What do you like best about Fireflies.ai?

Fireflies Notetaker has become less of a transcription tool for us and more of a searchable memory for the project. During meetings, I can focus on dependencies, blockers, and where the conversation is headed, instead of trying to capture every decision while I’m also facilitating. The transcripts, AI Summaries, and Action Items give me a record I can reliably return to later, including the exact point in the conversation where something was discussed. AskFred is what I use most after the meeting. On longer projects, I can ask what we agreed on about an integration, which risks the client raised, or who took ownership of a follow-up, without replaying an hour-long call. Tasks and integrations with tools such as Asana, Jira, Slack, and Microsoft Teams also help push useful outcomes beyond the meeting summary. We use AI Skills to turn conversations into more structured outputs and to automate what happens next, rather than leaving every meeting as another document nobody opens again. The Desktop App has been useful when adding a visible bot would be awkward, and Live Assist gives us a way to query context while the discussion is still happening instead of waiting until the meeting ends. What do you dislike about Fireflies.ai?

The AI still needs a human check before its interpretation becomes part of the project history. Exploratory conversations, in particular, are easy to overstate. If someone says Friday “could work,” that’s very different from actually committing to Friday, yet an automated summary can make those two statements look uncomfortably similar. Before anything important gets pushed into the project workflow, I double-check owners, dates, decisions, and commitments. The transcription saves me from having to reconstruct the conversation, but I don’t let it decide which parts of that conversation become official. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Fireflies.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?

That distinction mattered on an implementation project where meetings had piled up across product, engineering, operations, and the client. In one review, a disagreement surfaced about who had approved moving an integration into phase two. Rather than digging through Slack or relying on everyone to recall a conversation from weeks earlier, we used AskFred to search across the meeting history and quickly found the discussion where the client accepted the change, but only on the condition that a technical dependency was resolved first. The transcript captured that condition clearly, and as we reread it we also noticed an Action Item that had been assigned during the call but never made it into the backlog. After that, we set up a workflow to push selected action items into our project tool and standardized AI Summaries around decisions, risks, and next steps. In the first week, Fireflies assigned a couple of actions to the wrong person when several people spoke over each other, so we added a quick review step before syncing tasks. Fireflies didn’t eliminate the need to document decisions carefully, but it did make those decisions recoverable, reduced arguments over what had actually been agreed, and kept important follow-ups from depending on whoever happened to take the best notes that day.
