## Factorial Reviews
  ### 1. A very comprehensive platform for centralizing HR, although designed for larger companies.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristina J. | Principal CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

What Factorial has contributed the most to us is centralizing in a single platform things that we previously had spread across spreadsheets, emails, and the management office.

The interface is clean and very clear, especially the employee dashboard. Requesting vacations, downloading payslips, or clocking in is done in a few clicks, without a learning curve. Employees (even the less tech-savvy ones) use it without having to ask us for help, which was already a problem with the previous tool. The mobile app for clocking in works well and allows location control, which in our case we use to differentiate between office and remote days.

The integration with Google Workspace is very convenient for onboarding and offboarding employees (calendar, email). We also use the connection with the management office for payroll, which has eliminated many back-and-forth emails each month with attached documents. The API is accessible if you need custom integrations, although we haven't reached that point yet.

The platform responds well even during times of heavy use, such as month-end or year-end when everyone requests vacations. We haven't had significant downtimes in the months we've been using it.

The modular model allows us to pay only for what we use (in our case, personnel management, absences, and electronic signature). Compared to having a traditional management office, Excel, and DocuSign separately, it is cost-effective. For small companies, the cost per employee is reasonable.

The onboarding was faster than expected. We imported employee data with a CSV template and it was operational in a couple of days. The chat support responds in reasonable times and resolves configuration doubts without needing to escalate.

The AI assistant for creating job descriptions and contracts has been a useful discovery that we didn't expect. It generates reasonable drafts that we then adjust manually, saving us time on tasks we used to do from scratch or by copying from old templates.

Overall, Factorial has allowed us to professionalize HR management without needing to have a dedicated department, which is exactly what a small company needs.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

What I like least about Factorial is the price and that sometimes it can be a bit slow to load certain pages or process data during periods of high demand, which can delay administrative tasks.

Another point that has surprised us quite a bit is that the platform is clearly designed and structured for large companies. Many features, modules, and workflows assume that you will have an HR team, several departments, hierarchies, evaluation processes, etc. For small companies like ours, much of that goes unused, but the cost per employee remains just as high, which makes the value for money considerably worse than for a company with 50 or 100 employees.

We miss a lighter plan, truly oriented towards micro-enterprises and freelancers, where you only pay for the basic functions (personnel management, absences, time tracking, and payroll) without having to assume the full cost of a platform designed to scale to much larger organizations. As it stands today, for companies of 2-5 people, the monthly cost is hard to justify compared to simpler alternatives or even continuing with traditional management services.

We also notice that some advanced functions (reports, automations, certain premium modules) are locked behind higher plans that make sense for a medium-sized company, but for a small one, they mean paying much more for features that would be used very occasionally.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Factorial solves for us mainly two problems that used to take us more time than it seemed:

The first is tracking vacations and absences. We used to manage it on a shared spreadsheet, and there were always doubts: how many days each person had left, if two people overlapped on the same dates, if a leave was correctly accounted for, etc. With Factorial, each employee requests their vacations from their own panel, sees in real-time how many days they have available, and the approval flow is recorded. For us as administrators, the unified calendar allows us to see at a glance who will be out each week, which avoids conflicts when planning deliveries and meetings with clients. This has eliminated many errors and emails like "so, which days are you going in the end?"

The second is performance management. Previously, evaluations were something done at the end of the year, in a disorganized manner, and often went undone due to lack of time. With Factorial, we can define evaluation cycles, feedback templates, and objectives per person, and everything is documented in one place. This has allowed us to make performance more continuous instead of an annual formality, and to have a real history to make decisions about salary increases, promotions, or areas for improvement with data instead of feelings.

In addition, there are secondary benefits that we also notice: fewer administrative emails each month, employees access their payslips and documents without having to request them, and HR information is no longer scattered between Excel, Drive, and the inbox but is centralized in a single platform. For a company that does not have a dedicated HR department, this translates into time saved each week and, above all, fewer errors and oversights in critical tasks (paying on time, correctly recording absences, complying with clock-in regulations).

  ### 2. Streamlines HR Processes with Compliance Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin M. | Senior HR Compliance Manager, Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

Its pre-built German compliance templates are the biggest advantage. It comes ready with GDPR consent logs, ArbG hour rules and works council report formats, cutting manual setup work. All personnel, time and payroll data sit in one encrypted space with full audit trails, making DSB audits far easier. The employee self-service portal reduces admin work: staff handle leave and personal info updates themselves, with every change logged. The built-in time tracker auto-calculates overtime, breaks and vacation per German labor rules, replacing error-prone Excel sheets. GDPR retention reminders help us avoid fines, and custom exports quickly generate reports for works council meetings.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

There is no native integration with mainstream German payroll tax software. Our HR coordinator spends 2–3 hours monthly moving CSV data manually, which risks typos and delayed tax filings. The admin panel has patchy German translations; junior HR staff often mess up works council settings, and I spend extra time correcting reports. Bulk archive exports run very slowly, forcing us to start DSB audit prep days early. Initial account setup is fast, but configuring full ArbG and DSB compliance requires fully manual tweaks with no pre-made German regulatory presets. Migrating hundreds of old staff records was slow without system syncs, and inconsistent German UI meant extra training for new HR hires to avoid compliance errors.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Factorial, employee data was split across spreadsheets and local storage, creating GDPR and labor law risks with incomplete audit trails. Manual payroll and paper onboarding also caused frequent errors. This platform unifies all HR workflows in one compliant system. It automates time tracking, payroll and digital onboarding, logs all data access and standardizes documents to meet ArbG and DSB rules, cutting admin work and closing compliance loopholes.

  ### 3. Great Compliance and Integration, But Payroll Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alvaro H. | CTO CISO CDO, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

What I appreciate most about Factorial is its strong alignment with Spanish labor regulations, particularly in terms of time tracking and compliance with local laws. This feature significantly streamlines daily HR management and ensures that all legal obligations are reliably fulfilled. Another notable advantage is Factorial's integration capabilities with other business systems. The platform connects seamlessly with Microsoft Business Central, and the presence of an API makes it much easier to automate processes and synchronize data between different tools. In general, Factorial provides a modern, user-friendly interface that both employees and administrators find straightforward to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

The payroll module is the part of the platform that requires the most attention. Although the system performs well for attendance tracking, documentation, and general HR tasks, its payroll capabilities do not offer the depth or reliability necessary for handling more complex situations. As a result, I sometimes have to rely on external tools or perform manual checks to ensure everything is accurate. While the platform continues to add new features, some advanced HR processes still seem limited when compared to dedicated payroll solutions. Enhancing this area would help make Factorial a truly comprehensive all-in-one HR platform.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Factorial has been instrumental in centralizing our HR processes and ensuring compliance with Spanish labor regulations, particularly in areas like time tracking and employee records. The platform streamlines our daily administrative tasks by consolidating attendance, documentation, contracts, and PTO management into one unified system. Its integration features address a significant operational challenge for us: synchronizing HR data with our ERP. With the API and compatibility with Microsoft Business Central, we are able to automate information flows, which reduces manual data entry, increases accuracy, and saves valuable time. In summary, Factorial enables us to maintain stronger control over HR operations, improves visibility throughout the company, and lightens the administrative burden on our HR team.

  ### 4. Intuitive and User-Friendly: Factorial Simplifies HR Processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** A guy named Gui P. | Co-Founder and Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

What I like best about Factorial is how intuitive and user-friendly it is from an employee’s/ team leader perspective.
It centralizes everything in one place, from checking vacation balances to managing documents or viewing payslips, which really simplifies requesting time off and tracking approvals without having to send multiple emails or messages. Overall, it makes internal processes much smoother and more transparent.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

Since I was a user, and a team leader, not an admin, I don't have anything negative to say about it.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Factorial helps solve several recurring administrative issues that used to take unnecessary time and back-and-forth communication.
As both a user and a team leader, I really value how it centralizes everything, from viewing payslips and checking vacation balances to managing and approving requests from my team. Before, these tasks often required multiple emails or manual tracking, but with Factorial everything is clearly organized and accessible in one place.

It saves time, reduces errors, and improves transparency for both employees and managers, making HR processes much smoother and more efficient.

  ### 5. Simplifying HR management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

What I value most about Factorial is how it centralizes and simplifies human resources management. From a single platform, it is possible to manage payroll, vacations, absences, documents, and approval workflows, which streamlines administrative tasks and reduces the possibility of errors. Additionally, its intuitive and accessible interface allows both the HR team and employees to use it without difficulties.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

Limitations in advanced functionalities: There are certain complex human resources functions that require external integrations or are not sufficiently developed within the platform.

Dependence on the internet: Being an online platform, it is not possible to access the information without a connection.

Limited customization: Some reports and approval workflows cannot be fully adapted to very specific needs.

Initial learning curve: Although the platform is intuitive, some of its functions require time to adapt and become familiar with them.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows saving time by automating repetitive tasks, which contributes to greater efficiency. Additionally, it helps reduce errors in calculations and records, improving data accuracy. The organization of information and internal workflows also benefit, as everything is managed in a more orderly manner. Finally, it facilitates communication between HR and employees by centralizing everything on an accessible platform.

  ### 6. A simple and easy-to-use platform

How intuitive the platform is and its easy operation.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

Sometimes it doesn't correctly record the clock-ins.

Access it from your mobile device with a single click.

  ### 7. Easy tool for attendance and absence tracking

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

It makes tracking absences and working hours simple, centralized, and easy to manage in one place.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

I occasionally run into limitations with the reports and the available customization options, which can make it harder to tailor things to my needs.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It cuts down on manual tracking and gives me clearer visibility into employee attendance and leave.

  ### 8. An efficient and user-friendly HR management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier R. | Cloud Sales Specialist☁️, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

Factorial stands out for its intuitive interface and ease of use, making it accessible even for non-technical users. Features like employee time tracking, document management, and payroll integration save significant time and streamline HR processes. The centralized dashboard provides clear visibility into employee data, ensuring compliance and effective workforce management. Additionally, their customer support is responsive and helpful, addressing queries promptly.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

While Factorial offers excellent features, some advanced functionalities, such as more detailed reporting or customization options, are limited and could be expanded further. Additionally, the initial setup can be slightly overwhelming due to the range of tools available, and integration with third-party applications could be smoother. For smaller businesses, the pricing might be a consideration when compared to alternatives.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Factorial has streamlined our HR processes by centralizing key functions like time tracking, document management, and payroll processing. Previously, these tasks were scattered across multiple tools, leading to inefficiencies and errors. With Factorial, we've reduced administrative time, improved data accuracy, and ensured compliance with labor regulations. Additionally, the automated notifications and reminders for performance reviews and employee documentation have helped us stay on top of critical tasks without manual intervention, ultimately increasing productivity and employee satisfaction.

  ### 9. Saves Time and Simplifies Accountability, Though Some Features Aren’t Advanced Yet

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

It saves time and gives you everything you need for accountability in one platform.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

So far, I haven’t run into any issues. It’s easy to use, even though some features aren’t very advanced yet.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility and HR management.

  ### 10. Avoid Factorial: Data Mishandling and Poor Customer Support

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcello B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Factorial?**

The software is alright. There are bugs and pain that comes with using Factorial for a mid-size company. In general, it works ok and does the job.

**What do you dislike about Factorial?**

Our experience with Factorial has been extremely disappointing. We gave Factorial five months noticed that we were closing down the account and needed to retrieve our data. Seven. months later and we still don't have the sensitive data despite asking for urgent support multiple times. Account Manager, Customer Support, Legal, and the CEO himself have been contacted, but no one seems to care about us as a customer.

If you value your time, your data, and your peace of mind, DO NOT USE FACTORIAL. We hope this review serves as a cautionary tale. Proceed with extreme caution if you’re considering Factorial as your HR platform.

**What problems is Factorial solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It attempts to solve core HR management, including time, contracts, PTO etc. It had served our company ok besides bugs here and there, but when we needed ownership of our data, the company was extremely unhelpful.
