What do you like best about Filestack?

Honestly the File Picker is what I like most. It’s clean and just works. People can upload from their computer or straight from Google Drive, Dropbox, Instagram, Facebook and a bunch of other places without us having to set up all those extra logins ourselves. Feels almost plug and play.

The on-the-fly image stuff is also really useful. We can resize, crop or optimise pictures just by changing a few things in the URL. Our backend guys don’t have to build custom processing jobs anymore, which saves a lot of time and hassle.

Integration was pretty straightforward too. The docs and SDKs are clear, so connecting it to our app (we use Froala) went smoothly. Uploads feel faster and more reliable now, even when someone is on slow mobile data. We’ve had fewer “upload failed” complaints since we started using it. The automatic virus scanning and signed URLs also give us some peace of mind without extra work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filestack?

The pricing can get a bit painful once you start growing. The jump from the basic plan to the next one feels pretty steep when you hit the limits on transformations or bandwidth, especially if you’re a smaller team still watching costs. Overages add up faster than you’d expect if you’re not careful.

The docs are fine for the everyday stuff, but when you run into more specific or tricky situations, there aren’t always enough clear examples. A few times I had to dig around online or just try things myself more than I wanted to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Filestack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before we started using Filestack we spent a lot of time building our own upload system and trying to connect things like Google Drive and Dropbox ourselves. It was messy and took longer than it should have. Now users can just pick files from almost anywhere without us having to handle all that extra work.

Image processing was another problem. We used to run our own tools to resize and optimise pictures, which meant more server load and more things for the backend team to maintain. With Filestack we can do most of that just by changing a few settings in the URL, so that whole job is pretty much gone.

Uploads used to fail quite often, especially for people on slower mobile connections. Since switching, things feel more stable and we get fewer complaints about files not going through. The built-in virus scanning and signed links also make us feel a bit safer with user uploads without adding extra steps on our side.

Overall it has saved us time, reduced some of the technical headaches, and made the experience smoother for the people using our product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
