  ### 1. A Playground for Lifecycle Marketers

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

 Enterprise scalability with built-in integrations as well as API extensibility. The multi-channel capabilities, segmentation, and automation interfaces really make DotDigital a fantastic CRM system. The team is solution-oriented and the platform reflects that.  Plus, the white glove support is unparalleled with BOTH AI and real humans available to jump in and help. 

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Lack of mobile app, or mobile browser capabilities for last-minute fixes, or checking in on analytics. It would also be great if a contact record could have a unique contact ID that has email, phone or other records attached, rather than have the email or phone be a unique identifier for each contact.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital's ability to integrate with any platform--even custom-built "homebrews" makes it the hands-down winner in my world. And speaking of WORLD, they have offices and servers throughout the globe so that we can scale our efforts to different countries through main account ("parent")-to-subaccount (child) relationships, where we can share templates, segmentation strategies, automation flows; all with completely separately managed databases. 

Dotdigital's documentation is clear, their onboarding and expectations management is phenomenal, and frankly their pricing is fair. 

On top of that, their level of support is really the reason I'm writing this review to begin with. I've been so impressed with high-touch level of service and their always-available, all-knowing AI chat named "Winston."  Winston has saved us TONS of time pouring through documentation with quick (and accurate!) answers to our questions.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

All the different options available to you & the ease of use. The drag and drop interface for example has saved me a lot of time each week.

They also add in a lot of integrations consistently, making sure the platform is up to date with new marketing trends.

I particularly like the new Winston AI bot they have added in, which gives useful recommendations.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

One thing I would say I dislike is only having 150 campaigns available in one page n the reports section. When it comes to reporting on overall open rates etc, and there's more than 150 emails sent in a date range, it can be annoying.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'd say it allows my job to be easier. The speed and reliability of the platform allows me to confidently set up and send email campaigns. Not only this, but I trust the platform to send the campaigns to high volumes of people in lists or segments. 

I also like that if there is ever any issues, you can either speak to the chat AI, or even a person at Dotdigital so that they can solve the issue for me.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

What I like best about Dotdigital is how accessible and intuitive the platform is you don't need to be a marketing expert to get up and running quickly. The drag-and-drop email builder and clear navigation make it easy for anyone on the team to jump in without a steep learning curve.

The segmentation is a real standout for me. It's straightforward to slice your audience based on purchase behaviour, engagement levels, demographics, or custom data fields all without needing to write a single line of code. You can build really precise segments in just a few clicks, which means campaigns feel targeted and relevant rather than generic.

The Magento integration is seamless, which makes a huge difference. Customer and order data syncs automatically, so you can trigger automations based on real purchase activity abandoned cart emails, post-purchase flows, win-back campaigns all pulling live data directly from your store. It removes the manual work and keeps everything connected

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The main areas where I think there's room for improvement are the SMS experience and the reporting dashboards. The SMS functionality feels a little underdeveloped compared to the email side of things it could be more intuitive and better integrated into the overall campaign workflow, so it feels like one seamless experience rather than a separate add-on.

The dashboards are useful but can feel a bit clunky at times. I'd love to see more flexibility in how you can view and customise your reporting being able to pull the metrics that matter most to you in a cleaner, more visual way would make a real difference to how quickly you can act on insights.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital has been really valuable in helping us build out automations and proper marketing systems that run in the background without needing constant manual input. Before, a lot of our communication was reactive we'd send things when we remembered or had time. Now we have flows in place that trigger at the right moments in the customer journey automatically.

The biggest benefit is that it's allowed us to be far more proactive. Whether it's welcoming new customers, following up after a purchase, or re-engaging lapsed ones, those touchpoints are just happening consistently. It frees up time and means nothing falls through the cracks.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Dot Digital has been excellent from day one. Having worked with them previously at Marie Curie and now Sue Ryder, I am finding them consistently good. The customer support from our account manager, Tom, has been great, and the online chat function sees that I never get stuck. Dot Digital is easy to use, I use it on a daily basis. It's also great that it's easy to implement and easy to integrate with other platforms. Having used Mailchimp previously, this system beats it.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

There are a few key things missing from designs, and it seems that big picture thinking has been implemented instead of actually thinking of user experience. This includes things such as the chat icon blocking data in the bottom right hand corner of a report, SMS reporting via a Google Sheet not being a thing just to name a couple.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to transfer programs and emails easily from one account to child accounts is a much-needed feature, and I'm surprised it's one that has been overlooked in the past.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I really like that Dotdigital is easy to use, and it has a lot of integrations available which makes it quite versatile. It's quite technical in how things connect, allowing you to understand the connections and the time it takes for flows to populate. The data management is really robust, and they have strong privacy protocols. The platform also includes a great RFM analysis tool, which I appreciate as it's free with the platform. Additionally, Dotdigital is like a graduated version of Mailchimp with more automation and data analytics, and the support from the Dotdigital team is really robust, which is second to none. The initial setup was very easy for my team.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I think they were pretty late to the SMS game, and so the SMS function feels a little bit slower than other platforms such as klaviyo and Attentive. They also don't have an inbuilt pop-up form, and you need a third party for that, which can be another cost added to the platform, and it would be better if everything was in one place.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dotdigital for data management, easy email building with drag-and-drop templates, and organizing segments. It helps in creating marketing automations with ecommerce platforms and supports decision-making with tools like RFM analysis for A/B testing and understanding customer life cycles.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I use Dotdigital for all our mass emails, automated emails and journeys, forms, surveys, and integration with our Shopify store. I find it to be a one-stop shop for engaging our supporters digitally. It holds all our information and streamlines our communications, keeping us consistent with templates and allowing automation and integration with our websites. I like how it makes a smoother journey for our supporters. The UX of editing and creating emails is much better than other platforms I've used. The help and support are also very good. I enjoy mapping out visual journeys.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Reporting for journeys is difficult when monitoring monthly trends. Exporting engagement data against individuals is impossible. Permission control on users is limited, it would be nice to block permissions to certain data fields. Forms are basic, for example, there are no address verification options and validation of data.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital is a one-stop shop for engaging our supporters digitally, streamlining communications, automation, and integration with our websites, creating a smoother journey for our supporters.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I find Dotdigital incredibly valuable for our email marketing needs. The platform makes it simple to build emails, and we've managed to create a consistent-looking email newsletter thanks to the use of Custom Blocks. The audience segments feature is particularly useful, as we've been able to make detailed segments based on interests or previous clicks, which has boosted our remarketing efforts and increased open and click-to-open rates. The triggered emails feature is superbly useful for us, especially as we use it for transactional emails whenever a donation is made through our integrated payment portal. Overall, these features make Dotdigital stand out to me. Our account manager, Sean Ardley, has been brilliant throughout our time with him - exceptionally helpful and always answers queries promptly.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I would like to see more customization on the Email Dashboard so I can see charts/graphs on the metrics we specifically find useful at our charity. Though, admittedly this could be a knowledge gap on my part.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital allows us to send marketing emails to large audiences, easily build emails with dynamic content, and gather insights like open and click rates. The use of audience segments and triggered emails has improved our remarketing efforts and follow-up communication effectiveness.

What I like best about Dotdigital is how intuitive and flexible the platform is for managing email and marketing automation. It makes it easy to build, schedule, and personalise campaigns without needing a lot of technical expertise. The segmentation tools are particularly strong, allowing us to target the right audiences with relevant messaging, which has noticeably improved engagement.

I also really value the level of support provided by the Dotdigital team. They’re responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in helping us get the most out of the platform. The integrations with other systems we use are smooth, which helps streamline our workflow and saves time across campaigns.

Overall, it’s a reliable, user-friendly platform that supports both day-to-day marketing needs and more advanced campaign strategies.

The reporting and analytics, although useful, can sometimes feel limited or not as intuitive as they could be, particularly when trying to extract more detailed insights or build custom reports. Additionally, certain interface elements can feel slightly dated, and navigating between different sections isn’t always as seamless as it could be.

Dotdigital solves the challenge of connecting multiple marketing tools and systems into one cohesive platform. The easy integrations with our other apps mean we can sync data seamlessly without spending time on manual uploads or complicated workarounds. This ensures our campaigns are always using up-to-date information and reduces the risk of errors.

The UI and UX are also a big advantage, everything is laid out in a clear, straightforward way, which makes it easy for the team to navigate and execute campaigns quickly. This simplicity helps reduce the learning curve and allows us to focus more on strategy and content rather than figuring out how the platform works.

Overall, it streamlines our processes, saves time, and makes it much easier to run effective, data-driven marketing campaigns.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I've been using Dotdigital for about seven years across two organizations, and my experience has been consistently excellent. One of Dotdigital's biggest strengths is its people, who are knowledgeable and proactive. I find the account managers genuinely help us get the most out of the platform, making a real difference. The migration from Mailchimp to Dotdigital was seamless, and the onboarding process was smooth and well-managed. Our onboarding manager, Jeri, made a complex transition feel straightforward and well-structured. Since going live nearly three years ago, we've seen continuous improvement in our email performance. Dotdigital enables us to build complex, engaging supporter journeys and take a strategic approach to lifecycle marketing. I appreciate that Dotdigital is not just an email provider; we've expanded into SMS campaigns, WhatsApp messaging, and integrated forms, which is a major advantage for both data and operations. The level of ongoing support is excellent, with strong, responsive, and strategic customer success managers. Dotdigital offers robust functionality, ease of use, strong integrations, and excellent human support, which is rare in the market. They also invest in their community through events and learning opportunities, which I find particularly valuable for growth and staying competitive. Additionally, the platform is intuitive, especially when building complex journeys, and the documentation and live support from their team are outstanding. They are an invaluable extension of our team, giving us the confidence to keep pushing forward.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Integrations within the charity sector are somewhat basic as an offering, and bespoke integration projects can be somewhat expensive. More bespoke integrations for specific tools such as Raiser’s Edge and other payment platforms would be helpful. For example, a direct integration with iRaiser, our donation platform, would be valuable to see how much income was brought in by a campaign or journey. This would help from a reporting and segmentation perspective.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital solves fragmentation by providing an omni-channel solution for supporters. It's intuitive, supports complex journeys, and offers robust functionality with strong, proactive account support, which is invaluable for our team. They enable us to confidently advance our marketing strategies.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I love the interface Dotdigital has, making it easy for me to find campaigns and other tools quickly. I was able to navigate the site from day one and have consistently been able to find what I need. I also appreciate the customer service, which has been really quick and helpful. Dotdigital integrates with our CRM effortlessly, and I find its ease of use in sending emails and the number of sends it can produce are valuable for our lead generation campaigns. We've used Dotdigital for 8 years, and I believe its capabilities have been a strong reason for our growth. I didn't personally set it up, but from what I know, it was pretty simple and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The main problem for me is the lack of templates for making HTML campaigns, and some of the templates out there are also quite basic. There has also been the odd occasion in which emails haven't been able to export out of Dotdigital, but this could have been an error from our end and not Dotdigital's.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dotdigital to sort emails and integrate responses into our CRM. It helps generate leads with ease and integrates effortlessly with Salesforce, improving our email marketing efficiency.
