To give you perspective, I use git every day, it's my bread and butter, and I thought to explore another client tool for Git. The first thing I liked about it was it had some customizations like drag and dropped support, unique staging capabilities, and grand themes. It did the job it promised, and it helped me manage my source tree. **What do you dislike about GitAtomic?** Well, even though I had installed it and tried it for some days, soon I understood I couldn't use it anymore cause it's 30 days trial period was getting over. I didn't intend on spending a single penny on that because there is plenty of tool out there that are offering the same features for a much lesser price or completely free. Also, even though it claims that it's very fast, it falls apart when it comes to any regular production app with a good amount of commits. **What problems is GitAtomic solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was managing my project's source tree, versioning, and doing collaborative coding management. ### 2. Excellent and intuitive user interface, but also a tad bit outdated compared to modern standards. 2. Good integration with tools like Microsoft visual studio. 3. Support for a native git terminal. 4. Comparatively much more affordable, even better option if used for the complete team. 5. Overall good experience with satisfactory results, that is for sure. **What do you dislike about GitAtomic?** 1. Although the user interface is definitely intuitive but needs a refresh as per modern standards. 2. Some good initial demo/tutorial for the new user for getting started. 3. They should provide some good tips and tricks. This will be very helpful. 4. Their docs need more detail and examples too. It should also add some tutorials like how GitAtomic can help in some tricky or critical situations. **Recommendations to others considering GitAtomic:** 1. You must first understand the basics of Git, working of git using git terminal. 2. Then, this knowledge will help you a lot while using this tool, making it 10x more straightforward. 3. Use it as a tool for collaboration with your team. **What problems is GitAtomic solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1. Version control all the code in all my projects. 2. Effective collaboration across my complete team. 3. Manage the complete development life cycle of pthe roject wrt to its code. 4. Track and share my work with others. 5. Tag all the releases and maintain version of the product, service, etc. ### 3. User friendly with feature rich utilities. The commits and tree status are upfront visible at all times. The search feature is well designed, allowing you to search based on your commit messages. The tool seems to be very light weight occupying less memory footprint on your system. **What do you dislike about GitAtomic?** The biggest drawback about this tool is that it is not a platform agnostic tool. I see that it has been designed using MFC framework and works only on the windows platform. Whereas my team works on a combination of Windows and MacOS and hence is not a suitable option to adopt at the organisation level. **What problems is GitAtomic solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem-solving feature of GitAtomic is that it gives you the current working context and is lightweight. Since there are memory constraints in most of our laptops, light weighted tools like GitAtomic plays a vital role in saving that extra memory usage. ### 4. My computer was not working as expected on intellije, and I found this is the only windows compatible app that can help control versions. It's speedy. It makes easy to push the code and merge branches which was difficult in other applications. **What do you dislike about GitAtomic?** It took much effort to search this application. This app needs more popularity. Other than that, there should be improvements in UI as well. **What problems is GitAtomic solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps to control over commits, versions, branches. Also, it is effortless to understand and use for beginners. Pushing code and merging branches are the two activities that I use the most. ### 6. It's yet another Git product for me to use.I appreciate that they baked in a CLI into it, but I already have git command an Git GUI on my windows machine **What do you dislike about GitAtomic?** I disliked that it exists. As I said, there are SO MANY Git programs to choose from that I am incredibly confused about which ones to use other than the standard Git and Git commandline that I already use. **Recommendations to others considering GitAtomic:** Just use a regular Git solution. It will do what you need it to. **What problems is GitAtomic solving and how is that benefiting you?** I just wanted to try another of the many Git softwares out there and see if I can replace the standard git programs I have used to manage and upload my programs since I began college. There was nothing really different for me than the original Git that I've been using. ### 7. It helps us in contributing our code, and we can collaborate with different engineers. Recently we have used GitAtomic in the BajajFinServ project.
