I'm old school, former Novell, post NDS & NLM days... eDir is what made Novell relevant again in the market place. One essential, centralized directory to manage and orchastrate everything. The first cross platform directory sevice was easy to use, configure, deploy and maintaine. This helped with managing missional critical business imparatives such as zero day start and stop ensure every employee or partner had access to the right tools, apps and services by automating provisioning and deprovisioning. There were non. The biggest 'downside' was a lack of market awareness. As a seller I was often told NO -- NO to Novell. I asked for them to know Novell before they said No to Novell.

The was overwhelming, tell me more but we are a x,y,z shop and we aren't buying Netware... so I made a promise. We'd have a conversation and I wouldn't mention Netware unless they brought it up first.
