## Flywheel Reviews
  ### 1. Poor Support Overshadows Easy Migration

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake H. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I use Flywheel for hosting my WordPress websites. It was easy to migrate four years ago. My sites are online most of the time.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I actually hate using Flywheel, and the customer support is terrible. I was under the impression that we switched from annual to monthly billing. Our sites were taken down, and when I reached out to Flywheel to sort everything out, they said I had to pay the full annual fee and then they would prorate me and switch me to monthly. When I asked for basic numbers, I got ghosted and support has been totally unresponsive for three days. Even though I've been a loyal customer for four years, I can't get a hold of support. No one will respond, even to basic follow-ups.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel solves the hosting for my WordPress sites, keeping them online most of the time.

  ### 2. Gret Starter Hosting Platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel makes it easy to get started and the support is helpful. Their dashboard is easy to navigate and their products are simple and clear to understand.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Some advanced hosting available on other platforms are missing such as limited control over wp-config and htaccess files, customizable redirects.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel provides a clean and easy to entry level hosting solution for website owners. They offer great support and fair pricing.

  ### 3. Durability and simple construction and installation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gonzalo O. | HR Systems Analyst, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel simplifies the process of creating clean WordPress environments for testing themes & plugins. I would like to point out that the interface is quite clear and the stand presets are very useful to me.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

By Flywheel is unmistakably local and it gives quite a peripheral impression from the main Flywheel hosting service. To transfer the changes I make on my local site to the actual Flywheel-hosted site, I have to export and import my site, which is not efficient, particularly for large projects.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel has enhanced my working process with WordPress. Local by Flywheel enables me to make trials in a controlled environment without having to influencing the live site.

  ### 4. Excellent, excellent, excellent, but...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil H. | Free Lance Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Ease of use, website speed and backup. Restoring to a previous version is very easy. Customer service is very good, but has slipped recently.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I've been with Flywheel for 4 years. Technically, it's the best I've ever seen. Speed, uptime, interface all excellent. But this is not the best hosting for 1 or 2 websites. This is a professional-level, agency-oriented hosting company, evolving toward agencies with 20 or more clients. Pricing recently changed from 4 choices to 2. You can have 1 website or 10, there's nothing in between. I just don't need 10 websites. Also, customer service is slipping. Used to be, I'd get a support ticket response within 15 minutes. Now, it's more than 24 hours.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

"What problems is Flywheel..." is incorrect English... C'mon, guys.... Learn to write.

None. I run 2 websites of my own and although the technical performance of my website is superb, and customer support is slipping. Plus, it is WAY too expensive for just 2 websites. This is an agency host.

  ### 5. Great platform and support for medium sized web presence

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick S. | Operator Training Communication Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

By far the best support I've received from a hosting company. They are very quick to answer questions, and you get to speak to a live person right away. Their management interface is super simple to navigate and includes many features you have to pay extra for with other providers. SSL, backups, etc., are all included and very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

When our website needs to send a lot of notifications (password resets, purchase confirmations, etc.) in a single day, we've exceeded our email limit and Flywheel shut down our email. This led to hundreds of customers not receiving notifications for the time it was down, and this has happened multiple times. We've not been able to get a solid number from them on email limits, or any solution for increasing those limits.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple Wordpress hosting with excellent 24/7/365 customer support.

  ### 6. After hosting with 'the other guys' - we've found our 'Forever Host' with Flywheel

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie H. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The support with Flywheel is second to none. More than once now, they're support has included Wordpress troubleshooting - going way beyond troubleshooting server level issues and helping us out in pinches with issues caused by themes, plugins and API outages.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. There are a few features in the backend that I wish could be done globally (removing or adding collaborators) but no big issues have come up in 5 years with Flywheel.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

The quality of support is second to none. It's a email based support system - so no waiting in queue in a chat (like the other guys). If you view their Flywheel Agency Partners group on FB you will see the quality and love for this product.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting of 133 websites, with daily backups and quick server support. The Free Website Migration tool alone saves me so much time - and my productivity = $.

  ### 7. The Best Managed WordPress Hosting for Agencies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Their choice of Google Cloud Platform, Growth Suite, client reports, and billing capabilities using Stripe are exceptional features for agencies that you don't want to miss.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

There's not much to dislike. The minor issues may seem significant, but it's just a matter of voting for your feature and hoping it will get implemented. Staging backups are missing, and that's all to complain about for now.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

If you're not an agency, Flywheel still has solutions, such as the Tiny plan for $13 per month. You can always add collaborators to your non-agency account for other clients so you can manage their accounts.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been hosting our clients at another host that does not offer managed WordPress hosting with the ability to send out client reports and also send out invoices for work done. Flywheel helps us do all that and be super-efficient.

  ### 8. Good hosting solution for non-member Wordpress websites

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith E. | Web Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel has a simple dashboard, and it is easy to find the main tools you need to manage your WordPress websites. You can set up free SSL, get an overview of your plugins' status, visitor stats, and backups at a glance. Support is readily available via chat or email. I recommend Flywheel as a solid solution for lower-traffic sites that don't have a membership or eCommerce shops.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Their services Performance Insights is too expensive and should be offered on all plans. I don't understand why they charge extra for this. They also don't give up much information about the server setup. This normally isn't very necessary, but makes it difficult to run anything that requires any heavy resources, such as busy membership or eCommerce websites.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very easy to manage client websites from their dashboard. Clients like it because it isn't cluttered with technical details. Agencies will enjoy the ability to create a template site and clone sites quickly to get started on new projects. For the most part, support is pretty good, especially for standard requests. They are friendly and pretty quick to respond. It is easy to manage many sites and hand them off to clients if they want to leave your services. They also have a great blog and seem to care about the community. Staging sites can be spun up in a matter of minutes and backups are as easy as clicking a button.

  ### 9. Flywheel is as easy as one, two, three!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camille S. | Project Manager/Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I really like that Flywheel has easy-to-use and easy-to-understand server management, site backups, and one-click site restoration. I also love their Local feature where you are able to edit WordPress sites on your local server, or restore a backup to the local server to grab media or something else that was lost.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I dislike that their support team can only direct you to articles rather than going in and doing difficult tasks on your behalf.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

It is easy to use for people that are not experienced developers, but their support team is not super helpful. You will 90% probably have no problem using it but if a bigger issue occurs then you may be stuck without developer or IT help.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a web design company and one of our white label clients uses Flywheel. It is a good solution for him since he is not a developer, but a designer. We are able to collaborate easily with him using flywheel.

  ### 10. Excellent host for WordPress based sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle S. | UI Design Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

What attracted me to Flywheel was the ease of use, pricing, and features. I had previously used several other hosting companies, mainly WPEngine and Flywheel I found to be more user-friendly. The bulk packages were a real draw, and although it's a different product, their Local development software was a breakthrough making local dev and deployment a breeze. It has a modern interface that's much easier to use than the competition, it's much faster to setup a site and I receive updates as the deployments are happening.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Sometimes a site will lock up for no apparent reason or won't update on code deployments. Most of the issues stem from their Local development product.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

I would recommend to anyone who is needing WordPress hosting to use Flywheel. I haven't found a site that didn't work better with them compared to the competition.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Flywheel for effective WordPress hosting, and Flywheel is a game-changer in how quickly I can get a site online and work seamlessly with it locally.
