I'm also recording my screen and narrating "How To" videos that are specific to their websites. The "wow" factor makes a huge impact, all while saving me a TON of time. Anyone who has written an instruction email for a client knows that it can be a painful process. A quick video is MUCH easier to customize. ### 2. It also saves time when we have to pass along files to our project managers to send out. We give them a simple link as opposed to having to upload them, then the project manager has to download them to send them to clients. ### 3. The animated gif options I use less often, but are really awesome and handy when I do use them. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** The image editor still needs a lot of work. As someone who does a lot of QA feedback in Droplr, it would be nice to be able to copy and paste things and move more quickly. I also find the online interface to be rather useless. I would much prefer more effort put into developing the desktop app and experience, specifically image history and management. I would like to be able to quickly purge my history, as most of my screenshots I take I do not need for more than a few days. Perhaps setting an expiration period? **Recommendations to others considering Droplr:** While there are certainly free alternatives and options for screenshot sharing, Droplr is ideal for someone in a small or large company looking to quickly onboard users with a QA tool. The learning curve is minimum and their client is supported on both Windows and Mac. Being able to annotate your screenshots is a little clumsy at first, but you'll find yourself highlighting things and drawing arrows like crazy. You won't need to configure any key shortcuts or FTP servers, you just start up the app and you're ready to go. **What problems is Droplr solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've used Droplr to solve quickly giving feedback on website designs and bugs. We're able to quickly screenshot a particular issue, annotate it, and immediately paste the link in Slack or Basecamp with an image preview automatically generated. ### 4. I often use arrows in the screen shots so the user can easily look at the area of issue I'm describing. I occasionally do short videos of web flow experience so that I can show the navigation I took and what was happening during that navigation. Overall it is very intuitive and easy to learn/use. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** There isn't much that I dislike about Droplr. Occasionally a Droplr link produces a 404 error, but that is likely due to a server outage on their side; usually that link is back up and working in a short amount of time. Other than that, I haven't experienced any pain points using the tool. **What problems is Droplr solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's often best to describe a software bug in writing, but it helps to have a screenshot or short video which depicts the video - of which Droplr provides. This gives the software developer, who reviews the bug, a visual to go along with the written description of the bug/issue. ### 5. This is done through instantly copying the created Droplr link to your clipboard, making it easy to share as well. Among these things, you can easily annotate images and personalize them to fit your business needs. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** One minor gripe that has made it difficult is the current way all of the media is organized on your main page. There are a number of GIFs and larger media files on the account that when the page tries to load all of the assets, this can sometimes take forever and it causes a severe performance issue for me to be able to navigate through all of the media. I think this could be fixed by updating the logic of the tags that we can set to only show media when you click on the tags, or to not have the media file thumbnails play on your account pages. I also think there are some lack of integrations that would be useful. Droplr just announced an integration with Trello, which is a great start in the right direction, though it would also be useful to have integrations with our similar task management tools. **What problems is Droplr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Droplr really helps my team by providing easy to manage GIFs and screenshots to share "How to's" in our support team's emails and help center. It would be nice if it would categorize the images alone even and suggest tags, then allow me to group them based on that information. I have literally tens of thousands of drops, maybe even a hundred thousand who knows, and it's hard/impossible to find things that I haven't just done, or previously saved short code info on somewhere else. **Recommendations to others considering Droplr:** Seriously consider your options. The hassle of uploading and having to go through the trouble of finding the link or the file when it is done created a bit of a time consuming issue. After using Droplr I realized I didn't have to worry about this. I was able to create self destruct links and uploading was as simple as right clicking and hitting a button and what do you know? When it's done it even copied the link! ### 12. So then I have to make the screenshot AGAIN, but most of the time I already continued my work. Part of it is the way the drops are laid out I think. For example, organizations like ours go through ticket tracking systems periodically and it is great to standardize on a file sharing service like Droplr that resides outside of which ticketing system we are using. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** Nothing, really! But droplr has several advantages, even if you upload folders. The "self-destruct" timer is a great way of keeping it clean. The other features such as screenshot, drawing, screencast etc are fantastic for quickly explaining how to do something and you just send a link, no hassle signing up or trying to link accounts etc. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** I did have some problems at one point with droplr clashing with Avast web protection - however this is not just droplr, I had the same problem with other file sharing platforms. This is not just a simple file sharing solution. It allows much more like taking screenshots, or even better screencast, and you can directly enhance them with drawings. But where it is really shining is its very simple, out of the way, but very intuitive UI. Just drag and drop, or copy/share, and your clipboard contains the URL you need to share with anyone you want to share with. Just as easy as a simple copy/paste but allowing to share anything with the world. Other very nice features are the abilities of any shared document to be password protected and to self-destruct after an hour, a day or a week. And best of all, you can customise droplr to your taste with your logo, which make this file sharing solution looks very professional. Finally, you can check statistics on shared documents, so you know if third parties are really using what you share. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** Well, almost nothing... but there is still room for improvement. While already very efficient, the UI could probably be improved even more. I would also like the screencast feature conversion to gif be more tuneable in order to create smaller gifs. What I'd like to do is sharing the file with others, not with me. With droplr, you can put online anything you need without any time loss, neither from you, nor for those accessing the file. It is just fast and simple. Because of all of that, it's pretty rare that I send an email any more that does not have a Droplr screenshot link in it. **What do you dislike about Droplr?** Sometimes it crashes after you record a screencast. I haven't figured out exactly what causes that and it only happens sporadically, but it is definitely frustrating when you get done recording a screencast and it just vanishes entirely. Unfortunately, that isn't unique to just screencasts. We have had that happen during big file uploads and screenshot generation as well. In all cases, the Drop has to be recreated in order to be able to share what we need. **Recommendations to others considering Droplr:** Be careful when uploading extremely large files or doing long screencasts that you want to share as sometimes the app crashes when you do those. Before we started using Droplr, it was often very difficult to communicate what we were referring to or to explain a situation.
