## Geotab Reviews
 ### 1. Simple, Fast & Friendly UI, good performance, with Handy Google Integration and Easy XLS Reports

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdul S. | GPS Monitor & Analyst, Transportation/Trucking/Railroad, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

What i liked the most about geotab was its simplyness of its UI its really quick and consumes little resources in my pc, the way they integrated google its really useful and practic, also, the way you can retrieve reports in .xls format from it was easy and very helpful in our daily tasks given by the GPS monitor and safety department.

The provider of geotab in our city was really eficient when it was recquired, covering that part of supporting us in time.

In resume you get what you paid for and more, its a very realible option in my opinion.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

When I was using it, there were a few occasions when all the vehicles stopped updating in real time. It didn’t happen often, and it was usually resolved within a few minutes. It was annoying, but the support team responded quickly and handled it in time.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very helpful in the fleet management, it simplified our proccesess and the way we manage the fleet reports like actual positions, distances left to arrive to the shippers, in terms of safety it helped us with their alerts via pop-ups in real time, preventing anti safety manners and giving solid prevention culture.

 ### 2. Geotab Review: Capabilities, Trade-offs, and Business Impact

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rayanne A. | Network Support Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The single most helpful thing about Geotab is how it provides complete visibility into your fleet operations from one centralized platform. Before Geotab, we had disconnected spreadsheets, manual driver logs, and no real-time understanding of where our vehicles were or how they were being driven. Geotab changed all of that by giving us real-time tracking, driver behavior insights, and fuel usage data all in one place. It has helped us improve driver behavior tremendously and hold drivers accountable for speeding and harsh driving through accurate reports.

The user interface is functional, though there is a learning curve. Once you get past the initial setup, it becomes a go-to tool for managing vehicles and improving efficiency. The platform is customizable to meet different business needs, and the custom reporting via Excel templates is particularly useful for tailoring data presentation to different groups within the organization. However, the interface can feel bulky at times, with common functionality buried under too many options. The design works, but it is not the most intuitive experience out of the box.

The integrations are where Geotab really shines. The Marketplace features hundreds of solutions across multiple categories, including asset tracking, cameras, compliance, fuel management, routing, and dispatch. This open platform approach means you are not locked into a single vendor for all your needs. You can piece together exactly what your fleet requires, whether that is dispatching software, maintenance tracking, or safety solutions. The platform integrates with existing ERP systems and other tracking systems if needed.

Performance has been reliable overall. The GPS tracking is consistently accurate and the platform handles real-time tracking without major issues. The hardware installation is straightforward, with the GO device plugging into the vehicle's OBD-II port. However, I have seen some frustration with hardware reliability, including reports of transponders coming unplugged or not updating mileage correctly. The platform processes substantial volumes of data daily, which is impressive, but accuracy issues have been noted by some users, particularly around speed limits being incorrect or routing estimates being off.

Pricing is where Geotab stands out from competitors. The upfront costs are lower compared to alternatives while still offering many comparable features. For smaller fleets and tech-savvy teams, it offers great value and is a scalable solution. The ROI is substantial, with telematics benefits far outweighing the cost of the service for any fleet operator. The cost savings come from improved fuel efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, theft prevention through stolen vehicle recovery, and better customer service through accurate billing and collision detection.

Support and onboarding have seen recent improvements. The platform now offers a new intelligent onboarding process that personalizes the experience for each user's role. When a new user logs in, they are greeted with a setup guide that asks about their job responsibilities, and the system automatically configures the dashboard and launches personalized quick start guides with step-by-step tutorials. This significantly reduces setup time and flattens the learning curve. The support team is responsive and willing to help with customization needs, though customer service is not always available on weekends.

The AI capabilities are genuinely exciting. Geotab Ace is an AI assistant that lets users query complex telematics data using natural language instead of SQL. You can ask questions like "What zones have the most amount of vehicles parking overnight?" or "How are my groups doing safety wise?" and get immediate, accurate answers. It is built on Google Cloud and powered by advanced language models, with a sophisticated framework that automates data retrieval and analysis. The AI explains its assumptions and the data sources it used, and data professionals can view the generated code for verification. Security is handled properly, with strict read-only permissions and no customer data being used to train the underlying AI model. That said, response times can vary depending on question complexity, and the feature is not yet supported in all security environments.

In short, Geotab is a powerful, cost-effective fleet management platform with an extensive ecosystem of integrations and promising AI capabilities. It requires some patience to learn the interface and occasional troubleshooting with hardware, but the visibility and control it delivers over your fleet operations make it well worth the investment.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The user interface is one area that generates a lot of feedback. While the platform is powerful, some users feel the interface has become needlessly bulky, with common functionality buried under layers of options. The removal of visual cues like colors from the navigation bar has made it harder to find things quickly, and this is not just a learning curve issue. Navigating to reports or specific functions often requires more clicks than should be necessary, and features can sometimes feel hidden deep within menus. It works, but it is not as intuitive as it could be.

Performance can be inconsistent. The core GPS tracking is generally reliable, but the platform can be slow to load, especially when querying a large date range or managing a sizable fleet. The mobile app and map interface can also lag, particularly in areas with weak network signals. There are also occasional data discrepancies between the mobile app and the web platform, which can create confusion when different team members are looking at different versions of the truth. I have also seen frustration with hardware reliability, including reports of transponders coming unplugged or not updating mileage correctly, and some vehicle makes and models not being fully compatible with certain features.

Support response times can be slow. When issues arise, getting meaningful help can take longer than expected, and some users have noted that the support team can be difficult to reach during weekends and after-hours. The knowledge base is extensive but dense, and finding relevant answers sometimes requires wading through a lot of documentation. We have learned to rely more on the user community, which is active and generous with advice, often providing more practical help than formal support channels.

The AI features, while promising, are still in early stages. Geotab Ace is a welcome addition, but it can be slow to respond, sometimes taking longer to process questions than we would like. It also does not handle all query types well, and more complex analytical questions still require manual work in the reporting module. There are also restrictions to be aware of, such as the AI not being available in certain security environments. It saves time on simple questions, but I keep my expectations measured and my reporting skills sharp.

Pricing and contracts have been a point of frustration for some users. While the upfront costs are competitive, the billing structure can be confusing. There are concerns about contract terms that may require returning units if you cancel, and some users have reported being charged for features they cannot use due to hardware issues. Software update costs can also be a surprise, and the GPS and installation fees are often hidden behind retail pricing. It is worth carefully reviewing the contract before signing.

The hardware requires ongoing maintenance. In colder climates, some users report that the devices do not function well in extreme temperatures, and battery drain can be an issue. There have also been cases where the equipment fails or cannot be reconnected without a professional installer, which adds to operational costs. Some users have had to replace transponders at their own expense, not covered under warranty, which can add up over time.

Despite these challenges, I still find Geotab to be a valuable tool for fleet management. The core capabilities are strong, and the platform delivers real business value. The frustrations are real and you need to go in with your eyes open, particularly around the user experience and hardware reliability. But with proper planning and realistic expectations, the benefits substantially outweigh the inconveniences. I would recommend it to fleet operators who need comprehensive telematics, with the important caveat that they should invest time in training and carefully review their contract terms before committing.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most fundamental problem it addresses is the lack of visibility. Before Geotab, many fleet managers simply did not know where their vehicles were, how they were being driven, or whether they were available for the next job. This created inefficiencies, wasted time, and lost revenue. Geotab provides real-time GPS tracking that gives managers complete visibility into their fleet operations.

Safety is another major challenge Geotab solves. Fatigue management is a serious concern, particularly in industries like logistics where drivers work long hours in remote areas. Geotab helps monitor driving hours and ensures compliance with regulations. The platform also provides driver behavior insights that help identify harsh braking, speeding, and other risky behaviors, allowing managers to coach drivers and reduce collision risk.

Cost control is a significant business problem that Geotab tackles directly. Fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and insurance premiums can quickly eat into profits. Geotab helps optimize routes so drivers take the most efficient paths, reducing fuel spend. It tracks mileage for maintenance planning so vehicles stay on the road instead of breaking down unexpectedly. And with driver performance data, fleets can reduce harsh driving events and unnecessary idling, which further improves fuel efficiency.

For companies that self-insure, the stakes are even higher. A serious incident can be financially devastating. Geotab provides collision reconstruction data that can prove driver innocence in disputed incidents, preventing costly claims and protecting both drivers and the company's bottom line. This data also helps fleets secure better insurance terms by demonstrating active risk management.

Sustainability is an increasingly important business problem, and Geotab helps here as well. With accurate mileage tracking and route optimization, fleets can reduce their carbon footprint. The platform also supports electric vehicle management by monitoring state of charge, battery health, and charging status, making the transition to EVs more manageable.

Operational efficiency is perhaps the most tangible benefit. Companies have dramatically reduced the time spent locating vehicles, coordinating transfers between locations, and responding to incidents. This translates directly to better service for customers and more productive use of team members' time.

In short, Geotab solves the fundamental problem of running a fleet blind. It turns vehicle data into actionable insights that improve safety, control costs, protect drivers, and make operations more efficient. For any organization that depends on vehicles to deliver services, it is a practical solution to real business challenges.

 ### 3. Geotab Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo R. | Auxiliar de Sistemas y Monitoreo, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Tracking of our units with continuous monitoring and telemetry. Its patented algorithm shows the actual route of the unit, without omitting any movement. It also allows us to identify driving habits, configure custom developments, and integrate with our clients. Additionally, we can schedule maintenance using telemetry. The technical support is good, navigation on the platform is easy, and speed alerts help us maintain better control of the operators for their safety. With Geotab Ace through its AI. Routes and geofences. Cost-benefit.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The Geotab service is experiencing intermittencies, which means that in certain situations we are left without service, and this can occur at times when workloads are higher. Although the browsing speed is good, this reduces performance.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Follow up when guiding our operators and be able to get them there faster and safer. More efficient journey reports. Their notification system helps in tracking mirror accounts for our clients. Engine stop.

 ### 4. Good Software for Fleet Management, Some Learning Curve But Worth It

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shrinivas, B. | odoo consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Real-time tracking is the best part for me, honestly yaar. Before Geotab, a driver would say, “Sir, two minutes only,” and then we’d end up waiting thirty minutes. Now I just open the dashboard and see what’s actually happening, oh, he’s still on the highway, okay, fine.

The fuel reports are also very helpful. Every week I check who is doing harsh braking and who is speeding too much. We had one driver who was always over-speeding, but he would never admit it. Then I showed him the data on the screen, and he had nothing to say. After that, he improved a lot.

The dashboard isn’t too complicated either. My operations guy isn’t really into computers, but even he learned within a week how to pull the reports. I wasn’t expecting that, so it was a good surprise.

One more thing: the alerts we set up, like if a vehicle is moving after office hours or if the engine is running too long without moving. One night we got an alert that a vehicle was moving at 11 pm, and nobody was supposed to be driving. We called the driver immediately. That feature alone is worth it for us. It gives real peace of mind when you’re managing so many vehicles.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Honestly the main problem is the interface it is a little bit overwhelming when you first start using. So many menus, so many options, you don't know where to go. First two three weeks I was totally confused, had to call support many times.

And the mobile app it works, but it is not as smooth as the main website. Sometimes it is slow to load, sometimes tracking is not refreshing properly. For me personally I am doing most things on laptop only, but my operations guy he prefers phone and he always complaining about this.

Customer support also sometimes ticket is raised and then two three days no response. For urgent issues this is very frustrating. Once our tracking was not updating for few vehicles and we had to wait almost one full day to get proper help. That time we were totally blind, no idea where vehicles are.

Pricing also I will mention it is not cheap yaar. For small fleet owner like me, the cost is feeling a little high sometimes. And if you want some advanced features, that is extra cost on top. So you have to plan budget carefully.

And one more small thing the report customization, it is there but it is not very intuitive. Sometimes I want simple custom report and I have to spend too much time figuring out how to set it up properly. Wish it was little more simpler.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Geotab, managing fleet was very headache. We had no visibility, driver will say vehicle broke down somewhere, we have no way to verify. Fuel bills were coming very high every month but we don't know why exactly. Lot of guessing was happening.
Now situation is totally different. Fuel cost has come down maybe fifteen to twenty percent because we can see idling time, we can see unnecessary long routes drivers are taking. That is direct saving in our pocket every month.
Driver behavior also improved a lot. Before nobody was accountable accident happens, everyone is saying "not my fault." Now we have data exact speed, exact braking, everything is recorded. Drivers also know they are being monitored so automatically they are driving more carefully. Less accidents, less vehicle damage, insurance company also happy.
For customer side also big improvement. Before customer will call and ask "where is my delivery" and we have no proper answer. Now we can tell exact location, exact estimated time. Customer satisfaction has gone up, we are getting less complaints.
Compliance and maintenance also, Geotab is reminding us when vehicle service is due. Before two three times vehicle broke down on road because we forgot maintenance. Now that is not happening.

 ### 5. Dynamic interface, predictive AI, and robust reports for proactive fleet management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joahan Gerardo A. | GPS Monitorista, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

This system stands out for its dynamic interface and a notably faster and smoother user experience compared to other solutions on the market. Beyond its operational agility, the platform enhances asset management through the integration of Artificial Intelligence, which allows for predictive analysis of fleet status and automates real-time anomaly detection. This complements the high precision of the GPS and the robustness of its detailed reports, enabling proactive management of critical alerts during the journey. Additionally, its architecture allows for seamless integration with external systems (ERP or CRM), centralizing information and ensuring total control, all backed by specialized technical support that ensures operational continuity.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Although the GPS accuracy is satisfactory, the platform has experienced general intermittencies at various times of the day which, despite being addressed swiftly, tend to coincide with periods of highest operational demand. This situation compromises the continuity of real-time monitoring right at the most critical work peaks, making it difficult to constantly track the units and affecting the efficiency in logistical decision-making.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform is quite agile and greatly facilitates the tracking of units, especially when managing a large fleet of vehicles. It proves to be a very practical tool if what you are looking for is to have solid evidence before different institutions or clients, as it offers a wide variety of detailed reports on all activities and movements carried out. This allows for constant and professional control of the operation, ensuring that there is always clear and precise information available to support the work of each unit.

 ### 6. Geotab’s Powerful Reporting, Integrations, and Real-Time Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew C. | Business System Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Geotab is a feature-rich telematics provider with a broad range of applications and functionality for fleets. It’s a well-developed product that delivers real-time, actionable insights. Reporting is especially powerful and is one of the most commonly used features in our organization, both through the out-of-the-box reports and the custom reports. The integrations it offers are also very powerful and we use regularly.
They have recently launched an AI reporting enhancement which has answered many questions for us about our data.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The User Interface/portal can be intimidating for first time users and slightly cumbersome but with enough training and guidance it becomes more familiar over time.
We would also say that maintenance tracking side of the application is also very basic and not a replacement for more advanced software applications that specialize in this space.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that Geotab solved for our organization was fleet visibility. We had operated for a long time with zero insights and knowledge of our vehicles until we installed Geotab and over the course of the project vastly improved the metrics and data that we never had before to inform our team and vehicle operations.

 ### 7. Powerful Asset Tracking with Smooth Zoom, Reporting, and Dash Cam Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay G. | Safety Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

It allows us to track our moving assets, generate reports on fuel mileage, notify mechanics when trucks are nearing their service hours, and pull dash cam footage for review. the ability to one click zoom in on a group of assets feels quick and smooth has the benefit of quickly review where any group of assets are parked/moving.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The reliance on cellular data has become a major hindrance for us. Even simple valleys along the road can cause our units to lose connection. When our drivers travel into the Northwest Territories, they often don’t have a strong enough signal, which prevents us from tracking them to confirm they’re still moving and safe. Although the units do come back online eventually, the downtime creates a stressful situation because we’re unable to communicate with our drivers until they reach an area with a stronger signal.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Geotab, we were having to track all of our fleets kilometers driven manually through odometer readings at each unit's fuel up. By having Geotab linked to our units, tracking units kilometers driven has become a breeze through generated reports. Then, when comparing to fuel costs, the fleets fuel mileage and consumption has allowed us to properly account for our fuel mileage and prepare a stronger budget. With the mandate of electronic logs, the HOS component has improved our companies ability to remain compliant with federal regulations.

 ### 8. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily G. | Compliance Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The platform is user friendly and our drivers are able to learn how to navigate it easily. I like that our drivers can use it on their company issued tablets as well as their personal phones and the data is seamless no matter what device they use.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

I wish it was more customizable. I also wish the reporting was easier to use. I also wish there was better training available for drivers. Specifically on how Geotab manages the split sleeper provision. A lot of our violations come from drivers not realizing their Geotab registered a split sleeper after a 2 hour break but they don’t do 8 in the sleeper so it goes back and takes that extra 2 hours from them. I think there should be a button that they have to select to use the split sleeper instead of it being automatically applied.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab's Hours of Service platform is super easy to use making my role as compliance manager easier. I am able to track unidentified drive time easily and assign the drive time to the appropriate driver.

 ### 9. Real-Time GPS Tracking and Custom Reports in One Powerful Dashboard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor O. | Technical Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

What I like best is the real-time GPS tracking and how everything lives in one dashboard. I can see where every vehicle is at a glance, pull up trip history, and spot issues like harsh braking or idling without digging through separate tools. The custom reports are a big plus too, since I can set them up once and have them land in my inbox automatically

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

My main gripe is that the interface can feel cluttered and the learning curve is steeper than it needs to be. Finding a specific setting sometimes means digging through several menus, and some of the more advanced reports take trial and error to configure. The mobile app also feels a bit limited compared to the desktop version, so I usually wait until I’m at my computer for anything beyond a quick check

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab solves the problem of having no clear visibility into a fleet. Before, knowing where vehicles were, how they were being driven, and whether they were due for maintenance meant chasing people for updates or relying on guesswork. Now it’s all in one place. The biggest benefit for me is the time saved. I’m not manually compiling mileage or trip logs anymore, and the automated alerts mean I catch issues like speeding, excessive idling, or upcoming service needs before they become real problems. It’s also helped cut fuel costs and made it much easier to justify decisions with actual data rather than hunches.

 ### 10. Great Real-Time Tracking and Trip History

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I like that I can see where assets are in real time. The trip history is excellent; if I get a driving complaint, it makes it much easier to identify the offender. I also appreciate being able to schedule recurring reports, so I don’t have to manually run them every week.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Reports aren’t intuitive and can be cumbersome to run when you’re trying to pull the specific data you need. Because the assets are pinged periodically, you don’t always get precise data for location, speed, etc. Also, if a vehicle is crossing over another street or highway, the posted speed limit may be pulled from the cross street, which can make it look like our driver is speeding when he isn’t.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real-time coaching for our drivers when we receive a driving complaint helps us stay ahead of poor driving behavior and, hopefully, prevent an accident in the future.
