What do you like best about Fluid Topics?

Fluid Topics has been a strong strategic fit for our complex documentation environment. It is now the central platform for our extensive, multilingual product documentation on the extranet, Regardless of whether the source is DITA, Microsoft Word, Atlassian Confluence, or another format, the content is delivered as one coherent experience. Its multi-source approach even allowed us to modernize content delivery before completing our migration to the new authoring CCMS, keeping documentation available throughout the transition and providing readers with a seamless experience regardless of the underlying source system.

As an organization operating in a highly regulated industry, we particularly value the granular access controls that integrate seamlessly with our SSO, as well as the platform’s metadata support, customizable user experience, analytics, and readiness for our AI integrations.

Throughout the evaluation and implementation—and beyond—the Fluid Topics team has been highly responsive, very supportive, technically proficient, and strongly customer-oriented. Direct cooperation between Fluid Topics and the provider of our new CCMS was also a major advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fluid Topics?

Managing large numbers of publications and metadata required more overview and bulk-management functionality than the standard platform provided, so we built an API-based tool for uploads, deletions, and metadata updates. We appreciated that Fluid Topics provides the API that made this possible.

Fluid Topics is continuously introducing new features and staying ahead of evolving content delivery needs. Many capabilities we requested are already on the roadmap or in development, and we look forward to benefiting from these improvements. My recommendation is to allocate sufficient resources to test and implement updates. Changes or enhancements to the user interface may also be required. Fluid Topics is highly customizable, which is a major strength. The built-in UI Designer is fun to use, but does require CSS knowledge for customizing details. What problems is Fluid Topics solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our previous documentation landscape was fragmented across PDFs, Confluence spaces, and other systems, forcing users to navigate multiple platforms. Publishing used to require substantial manual effort and provided little insight into content usage.

Fluid Topics gives us a single, secure entry point for documentation with role-based access and consistent branding. Customers use the same interface as well as comprehensive search and filtering capabilities across the entire documentation landscape. Users benefit from bookmarks, direct URLs, saved searches, and user-curated personal books—capabilities that were unavailable in our highly heterogenous previous solution.

Our internal and external users are looking forward to Fluid Topics’ chatbot, which is already available and which we plan to implement next. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
