"Foxit’s Document Compare Tool Saves Hours on Revised Drawing Sets"

What do you like best about Foxit PDF Editor?

Honestly, the document compare tool is what stands out most for me. When our MEP consultant sends back a revised mechanical background, I can overlay it against the previous issuance right in Foxit, and it flags exactly what changed, like a duct that shifted two feet and now clashes with my reflected ceiling plan. Catching that in seconds, instead of having to eyeball a 50-page set for differences, has saved me more than a few headaches when I’m close to a deadline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Foxit PDF Editor?

I think honestly, the biggest headache for me is editing text on drawings that use our custom title block fonts. If I spot a typo, like the wrong sheet number or a misspelled room name, Foxit doesn’t always recognize the exact SHX font that comes over from AutoCAD or Revit. Instead, it swaps in a generic fallback, and suddenly that one line looks totally different from everything around it. On a client-facing set, that’s pretty embarrassing. What problems is Foxit PDF Editor solving and how is that benefiting you?

For the most part, it solves the “stop-the-job-site” problem during construction. When a contractor sends an RFI about a framing detail, I don’t want to reopen the full Revit model just to answer one small question. Instead, I pull that single detail sheet from the master PDF, sketch the clarification directly in Foxit, flatten it, and send it back. What used to take 20 minutes and pull me out of the model is now a 2-minute turnaround, so the crew isn’t standing around waiting on me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
