is nice as you can know exactly when someone bought a product by setting up a goal.

I love the Google site kit plugin they have brought out to be able to quickly get your wordpress site connected to Google analytics and Search console.  Those two in conjunction work extremely well and the setup is super easy and quick with Google Site Kit.

Also who can complain about free! It is a fantastic value!!

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

Sometimes there is an overwhelming amount of information that you can get.  I don't even understand it all so I probably use only 20% of what I could be using don't know if the help is the best.

Though they do have a quick view on the dashboard, having some kind of non advanced version with quick ways to get to things that you could switch from advanced to basic I think would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Analytics:**

If you have wordpress site use the Google plugin for it. Also check out videos on Youtube.

**What problems is Google Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem google analytics solves is who my customers are and how many of them come to the site. The benefit I liked was actually knowing how well my social media posts are doing by how many people come to my site from social media sites.

Being able to see not just how many people came but from where is handy if I look like I am getting a ton of traffic, but all of it is coming from a wrong country then I know I am either targeting wrong or there is a bunch of bot traffic.

**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

Honestly, the thing that stood out most for me is how detailed the data insights are. We can literally track where our visitors are coming from, which pages they spend time on, and how they move through the site. For our team, this has been a game changer  we can actually see if someone is wasting time on the wrong areas and redirect efforts accordingly.
The customization is also something i really appreciate. You can rearrange the dashboard, add metrics like bounce rate or specific events like add-to-cart, and save it all based on what the client or management needs at that point. No need to rebuild everything from scratch each time requirements change.
What really impressed me working in the aftermarket spare parts industry is the Purchase Journey report. It shows the full funnel visually so you can pinpoint exactly where customers are dropping off, whether its between viewing a product or actually adding it to cart. Once you see that, you can take targeted action like improving social proof or tweaking the UI. Very practical for factory owners or product-heavy businesses.
The real-time Insights feature also saves alot of time. Instead of digging through every single report manually, it automatically flags trends like which device types are peaking or which traffic sources are spiking. Super helpful when your managing multiple accounts.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

One thing that actually frustrated me in my day to day work is the data delay. sometimes we need to check performance same day to report to client or management but GA4 takes like 24 to 48 hours to fully process the data. and on top of that the numbers dont always match with what we see in our ad platforms which creates confusion during reporting.
Also when we shifted from UA to GA4 we lost all our old historical data which was really painful. we had years of trend data for our clients and suddenly we had to start fresh. maintaining two systems at same time was not practical at all.

**What problems is Google Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solves for me is figuring out where exactly my traffic is coming from. Before using GA4 properly i had no clear picture whether sales were coming from our which campaigns, organic google search or blog content. Now i can directly see which channel is performing and which one is just eating budget without results. for someone managing multiple clients in spare parts industry this kind of clarity saves alot of back and forth.
Another thing it helped us with is understanding why visitors leave without doing anything. we can now see which pages have high drop off and where people are loosing interest. based on that me and my team make changes to the landing pages or product listing pages to keep users engaged. its basically stopped us from guessing and started making actual decisions.
The purchase journey report is something i use very regularly now. it shows the complete funnel visually so i can see exactly at which step customers are dropping  whether they didnt reach product page, didnt add to cart or left during checkout. in one of our client projects i noticed mobile users were dropping heavily at checkout stage, turned out there was a technical issue on mobile that nobody had caught. GA4 helped us identify that and fix it which directly improved conversions.
Overall the biggest benefit is that now every decision whether its adjusting ad spend, editing a webpage or planning email campaign is backed by actual data. conversion rate, revenue numbers, bounce rate all of this sits in one place and i can present it confidently to management or clients without second guessing.

What I like best about Google Analytics is how powerful and flexible it is once you really get into it. Over the years, it’s become my go-to for understanding not just traffic, but actual user behavior—what people are doing on the site, where they’re dropping off, and what’s actually driving conversions.

I especially appreciate the depth of insights you can get with proper setup—things like event tracking, funnels, and audience segmentation. Being able to break down data by channel, device, or even very specific user actions helps a lot in making informed decisions rather than just guessing.

Another big plus is how well it integrates with other tools in the ecosystem—Google Ads, Search Console, BigQuery—which makes it much easier to connect the dots across campaigns and performance.

It does have a learning curve, especially with GA4, but once you get past that, it’s incredibly valuable for both day-to-day reporting and long-term strategy.

What I dislike about Google Analytics—especially after the shift to GA4—is the steep learning curve and how unintuitive it can feel at times, even for someone experienced.

The transition from Universal Analytics to GA4 hasn’t been the smoothest. A lot of the standard reports and metrics we were used to are either gone, renamed, or require custom setup. Something as simple as pulling a quick report can take longer than it should, especially if you haven’t already built it.

Another challenge is data consistency and trust. Between sampling (in UA), thresholding in GA4, and differences in attribution models, it’s not always easy to get numbers that align across platforms or even within Google’s own tools. That can make stakeholder reporting a bit tricky.

Also, while GA4 is more flexible with event-based tracking, it often requires more upfront configuration and technical involvement. For smaller teams or non-technical users, that can be a barrier.

Overall, it’s still a powerful tool, but it’s definitely not as straightforward or user-friendly as it used to be.

**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

The real upsides are that I can get clear, actionable data on visitors to my site. This includes what their landing page was, how long it took them to click, which page they went to next, and what brought them to my site in the first place. And the interface is very intuitive unlike other platforms. I have the free tier but even if I did pay the information that is presented makes it a small price to pay. It integrates well with my SEO platforms and even my ELK stack that I use for single pane of glass. Even with the integrations into those the speed at which the telemetry arrives is fantastic. And there was little to no difficult setup. The onboarding was simple and basically point and click. I use this data in conjunction with my ChatGPT chatbot for advice on improvement and other indicators that I might overlook

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

Not that much, honestly. That said, my site is personal and, in my mind, fairly simplistic, since I’m not tracking sales of services or goods.

Google Analytics helps us track our website performances in terms of trafic and turnover. We use the data every week for our acquisition review: we look at the conversion rate, where the trafic comes from, and we use the pixel to track the turnover made thanks to ads, or influence partnerships. The cost is very low, the integration with Meta and Shopify is great. The UX is not always the easiest to understand, but with a little experience there are a lot of reports and information you can get. We have implemented it with our ads agency at the time, but now we run it on our own. As far as I am concerned, I don't yet use the AI tools available.

I feel like adding new members in the team is not always the easiest and it takes a little time to understand how it works. It is definitely made for professionals that are used to digital marketing. But it is very complete and customizable.

**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

Overall Google Analytics is a great tool for monitoring website performance. You can track metrics like page views, session length, bounce rates, page sources, and more. The reporting tools are incredibly in-depth, and if used effectively, will help you understand what needs to be strengthened on your site. For example, using GA, we discovered that a recently announced product, which had a lot of hype around it, was not converting well. Although our page views were high, our conversion rates were very low (0.2%). We investigated further and discovered that our average engagement time was only 19 seconds, and most users were not scrolling below the fold. These metrics allowed us to make informed decisions on how to strengthen this PDP and increase sales. We added key features above the fold, more lifestyle images, and a demo video which in the following quarter increased conversion rates to 1.9% and average engagement time to 1 min 20 seconds. These are great results for entirely organic traffic, so we were extremely pleased in how Google Analytics helped us increase conversions.

Another thing I use GA for is to report the revenue generated by the many marketing platforms we use (Dotdigital, Attentive, Athos and more). Some marketing platforms' attribution models are too broad which can skew the results, and falsely claim attribution, but Google Analytics reporting is truthful and unbiased. So we use GA as our 'source of truth' for honest, unbiased reporting.

I use Google Analytics every few days to track our website data, and find it easy to navigate now that i've used it for over a year.

It can be a bit confronting at first, as there is a lot going on inside Google Analytics. I recommend following the native tutorials, and watching some Youtube videos to help you navigate the software.

**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

I’ve been using GA4 since the beginning of this organization, as it’s the industry-standard analytics platform for websites. It’s free to use, yet it’s a feature-rich performance tool. I especially like the Report snapshot feature because it saves time. We can quickly use the pre-built templates to review user behaviour, sales and revenue, and even marketing performance.

It also has a real-time user overview interface, which is very helpful for tracking campaign progress live. On top of that, we can see how many users are on different types of pages in real time.

GA4 is powerful, and with its default business objective section we can measure user acquisition, organic traffic, landing page data, and more. With the recent AI assistant integration in the Analytics Advisor, it’s easier to understand and analyze any property or KPI directly within the platform. We can also explore user attributes and demographic information easily.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

While it’s free to use, the built-in integrations feel very restrictive and are mostly limited to the Google ecosystem. If you don’t use Google products much, then GA4 won’t be very useful.

Onboarding is very straightforward, but there’s no direct access to live customer support if you run into issues. You generally need to be an enterprise customer to get even limited support, and trying to resolve questions over email can feel cumbersome.

**What problems is Google Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GA4 has boosted our marketing performance drastically. From tracking organic traffic across various sources to analyzing which pages get the most visits, we can more easily optimize our content and UX. The Funnel and Path Exploration features are real time-savers for uncovering hidden insights that our content team can act on.

When launching Google Ads, ingesting GA4 data is especially helpful because it gives more context to the ad engine, enabling more personalized lead suggestions and a more accurate view of potential client reach.

We also track conversions such as form submissions and subscription purchases to measure overall sales performance. From there, we segment customer LTV by device, technical specifications, and OS so we can build better, more targeted campaigns.
Lastly, using UTM parameters is so helpful that we can track every particular campaign based on the number of clicks, location and success rate.

I really value how Google Analytics makes it easier to see what conversions came from which sources of our paid media. I find it especially useful for providing better reports on lead data. It also aids in tracking the lift in website traffic when launching awareness ads. I appreciate the ability to track UTM URLs that we've implemented, as well as the different options available for tracking. We run a lot of paid advertising campaigns on multiple different platforms and UTM tagging our URLs allows us to better track them in GA4. It's helpful for pulling traffic and conversion reports by source and medium. Lastly, the initial setup was quite easy since they take you step by step.

I think sometimes exporting their reports is difficult. Also navigation sometimes is tricky until you learn the platform.

I've been using Google Analytics for a number of years now, and I'm really comfortable using it. I find the way it integrates with the other Google package systems to be really helpful. I use it a lot for SEO, especially how it integrates really well with Google Search Console, which I think is brilliant. The integration makes it seamless for me, especially doing SEO for an enterprise-level ecommerce business. The data marries up between one Google platform and another, and this level of reliability allows me to speak with confidence during senior stakeholder meetings. Google Analytics also integrates with a number of other SEO tools like SE Ranking and Semrush, which means we can see the tangible difference session data makes to rankings, helping evaluate their commercial value and visibility.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

It's not easy to use initially and requires a lot of training to get on board with it. The UX is poor and building out dashboards, while giving control and autonomy, is not easy to do. GA4 is far less easy to jump into than the previous Universal Analytics, making the transition difficult and time-consuming.

It helps me be proactive, not reactive. It takes the guesswork out of looking for our relevant audience and helps with evaluating and implementing keyword iterations where needed. I like the dashboards' functionality and ability to customize, and the integration of AI tools is a huge plus. The AI keyword and ad generators save me a ton of time writing ads that gain traction. I also enjoy being able to monitor everything from my mobile device, which allows me to be agile with my marketing decisions. The Ad Generators save me time and help me be more productive rather than editing and rewriting ad after ad. The initial setup was pretty easy.

I don't love that it is constantly pushing for automating everything, which often results in an increased spend without good reasoning behind it. I'm specifically looking at the recommendations, which feels like a constant upsell.
