What do you like best about Froala Editor?

Honestly, the thing that stands out most is how good it looks it's easily the cleanest, most modern WYSIWYG editor I've used. The "Smart Toolbar" is super smart: it stays out of the way so the screen doesn't feel cluttered, but you still get quick access to tons of features (over 100, seriously).

Integration with our frontend frameworks was a breeze too. We use React (with TypeScript), and plugging Froala in felt completely natural no weird workarounds or hacky feeling at all. Same goes for Angular or Vue if that's your stack.

The paste-from-Word functionality is probably my favorite practical win. Our team constantly copies content straight from Word docs (or sometimes Excel), and most editors turn it into a horrible mess of inline styles and junk code. Froala actually preserves the formatting you want while cleaning out all the unnecessary garbage. It saves so much time fixing stuff afterward.

Also, having Filestack built right in is a nice touch. Image uploads and storage just worked out of the box no extra setup or third-party headaches. It made media handling feel effortless for our content creators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Froala Editor?

The licensing tied to domains can get annoying when you're juggling multiple environments (like dev, staging, prod, maybe a few client-specific ones). It's not terrible, but it requires some extra attention.

And yeah, it's definitely premium-priced. If you're only after super basic rich text editing, the cost might feel steep compared to free/open-source options. But for what we needed, the quality justifies it.

What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were tired of non-technical people (marketing, writers, etc.) pasting content and accidentally wrecking the site's styling with dirty HTML. Froala gives clean, semantic output that plays nice with our design system no more surprise layout breaks.

On the dev side, building a custom editor from scratch would've taken forever. We got Froala up and running in our React app in just a couple hours, thanks to their solid docs and framework wrappers.

The Word/Excel paste issue was a constant pain point before formatting would either disappear or explode into weird spans and styles. Froala handles it better than anything else we've tried, so our users can copy-paste without us having to clean up afterward.

The UI used to feel clunky in our internal CMS. Switching to Froala's lightweight design and that smart toolbar made a noticeable difference people actually enjoy using it now, and adoption went up.

What problems is Froala Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of our biggest headaches was letting non-tech folks—like marketing or content writers—create rich pages without totally messing up the site's design. You know how it goes: they paste something in, and suddenly you've got weird spacing, broken layouts, or a ton of ugly inline styles and junk HTML. Froala really nails this by spitting out super clean, semantic code that stays true to our site's structure—no more surprise disasters.

On the dev side, we didn't want to waste months building our own WYSIWYG from the ground up (that's a nightmare project). With Froala's great React and TypeScript support, we had it hooked up and running smoothly in just a few hours. Huge time-saver.

Then there's the classic "MS Word/Excel paste" nightmare. Our users copy-paste from documents all the time, and most editors either strip everything or dump in a pile of garbage code that breaks styling later. Froala is honestly one of the best we've seen at keeping the important formatting (bold, lists, headings, tables) while quietly ditching all the hidden junk. It saves our team hours of cleanup every week.
