What do you like best about Egencia by Amex GBT?

What stands out most about Egencia is that it delivers a consumer-grade booking experience without compromising on strict corporate governance and policy compliance.

Here are the key areas where it excels:

UI / UX & Mobile Parity: The platform is clean, intuitive, and requires virtually zero training for new employees. Booking a flight, hotel, or train feels as straightforward as using top consumer booking sites, which drives near-100% platform adoption and virtually eliminates off-channel booking leakage. The mobile app has full feature parity with desktop, allowing travelers to modify itineraries on the go effortlessly.

Ecosystem Integrations & Data Fidelity: The automated sync with expense management systems (such as Concur) and corporate card feeds works reliably. Itineraries, hotel folios, and e-receipts flow cleanly into expense reports, which drastically cuts down on missing receipt follow-ups and simplifies reconciliation for the finance and accounting teams. Duty of care and HRIS feeds are equally robust for tracking traveler safety in real time.

System Performance & Speed: Search queries—even for complex multi-city or international itineraries—return quickly with up-to-date inventory and pricing. There is minimal lag or checkout error, and itinerary changes or cancellations sync immediately across mobile, web, and calendar.

Pricing, ROI & Unused Ticket Management: Access to Amex GBT’s negotiated corporate rates and preferred hotel programs delivers immediate savings. In addition, Egencia’s automated unused ticket tracking ensures that airline credits are automatically applied to subsequent bookings, capturing significant value that would otherwise expire.

Support & Onboarding Experience: Onboarding and implementation are well-structured, with helpful guidance on setting up complex travel policies, approval hierarchies, and custom user fields. When flight disruptions or weather delays occur, the 24/7 in-app chat and phone assistance provide quick, dependable rebooking support.

AI & Intelligent Recommendations: The recommendation engine effectively learns traveler patterns (frequent routes, preferred times, seat preferences) and surfaces personalized, in-policy options at the top of search results. Visual in-policy/out-of-policy indicators guide employees to preferred vendors naturally without frustrating them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Egencia by Amex GBT?

While the day-to-day booking experience is very smooth, there are a couple of areas that could be enhanced. Self-service modifications work great for straightforward trips, but complex multi-leg international changes often still require contacting an agent. Additionally, while inventory is extensive in major markets, regional coverage for low-cost carriers and boutique hotels in certain international regions can occasionally be a bit sparse compared to local consumer sites. Finally, while standard dashboards are solid, more advanced custom reporting typically requires exporting raw data into external tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
