**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I like how easy Dotdigital is to use. I've never had a CRM manager that can do segmentation that quickly. I appreciate how fast it is to segment for new audiences without hassle. It's convenient to look at who clicked or opened a certain campaign and add a persona or even give them purposes right out of the box. The initial setup was very simple and quick to achieve, with no problems, and I think it was switched over in one afternoon.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I think the key improvement is the testing tool. You just can't miss it in a test send. It's really hard to edit that. That usually looks quite difficult. It'd be great to have a way for users to see emails in Dotdigital.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital simplifies complex segmentation and reporting, making it easy to manage digital sales. It streamlines the process of segmenting new audiences quickly without hassle, allowing me to easily view campaign interactions and assign personas.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Strong reporting and analytics that are auto generated for each campaign send - the real-time analytics make it easy to see which automations are driving revenue and where customers are dropping off.

Instead of building multiple versions of the same email, I can tailor sections of content based on customer behaviour using in-built tools.

Our company has also made great use of the form builder available in DotDigital, whether this is for email sign ups, or even blogger sign ups.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

One limitation I’ve experienced with Dotdigital is around advanced personalisation and segmentation. While the platform offers basic behavioural targeting and dynamic content, creating highly specific audiences often requires a lot of manual work outside the platform.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since using Dotdigital, we have been able to automate large parts of the customer journey through the drag-and-drop builder. We now have workflows set up for welcome emails, and have previously set up for flows for birthday offers, re-engagement campaigns, and post-purchase messaging running in the background.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Dotdigital offers a comprehensive digital marketing solution. We regularly make use of the form/survey function as well as the mailing facility. 

We have an integration with our CMS system which helps use keep our distribution lists up to date and ensure we reach our audience effectively. 

Being able to measure the performance of mailouts helps us to improve our messaging. 

We have only made limited use of the AI functionality, but are keen to explore more, especially around its ability to provide a more consistent tone of voice across our communications. 

We get great support from our account manager and also appreciate the added extras such as the Dotdigital Summit.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

We have been using Dotdigital for 10 years now and are generally very pleased with the service. We are aware that we are probably not making the most of the service, but have spoken to our account manager (Sean) who is keen to help us more aware of what we can do and help us a develop an effective strategy going forward.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital provides a centralised way of communicating, meaning everyone in the team can see what is happening. It allows us to communicate with consistent branding and being able to monitor the success of mailings is very important to us.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

What I like most is how simple it is to create even complex customer journeys and automation workflows using their intuitive drag-and-drop tile system. The visual interface makes it easy to build, edit, and understand sophisticated workflows without needing technical expertise.

Another feature I particularly appreciate is the reporting and workflow visualization. Being able to clearly see how contacts move through each stage of a journey makes performance analysis straightforward and helps identify opportunities for optimisation.

Another aspect I really value is the support and learning resources available. Dotdigital has an extensive library of online guides, tutorials, and videos that make it easy to learn new features and find answers quickly. In most cases, I've been able to find exactly what I need through their documentation.

On the occasions when I couldn't find the answer myself, the live chat support has always been readily available. Every time I've contacted the support team, they've been knowledgeable, responsive, and able to resolve my issue on the first interaction. Having that level of support gives me confidence that help is always there when I need it.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

One area that could be improved is the contact limit structure. Our business generates a high volume of one-time purchasers, which means our contact database grows quickly. We regularly find ourselves reaching the contact limit, leaving us with the choice of either increasing our subscription costs to accommodate more contacts or spending time removing older contacts from the platform.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest benefits we've seen from using Dotdigital is the impact of email automation. By creating automated customer journeys, we're able to ensure that customers receive the right information at exactly the right stage of their journey. Whether it's order updates, product information, installation guidance, or follow-up communications, the automation workflows help deliver relevant content when it's most useful.

What I like most is how intuitive yet powerful the automated programs are. Setting up complex, multi-channel customer journeys is incredibly straightforward. The drag-and-drop builder saves a massive amount of time, and the ability to seamlessly manage marketing preferences in bulk makes maintaining database hygiene effortless.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The two main areas for improvement are background processing speeds. Program segmentation updates can be slow to process, meaning changes don't always reflect in real-time. Additionally, copying existing email campaigns frequently hangs or takes a bit too long to duplicate, which adds minor friction to an otherwise smooth daily workflow.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems Solved: It solves the classic issue of data paralysis—having plenty of customer data but no fast, reliable way to slice it and act on it across campaigns.

How it Benefits Me: The user segmentation tools make it easy to turn raw data into actionable audiences. We can effortlessly target users based on real-time behavior and preferences. Combined with a streamlined email campaign workflow, cloning and tweaking layouts for different regions or audiences is a smooth process. Ultimately, the automated campaigns allow us to maintain a consistent, highly relevant touchpoint with our audience at scale, driving better engagement with less manual overhead.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

The interface is simple and easy to use, without being overly restrictive in what you can do. Integrations run smoothly and are straightforward to set up. All of this comes at a reasonable price, while still maintaining good platform speed. The support team is quick to respond and resolve questions, and the live chat feature means they’re always reachable. Their built-in AI can handle most queries on the first try before you need to speak with an agent, and it’s surprisingly accurate.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Only issue is API debugging, which is currently restricted to a 60 minute window.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us manage customer communications with low-code segment setup and a low-code email builder, making it easier to create and organize our outreach while maintaining brand style.

  ### 7. Brilliant Editor That Speeds Up High-Design, Technical Emails

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I love how easy it is to create highly designed, technical emails without having to mess around with code. From the first time I used it, I found the editor brilliant, and it completely changed how I design and build emails. I can integrate Nifty Images elements easily to add creative, dynamic touches, and using the dynamic blocks within the editor is fantastic too.

It’s also great how straightforward it is to train other team members on the platform thanks to its intuitive UI/UX. The collaboration features for email campaigns, forms, and more are really beneficial for efficiency.

Since using Dotdigital, the speed at which we can turnaround campaigns for clients has improved massively, allowing us to continue improving and building the best campaigns possible.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Sometimes there are glitches that halt my work. For example, a campaign won’t save for an unknown reason, or images won’t upload to the image bank—again, with no explanation for why this happens.

There have also been times when a couple of team members are in the same campaign at the same time, and one person ends up saving over the other’s progress, which causes work to be lost. It would be helpful if the platform could notify us when someone else is in a campaign at the same time.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowed us to produce creative campaigns without that need to code, which has saved us time and money. The flexibility the platform offers has massively changed how we work which has benefitted the business and client offerings hugely. Before we used Dotdigital we would rely on coding each campaign, which always created barriers to our work - but by moving to DotDigital, this removed all barriers, enhancing creativity and changed how we work.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

 Enterprise scalability with built-in integrations as well as API extensibility. The multi-channel capabilities, segmentation, and automation interfaces really make DotDigital a fantastic CRM system. The team is solution-oriented and the platform reflects that.  Plus, the white glove support is unparalleled with BOTH AI and real humans available to jump in and help. 

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Lack of mobile app, or mobile browser capabilities for last-minute fixes, or checking in on analytics. It would also be great if a contact record could have a unique contact ID that has email, phone or other records attached, rather than have the email or phone be a unique identifier for each contact.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital's ability to integrate with any platform--even custom-built "homebrews" makes it the hands-down winner in my world. And speaking of WORLD, they have offices and servers throughout the globe so that we can scale our efforts to different countries through main account ("parent")-to-subaccount (child) relationships, where we can share templates, segmentation strategies, automation flows; all with completely separately managed databases. 

Dotdigital's documentation is clear, their onboarding and expectations management is phenomenal, and frankly their pricing is fair. 

On top of that, their level of support is really the reason I'm writing this review to begin with. I've been so impressed with high-touch level of service and their always-available, all-knowing AI chat named "Winston."  Winston has saved us TONS of time pouring through documentation with quick (and accurate!) answers to our questions.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

All the different options available to you & the ease of use. The drag and drop interface for example has saved me a lot of time each week.

They also add in a lot of integrations consistently, making sure the platform is up to date with new marketing trends.

I particularly like the new Winston AI bot they have added in, which gives useful recommendations.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

One thing I would say I dislike is only having 150 campaigns available in one page n the reports section. When it comes to reporting on overall open rates etc, and there's more than 150 emails sent in a date range, it can be annoying.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'd say it allows my job to be easier. The speed and reliability of the platform allows me to confidently set up and send email campaigns. Not only this, but I trust the platform to send the campaigns to high volumes of people in lists or segments. 

I also like that if there is ever any issues, you can either speak to the chat AI, or even a person at Dotdigital so that they can solve the issue for me.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

What I like best about Dotdigital is how accessible and intuitive the platform is you don't need to be a marketing expert to get up and running quickly. The drag-and-drop email builder and clear navigation make it easy for anyone on the team to jump in without a steep learning curve.

The segmentation is a real standout for me. It's straightforward to slice your audience based on purchase behaviour, engagement levels, demographics, or custom data fields all without needing to write a single line of code. You can build really precise segments in just a few clicks, which means campaigns feel targeted and relevant rather than generic.

The Magento integration is seamless, which makes a huge difference. Customer and order data syncs automatically, so you can trigger automations based on real purchase activity abandoned cart emails, post-purchase flows, win-back campaigns all pulling live data directly from your store. It removes the manual work and keeps everything connected

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The main areas where I think there's room for improvement are the SMS experience and the reporting dashboards. The SMS functionality feels a little underdeveloped compared to the email side of things it could be more intuitive and better integrated into the overall campaign workflow, so it feels like one seamless experience rather than a separate add-on.

The dashboards are useful but can feel a bit clunky at times. I'd love to see more flexibility in how you can view and customise your reporting being able to pull the metrics that matter most to you in a cleaner, more visual way would make a real difference to how quickly you can act on insights.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital has been really valuable in helping us build out automations and proper marketing systems that run in the background without needing constant manual input. Before, a lot of our communication was reactive we'd send things when we remembered or had time. Now we have flows in place that trigger at the right moments in the customer journey automatically.

The biggest benefit is that it's allowed us to be far more proactive. Whether it's welcoming new customers, following up after a purchase, or re-engaging lapsed ones, those touchpoints are just happening consistently. It frees up time and means nothing falls through the cracks.
