What do you like best about Dropbox Dash?

Stacks are one of Dash’s standout features, especially for power users like myself. I use them to group together links, documents, images, and workflows into organized, shareable stacks, which makes collaborating with my team effortless. When I share a stack, my colleagues instantly have access to everything they need, eliminating the hassle of sending multiple links or attachments. The integration capabilities are also impressive—Dash connects with all my SaaS tools and brings everything together in a single search bar. It feels like having my own personalized "You-gle" that always knows where to find what I need.

The advanced features introduced in this year’s update have taken things even further. Dash’s AI can now search within videos, images, and audio files, not just by filename, but by the actual content inside. This means I can locate information without having to remember exact file names. Additionally, the AI-powered tools for document writing, analysis, and summarization have made my workflow much more efficient, allowing me to focus more on creating rather than searching. The deep integration with work apps like Slack and Teams is also a huge plus, as I can find relevant conversations or people just by searching for a keyword. What do you dislike about Dropbox Dash?

Dash would benefit from additional stack-organizing features, such as the ability to create tabs within stacks, as well as enhanced browser tab management tools. Occasionally, I experience being logged out when working with multiple Chrome profiles, but this is a minor inconvenience compared to the significant productivity boost Dash provides. What problems is Dropbox Dash solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Fragmented Data Across Multiple Apps

The challenge with modern workflows is that they often involve a range of tools—Dropbox, Google Drive, Slack, Gmail, Notion, Teams—which makes locating a specific file, conversation, or link a frustrating process of constant switching.

Dash’s AI-powered universal search addresses this by allowing me to quickly find any document, chat, link, or image from all my connected apps in just seconds. This means I spend less time searching and more time focusing on important work.

2. Information Overload and Missed Insights

With so much content—documents, media, emails, and meeting notes—it’s easy to overlook important knowledge or updates.

Dash’s AI summarization helps by delivering concise answers and generating draft reports, summaries, and plans directly from my data. Instead of sifting through endless files, I receive actionable insights right away.

3. Collaboration Chaos

Coordinating resources for team projects often involves managing countless attachments, links, and permissions, which can quickly become overwhelming.

With Stacks, I can group related links, documents, and workflows for myself and my team, share them instantly, and manage permissions from a single place. This transforms collaboration from disorganized to efficient.

4. Security and Risk Management

Sensitive files and open permissions are difficult to monitor and secure, increasing the risk of data exposure.

Dash helps by highlighting security risks such as overly broad shared links, providing centralized admin controls, making it easy to adjust permissions, and supporting two-factor authentication—all from one dashboard.

5. Searching Rich Media and People

Traditional search tools are limited to filenames and text, making it difficult to find content within images, videos, or audio, or to identify the right colleague.

Dash can search within video, image, and audio files—even those not stored in Dropbox. It also maps coworkers and teams, helping me understand who is responsible for what, which greatly simplifies collaboration.

6. Streamlined Admin and Workflow Controls

Managing multiple accounts, licenses, and billing across various SaaS tools is often complicated and prone to errors.
