It is a good system for retrospective review

  ### 4. Amazing EHR system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love how easy it is to use and find everything. I love how thorough you can be with patient documentation. I like how all providers' notes are in the same section and they're easy to search. It is honestly the most user friendly EHR I have use and I have used 2 other big companies before

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't like how some of the flowsheets tabs for documentation are organized. There are certain subcategories that do not make sense in those sections

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It is the best EHR system out of the 3 I have used- Cerner and Meditech

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily and quickly documenting patient care so we can spend more time with the patients and taking care of them and not be as stressed

  ### 5. The best electronic medical record software for productivity out there

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmad A. | Physician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

User friendly interface. The functionality is customizable. You can create and use templates that save time and effort. Order sets can be easily created and modified and save time when ordering a group of lab tests.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The inter-connectibility between hospitals is poor. You can use "care everywhere" tab to obtain notes and labs. However, viewing images is not possible.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unncessary window prompts can lead to delays in workflow. We have worked with local IT department and this has been corrected successfully. The availability of upgrades bring along a good number of exciting new features.

  ### 6. Very easy charting!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lidia M. | Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The new Patient Care CNA tab is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There is nothing I dislike about EPIC at the moment.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use EPIC all the time! It is very easy to sign in and do real-time charting due to the easily accessible tabs.

  ### 7. Overall excellent system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rose B. | Family Physician, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Love having access easily to patient info in a timely fashion and also all meds patients. Narcotic refills are needed to know dates and info about the patient and we also have a link to the pharmacy records in the state database which had been great!

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There's a lot of duplication on many orders and history/ problem list. Feel like I enter same info too many times. I feel like the lab ordering could be easier and be able to be organized and just click a button. We have ability to set it up like we want but it's very time consuming. There have been many improvements since I've been using the platform so some things are improving. Staff also available to help sometimes over the phone but would appreciate more hands on help.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It is the most widely used EHR so often available to connect to other systems using it for records. Customizable and very good.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to have electronic medical records system which is required. Allows us to have more widely available shared records and offer better care as a result. Easier to do chart audits as well and have medical home. Patients are able to access their records and make sure are accurate.

  ### 8. Healthcare charting system user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The format is specific to your personal system. You can change or emphasize tabs that you consistently use and minimize those you don’t. This makes it easier and quicker to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Epic system is constantly changing and updating their system. It is hard to access at times and once a week will shut down and restart.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Compare with prior software to fully understand pros and cons

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic is user-friendly. With a job that is fast-paced and requires quick and efficient charting, epic allows you to quickly document data. Also gives you options to copy and paste data.

  ### 9. Epic for Healthcare

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily F. | Postpartum RN, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

As a nurse who spends a lot of time charting, Epic makes it easier by having all the required documentation all in one page.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes finding information can be a bit complicated, and the order of the flowsheets isn't always helpful for my locations policies.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a postpartum and NICU nurse, so I'm charting physical assessments and vital signs on my patients to maintain a frequent, rational picture of their status.

  ### 10. Great software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas R. | Research Fellow, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Health records are getting more and more complex, and the software does a good job considering the amount of data it deals with. Even when it crashes (and it understandably does from time to time),it gets back to normal fairly quick.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It's a lot to deal with, so there could be better tutorials and tips available. A more comprehensive search tool would be ideal.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Good enough for what it proposes. Having a specialized team to periodically train employees on its use would be ideal.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Verifying health records for research purposes only.

  ### 11. EPIC for health care

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Access to patient charts electronically

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Cannot see charts from other hospitals that may have worked with the patient

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to know why the patient is in the hospital, how they are doing, demographic info and able to set up outpatient appointments

  ### 12. I had a great experience using epic.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

What is most helpful about epic is that once a patient goes to a montefiore facility their information is store. You do not have to add. new patient the information is in their. Also you can access hospital view and see information about the patients hospital.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Some of the things I dislikes about epic were the sudden crashes and inconsistencies with the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I would suggest epic because it has all the tools needed to operate a system efficiently.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved a lot of problems with epic. Finding documents that patients forget to bring from other facilities.

  ### 13. Health care software of the future

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zakiah M. | Research Lab Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I primarily use EPIC in the operating room, the software is easy to use and very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes it can be hard to find certain information-- ie, the information is hidden somewhere you wouldn't think (as a healthcare professional) to look.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n/a

  ### 14. Accessible Information Entering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

What I like the best about EPIC is how easy everything is laid out and once you become accustomed to the software, it becomes so simple to chart.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

What I dislike about EPIC is the font and it could be more concise at times so it is easier to read.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EPIC has helped me to look the patients condition more holistically and with the new Brain feature, has helped immensely with time management.

  ### 15. Redundant At Times

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like flowsheets that are streamlined to focused/pertinent information only—E.G. “Cath Lab Assessment”

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

So many of the functions are redundant, yet there are some things with no preselectable options which leave us needing to find workarounds to adequately note some information.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate EPIC's ability to streamline information I need to quickly gather on my patient when I do not get a report.

  ### 16. Epic for Hospital computers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is very convenient when working at the hospital because it helps locate and track patients information. I like that Epic is the same with all Sentara hospitals.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't like when they are having down times. The hospital is always needing a computer system and when the system goes down for a scheduled amount of time is never what they say that it will be.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are that it is widely used throughout the hospital so all different departments can have access to the records.

  ### 17. Successful and quick charting for nurses.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

My favorite aspect of Epic is the ability to creat your own smart phrases for any given situation. They save me so much time with charting, and ensure that I put all important and necessary aspects of patient care in my notes.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

When doing telephone encounters, you may have a conversation with multiple replies. The replies don’t always show up in the patients chart, which can make it confusing to figure out what conversation was had about the patients labs or questions, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Prioritize what you will be using the computer program for, and make sure it has all of the functions necessary to do your job correctly.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic has great reminders for parts that you haven’t charged; there are numerous icons to show you what you have completed, what needs to be completed, or what has been started and not finished. This is really helpful for a busy nurse who is constantly being called away for the computer.

  ### 18. Electronic Health Record Program Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

So many smart features that allow easy access to various resources, team members, patient data.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Information can be cluttered and navigating throughout Epic can be challenging at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It takes time and practice navigating throughout the system, but soon you'll realize its a great system to work with!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love working with Epic because the system is so fast and it allows you to customize your page the way you'd like to view it. I've worked with multiple EHR systems before and Epic is by far one of the best ones to use because of auto-save feature and all of the links available for easy access.

  ### 19. Not as user friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I went through extensive training before the company I worked for went live with EPIC. I like the mouse guided interface. Making it really user friendly and easy of access EMR.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Least helpful? Actually epic is very easy to conduct search and query data.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

N/a

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits I found is looking for visits by time, and querying that way.

  ### 20. Utilize Epic daily for EMR.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The brain is my favorite part of the new Epic. It clearly shows all your tasks and helps your organize your day.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It is not always user friendly. The search functions are basically unusable as they don’t show the actual information that you are searching for.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have talked with our clindoc people about ways to improve Epic such as matching the rounding in the MAR to our pumps, allowing nurses to change the time for medications, etc.
The work list is helpful but could be better.

  ### 21. Patient Access Specialist

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It’s very comprehensive and a lot of info is displayed. A LOT.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It’s pretty difficult to navigate; even after careful training, I found it hard to remember where certain features were and what specific actions were required to just enact a simple control.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s made it easier to connect to the different persons involved in a patient’s healthcare.

  ### 22. Epic change

**Reviewed by:** Kassy P. | Patient Service Representative, Medical Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I enjoy being able to check insurances in seconds. I enjoy the scheduling they use. I enjoy having access to more records right away.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike the staff messages that appear right away even if there for future dates. I dislike that not every office uses it so I don't have access everywhere.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Medical records,

  ### 23. Epic Review for ER

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morgan S. | Registered Nurse, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It is user friendly and pretty much universal. We can see what care patient's received at other facilities. It has different narrators that are applicable to the Emergency Department, which makes it very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I can't think of any downsides. Epic is honestly a great charting system.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see results from other facilities

  ### 24. Overall easy to navigate and work through.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Everything is easy to find with all the labeled tabs and search bar. You can pretty much find whatever you’re looking for in less than 30 seconds.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The only downside of epic I can think of is slow load up time. It may a moment for the program to auto fill with info and log on

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven’t had to solve any problems with epic. I have realized the convenience of electronic health records.

  ### 25. Very easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It is easy to use and is similar format as microsoft word so it looks familar and easy to navigate

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Im not sure whereto fine some things on there.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It is a very good company with good technical support and a easy to use system

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for patient care at the hospital. It helps me keep track of lab work and my patient list.

  ### 26. Epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

My favorite feature is care everywhere which allows you to view records from multiple organizations who also use epic

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Multiple ways to perform same action makes it confusing sometimes. Also van take lots of “clicks” to perform certain actions.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining the electronic medical record system. Able to use across numerous organization and access other organizations records. Staying up to date with technology. Making communication easier and care faster and safer

  ### 27. Clinical Coordinator

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Fairly simple to navigate. Seemed to make more sense than Cerner.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

SO many windows to open just to document simple tasks!

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Listen to the Epic consultants and take the needed time for roll out, training and implementation. Our organization was ridiculous and thought they could successfully do this in three months during the summer by not allowing any staff to take PTO (and again, this was in Michigan where we only get three months os summer). No complaints about EPIC, just the way in which our leadership went against recommendations and rushed through the process.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation is more consistent.

  ### 28. Almost perfect EMR software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Freelance Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I have been using Epic for over 5 years now. Epic is as well organized medical records software. Very user friendly. You can find everything are looking for very quickly. I highly reccomend this software. I like how easy to use it is to deliver medical records. Also it has many different features for all parties in the patient chart to work coherently.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dont like that you have to use another software to view images. Some functions can be difficult to find and training on this system can be a bit tedious but we'll worth it, once you learn it.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

This is a very good software that keeps patients information well organized.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing time in finding and documenting patient's information. This software also reduces medical errors because it helps the doctor and technicians to verify the patient, they are looking at.

  ### 29. Epic makes documentation easier!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia B. | SPT, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The best characteristic of Epic is the ability to access records, data, and exam information from other healthcare providers. It also allows for the connection between different speciality areas by including their contact info, their name, and what their plan is. As a physical therapy student doing my clinical at Barnes Jewish, it's amazing to be able to look at notes from a rehab, other hospital, PCP, LTAC, or nursing home to learn more about the patient

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The worst thing about Epic is the amount of time it takes to learn the system. It can also take some time to determine where exactly you can find certain information based on how long you have been using the software.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to communicate and learn from other health care providers. The ability to look back at prior hospitalizations/ encounters to determine history, prior level of function, and course of care. Another benefit is the fact that you can look at vitals or neuro checks taken by the nurse overnight in case the nursing shifts have changed and you would like to see what the other nurse saw.

  ### 30. User friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse A. | Physical Therapisf, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Very user friendly and helpful to be able to customize

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Wish it was easier to “hide” certain features to further simplify the documentation options

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for all my documentation

  ### 31. Love epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love how every visit encounter is viewable from the main platform

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Although there are a lot of tools to customize, I still sometimes struggle finding certain info from the patient chart

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use epic for our EMR at work and it is so nice. Being able to have the entire medical record helps with continuous care

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

User-friendly for the most part. It has made communication between hospitals and electronically pushing material fairly simple with the exception of institutions not within our system

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Some of it’s a little wordy. Physicians sometimes have trouble with viewing the uploaded documents to medía.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Take the prep course and get certified. Epic help line is helpful as well

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speed of information transfer, patient and clinician satisfaction. Love mychart, which is associated.

  ### 34. Epic is excellent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like that they have now made the program easier to navigate. There are more options in how to get to something and you can customize the appearance as well now which is nice.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There is not much to dislike about the program besides when it crashes and the program does not fully close down so it freezes and IT has to go in and close it.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It isn't too hard it just takes a little bit to learn the program.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving medical patient issues with Epic. I have found it to be very useful in connecting to other hospitals medical records.

Epic allows healthcare professionals to access and record patient health information in a safe database and in an organized manner that helps us to provide better care.

  ### 36. Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen L. | Resource Clerk, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I use epic everyday in my line of work. I am able to see how many patients are in the hospital, how many open beds we have, how many discharges etc. It's very simple to navigate when you're looking for something. Also, when having to find someones chart after they are deceased to do paperwork it easy to find and read. I definitely like everything about this program as it is very user friendly.
