Since 2022, Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) District Police Communications has developed a strong partnership with Everbridge while implementing its Mass Communication Notification platform as an integration with our police CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system.

Scott Nethero went above and beyond to help us develop a customized solution that met the unique needs of our district. This involved many hours of collaboration through emails and Microsoft Teams meetings, as well as coordination with our CentralSquare CAD vendor and the OCPS Information Technology Services (ITS) department.

Through extensive uploading, testing, re-testing, reconfiguring, and fine-tuning, we successfully developed a streamlined four-step notification process. What previously required multiple time-consuming steps can now be accomplished much more efficiently, allowing critical information to be distributed quickly when every minute matters.

The Everbridge integration has also helped bridge communication gaps by improving information sharing among our schools, surrounding law enforcement agencies, district leadership, operational departments, and the learning division. Members of the Everbridge portal can also opt in to receive additional notifications through personal phone calls or text messages, helping ensure critical information reaches the appropriate people quickly.

For a large school district, timely and accurate communication is essential. This solution has been a game changer for our team by improving efficiency, strengthening situational awareness, and supporting faster, more informed decision-making across the organization.

Most importantly, Scott’s commitment to understanding our operational needs and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders was instrumental in making the integration successful.
