It's easy to find anything I need in the timesheet module, making the process of tracking our employees' time relatively painless. If edits need to be made due to incorrect postings, it's easy to correct and have employees re-sign timesheets. We can efficiently manage timesheet management, payroll, and posting labor distributions with reduced staff. Once you learn the processes, it's an easy and efficient system to use. **What do you dislike about Deltek Costpoint?** I don't really dislike anything about Costpoint. However, I will say that I recently completed several Costpoint certificates on the Deltek Learning Hub and didn't receive the badge or certification email upon completion. I completed the Costpoint Silver Business Intelligence Report Authoring Certification Exam, and also the Costpoint Silver Labor Management Certification exam but didn't receive the badge or certification email for completing these two exams. The automated email stated that I should receive them within a 48 hour period, but it's been greater than that timeframe and I still haven't received. Once you understand how the different modules work and how they connect, you start to see new ways to use the system to build more efficient processes and streamline day-to-day work. **What do you dislike about Deltek Costpoint?** The data output reports aren’t easy to work with, and we need additional bolt-on solutions just to get Excel downloads that are actually usable for our reporting and analysis. This includes Costpoint Enterprise Reporting or Business Intelligence because the filter prompts are sometimes confusing and cannot be used quickly and efficiently. Drill-down into the transactions would be a great addition. **What problems is Deltek Costpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Costpoint is a leader in project-based reporting. It is easy to manage all types of transactions by projects, report on them and still be able to easily use the same data for US GAAP reporting. Being able to automatically burden project costs and compute revenue is invaluable to CAS compliance while being able to provide transparency to external auditors, including DCAA. We were able to use the Pools functionality to automate intercompany eliminations, taking days off our close cycle while making the underlying data more agile for re-orgs or historical reporting. ### 3. The system allows all costs including labor materials and overhead to be tied directly to specific projects which makes it much easier to track job costs monitor budgets and evaluate profitability. I also appreciate how Costpoint integrates timekeeping payroll and accounting so that once timesheets are approved the information flows directly into the financial system which helps reduce manual errors and saves time. Another strong feature is its ability to maintain compliance and keep records organized which is especially helpful for audits and reporting requirements. In addition the reporting and drill down capabilities make it easy to review transactions and analyze financial performance in detail. It's great to be able to switch between them. The application takes a lot of the guessing out of the equation, which makes navigating program management responsibilities easier for me as a financial analyst. Using Deltek Costpoint has made my job easier, and I find myself learning something new every time I use it. I especially love the ability to create different project levels within a level 1 program, such as level 2 for the CLIN and level 3 for the WBS. My experience has been very positive, and I feel there's nothing Deltek Costpoint can't do when managing financials for any given program. **What do you dislike about Deltek Costpoint?** Sometimes in the inventory part of Costpoint (“manage inventory projects”), when I am creating new inventory abbreviation and when I click save, the page goes away.
