## FileZilla Reviews
  ### 1. FileZilla, the FREE Monster FTP Client!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert M. | Retired, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about FileZilla?**

I like using FileZilla for several reasons, but I think the most important reason for me is that FileZilla is the universal, cross-platform FTP client. When I have to work with tech support or a client in an FTP situation, Filezilla is the FTP app to use so that everyone is on the same page.

FileZilla is easy to use, and you can get to an FTP target quickly by just filling in the web host, username, password, and port number. I have it going to my web server’s public_html directory, where I then have access to twenty-some websites.

Lately, I have found out that I can now access my Google Drive files via FileZilla!

To top it all off, I am reviewing the FREE version of FileZilla. There has always been a free version of FileZilla, but now there are also several Pro versions available.

FileZilla performs excellently as an open-source FTP client.

FileZilla is so easy to use that I have had no need to use their support other than their Wiki, which gives you all the information you might be seeking.

**What do you dislike about FileZilla?**

I am a longtime Mac user, so I could say that the UI, the user interface, is maybe just a little clunky, but it certainly is not a hindrance.

**What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned, I am an avid Mac user, Apple’s Preview lacks as a well-functioning FTP client, though it is free. As a Mac user, I could use Transmit or Fetch, which are great FTP apps with nice UIs. Transmit is $45, and Fetch is $29. FileZilla is free and therefore saves me from spending any money!

I build websites, and I have more than 20 on my web host’s server. Having a good FTP client/app is a must, and why not use one that is an industry standard, one that is cross-platform, and free?

Now, as a web builder, I could use the web hosting service’s available cPanel and upload to the website that way, but that is slow and limited to file sizes. Some web editors’ built-in FTP clients can be clunky and funky, so FileZilla saves me from having to use a web editor. Therefore, using FileZilla can be a time saver for me.

  ### 2. Easy, Reliable File Transfers with Fast, Secure SFTP in FileZilla

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luca B. | Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about FileZilla?**

FileZilla is very easy to use and reliable for transferring files between my computer and a server. The interface is simple and clear, which makes it easy to manage files, upload or download content, and organize folders. I also like that it supports secure protocols like SFTP and that connections are fast and stable even when transferring large files.

**What do you dislike about FileZilla?**

One downside is that the interface looks a bit outdated compared to more modern tools. Sometimes it can also feel slightly overwhelming for new users because there are many panels and configuration options. Additionally, the free version occasionally shows prompts that can be distracting.

**What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileZilla helps me easily upload, download, and manage files on remote servers without needing complex command-line tools. It saves time when updating website files, backing up data, or transferring large folders. Because the connection is stable and the transfers are reliable, it improves my workflow and reduces the risk of failed uploads.

  ### 3. Simple and Reliable Tool for File Transfers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhushan A. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about FileZilla?**

I like how easy FileZilla is to use. The interface is straightforward, and connecting to an FTP server is quick. I mainly use it to upload and download files from my server, and the drag-and-drop feature makes the whole process very convenient. It’s also fast and runs smoothly, even when I’m transferring multiple files at once.

**What do you dislike about FileZilla?**

One minor drawback is that the interface feels a bit outdated compared with more modern software. At first, beginners may need a little time to understand the different options, but after using it once or twice, it becomes very easy to navigate and use.

**What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileZilla helps me transfer files between my computer and my server quickly and with minimal hassle. It saves me time when I’m managing website files or handling backups, and the connection is usually stable and reliable. Overall, it makes file management much easier and more efficient for me.

  ### 4. Reliable and Easy File Transfers Without the Extra Noise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about FileZilla?**

What I like best about FileZilla is how simple and dependable it is. It’s not trying to be anything fancy; it just works, which is exactly what you want when you’re moving files around.

The layout makes everything easy to follow. I like being able to see my local files and the server side by side and just drag and drop without overthinking it. It’s quick to spot what was uploaded and what wasn’t, and fix it right away, which saves time when you’re making updates.

It’s also really solid when it comes to connections. Once you’ve got your sites set up, you don’t have to mess with it again; it just connects and does its job. The site manager is especially helpful if you’re bouncing between different servers or staging sites.

Overall, it’s just a reliable, no-nonsense tool that gets the job done without slowing you down.

**What do you dislike about FileZilla?**

For what I use it for, FileZilla honestly works just fine. It’s reliable, it’s quick, and it handles basic file transfers without any drama. The interface feels a little outdated, but it doesn’t interfere with how well it works.

**What problems is FileZilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileZilla solves the need to quickly and reliably move files between my computer and a live or staging server.

It makes it easy to upload site updates, edit files, and manage folders without relying on a hosting dashboard or anything more complex. That alone saves time, especially when I need to make quick changes or push updates live.

I use the free version, and it works just fine for what I need. It covers all the basics without any limitations that affect my work.

The benefit for me is just efficiency and control. I can see exactly what’s on the server, move things around fast, and fix issues right away if something doesn’t upload correctly. It keeps my workflow simple and lets me get in and out without slowing down.
