"Branching Logic and Live Dashboards Keep Our Agency Surveys Fast and Client-Ready"

What do you like best about CreateSurvey?

When I’m building audience research assets for our roster of brand clients at Pulse Creative Partners, CreateSurvey stands out as the survey tool that aligns closest with our fast-moving campaign delivery rhythm. As the person coordinating timelines between our in-house creatives, freelance contractors and brand stakeholders, I rely heavily on its conditional branching logic builder every week to craft tailored research questionnaires. I put this feature to work recently for a local apparel brand’s pre-launch market test. If a respondent marked they had not shopped with this brand previously, the survey automatically skipped granular product-fit questions and redirected them toward brand association and messaging prompts. This intelligent routing eliminated piles of inconsistent, half-finished responses, shaving roughly three hours each week off the data scrubbing work I once had to complete manually in spreadsheets.

I also value its flexible embedding toolkit, which fits naturally into the multi-channel campaigns we build. We regularly place feedback surveys on client landing pages, inside email nurture funnels and on private client preview hubs, and the generated embed code renders responsive forms that adapt to each brand’s visual identity without our designers writing custom CSS. A few weeks back, we ran a post-campaign feedback survey for a café client’s summer promotion. I embedded the finished survey on their mobile-first landing page, and the layout adjusted automatically for phone visitors, who accounted for close to 72% of all responses. I can send draft preview links straight to our freelance copywriters to refine question wording, before we share the final version for the client’s formal sign-off.

One pleasant surprise we did not anticipate during our initial SaaS evaluation is the live reporting dashboard, which simplifies how we share insights with clients. Rather than exporting bulk CSV files and building charts from scratch for every weekly check-in slide deck, I can capture live visual summaries and share direct dashboard links with stakeholders. While running audience testing for a wellness brand’s Instagram campaign earlier this quarter, I sent over a live dashboard link mid-data collection. The client could watch preference results update in real time and signed off on a creative adjustment two days ahead of our scheduled deadline, which kept our launch timeline on track and cut down on long approval email threads.

Since our lean 11–50 person team has no dedicated IT staff, its ready-built native integrations are a huge practical advantage. Completed survey entries flow automatically into our CRM and cloud file storage, populating client contact profiles without manual copy-paste work from our account team. It will not replace our dedicated creative review and project management software, so I still cross-reference survey findings against our campaign task boards to map insights to deliverables. Even with that minor extra step, CreateSurvey removes major bottlenecks from our market research workflow. It lets us turn raw audience feedback into concrete creative direction faster and keeps our client-facing research polished and reliable under tight launch schedules. What do you dislike about CreateSurvey?

Even though CreateSurvey handles most of our brand audience research work reliably, I keep running into gaps that create extra manual overhead as I coordinate campaign deliverables for Pulse Creative Partners. The biggest frustration comes from its limited custom branding controls for survey completion screens, a section our clients consistently ask us to refine for a seamless brand experience. When we wrap up a feedback questionnaire, the default thank-you page only supports basic text and a single static logo upload; there is no built-in way to add custom call-to-action buttons that link back to a client’s product page, event sign-up form or campaign landing page. For a pop-up research survey we built for a boutique skincare brand last month, the client wanted respondents who finished the poll to jump straight to their limited-edition pre-order page. I had to build a separate redirect workaround outside the platform, and that hack broke briefly mid-campaign, forcing me to troubleshoot and reshare the survey link with the client while our freelance copy team waited to push live ad traffic.

I also struggle with how rigid its notification triggers are configured. We rely on survey alerts to flag high-priority feedback for clients, such as negative brand sentiment or open-ended customer complaints. CreateSurvey can only fire alerts after every single submission, with no rule builder to filter notifications by specific answer selections. On our recent restaurant client post-promotion survey, hundreds of neutral responses triggered automatic emails every day, flooding both my inbox and the client’s account manager. I had to turn notifications off entirely and manually scan the response log twice a day to catch critical negative feedback, adding roughly two hours of repetitive review work to my weekly schedule.

Its file upload field carries another notable limitation that slows our qualitative research. We sometimes run concept tests where we ask respondents to upload screenshots or photos showing how they interact with a client’s social ads. CreateSurvey caps individual uploads at a small file size and does not auto-organize submitted files into labelled folders tied to survey questions. After a creative concept test for an apparel client, I downloaded over 120 separate image attachments and sorted them manually into labelled folders in our cloud drive, matching each file back to its corresponding respondent entry. This sorting task pulled me away from coordinating our designer and copywriter deadlines right before a scheduled campaign launch.

I do value its branching logic and live dashboard for core survey builds, and I have found one small unexpected upside to these restrictions: they pushed me to standardize a pre-launch checklist for every survey we deploy. This checklist now includes redirect testing and notification preview checks, which has reduced other types of survey launch errors across our client roster. Still, these shortcomings become more pronounced when we serve clients who demand fully branded, conversion-focused research experiences. If the platform added configurable end-page CTAs, conditional alert rules and structured upload sorting, it would fit our agency’s multi-channel campaign workflows far better. Right now, these missing features force constant workarounds that eat into the tight turnaround windows our boutique agency operates within. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
