I like that there is one place to store our research. In the past we had research documented in random Word docs, notebooks, and PowerPoint decks. Now if I want to see what another researcher has or if a topic/feature has been researched I can search Dovetail and find the person, feature, product, or problem I'm looking for. I also love that I can share the information publicly with my development teams. When I finish a round of research I create and insights page and do a research debrief with the stakeholders. Tagging is difficult in the tool. I end up creating tags when I'm analyzing all my calls to help pull quotes together. If I don't care about having quotes I don't tag at all. It is very time consuming to sift through 6-7 hours of transcripts and fix the words/grammar and then figure out a tagging structure. I would rather do a keyword search if I was trying to find something specific rather than trying to help my future self with tagging. On that note, the transcription of the video is so so. I find that Gong does a much better job of parsing out the words. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
