"No-Code Skip Logic and White-Label Surveys That Streamline Market Research"

What do you like best about CreateSurvey?

As Senior Market Research & Consumer Insights Operations Manager at Insight Forge Research, I manage end-to-end consumer research projects, design survey campaigns, recruit panel participants, and test research SaaS tools for our boutique market research agency. Our lean 11–50 person team has no dedicated IT personnel, so we prioritize survey platforms that support complex skip logic, customizable branding and robust data export without requiring advanced coding. What I value most about CreateSurvey is its flexible branching and skip logic builder for multi-stage consumer surveys. The visual rule-building panel lets me set up conditional question paths without writing any code, which saves me roughly six hours each week that I previously spent rebuilding survey flows and troubleshooting broken logic in older tools.

We use CreateSurvey heavily for quantitative consumer studies, brand perception tracking and pre-focus group screening surveys. Many of our client projects require tailored respondent journeys. For example, during a recent beverage brand consumer segmentation study, we needed to route participants down different question sets based on their beverage consumption habits. If a respondent said they purchased bottled drinks weekly, they would receive a set of questions about packaging preferences; infrequent buyers would skip that section and move directly to brand awareness questions. Using CreateSurvey’s drag-and-drop logic builder, I mapped out all branching rules in a single afternoon. The platform instantly previews each respondent path, so I could catch logic errors before launching the survey to our panel, reducing the number of unusable survey responses that used to happen when hidden rule conflicts slipped through our checks.

Another feature we rely on daily is its customizable survey styling and white-label settings. Our clients require surveys to match their brand colors, logos and tone to maintain consistent participant experience. CreateSurvey lets us upload client brand assets, adjust button styling and remove all platform branding with a few clicks. This eliminates the need to send custom CSS code to developers, which is critical since we have no IT support. We also use the built-in quota management tool to cap responses by demographic segments such as age range and geographic region. For that beverage study, we set separate quotas for four age groups, and the survey automatically closed for each segment once we hit the target sample size, preventing over-collection of redundant data and keeping our project budget on track.

An unexpected benefit I’ve discovered is the real-time response dashboard with live filtering. While a survey is still in field, I can filter incoming responses by demographic variables and quickly spot response bias or incomplete answer patterns. On one fast-track retail client project, we noticed a spike in incomplete answers from mobile participants within the first day of launch. The live dashboard helped me isolate the problematic long text question, and I shortened it immediately before more participants dropped out. This preserved our sample quality and prevented us from needing to re-run the survey to recover lost responses.

CreateSurvey streamlines our core market research workflow by combining no-code branching logic, quota controls and white-label survey design. It removes the technical barriers that once slowed down our survey build and testing phases. For our small agency without IT staff, this tool lets our research team focus on interpreting consumer feedback and preparing client insights reports instead of debugging survey code or fixing broken routing rules. We can launch robust, professional screening and quantitative surveys faster, maintain high data quality, and reliably deliver actionable research findings under tight client timelines. What do you dislike about CreateSurvey?

As Senior Market Research & Consumer Insights Operations Manager at Insight Forge Research, we rely on CreateSurvey to build screening questionnaires and quantitative consumer surveys for brand clients. While its visual skip logic builder works well for basic routing, the platform has critical limitations that create extra manual work for our research team, especially around qualitative open-ended text analysis, limited native integrations, and inflexible data export formatting. Our lean 11–50 person agency has no dedicated IT personnel, so these gaps force us to build clunky manual workarounds that eat into time reserved for analyzing consumer insights and drafting client reports.

The most frustrating drawback is the complete lack of built-in text analytics for open-ended responses. In market research, open text answers often deliver the most valuable consumer feedback, and we regularly collect hundreds of free-text comments in each project. CreateSurvey simply stores raw text responses without sentiment tagging, keyword grouping, or thematic coding tools. During a recent snack brand perception study, we gathered more than 450 open-ended comments about product taste and packaging. I had to export all raw text data and manually code every single response in Excel, a process that took nearly seven hours of extra labor. Other research-focused survey platforms auto-tag recurring themes and sentiment, which would have cut this workload dramatically. Instead, our team spends hours manually sorting consumer comments before we can pull meaningful insights for our client deliverables.

Another major pain point is its narrow native integration library. Our daily stack includes panel recruitment tools and Google Sheets, where we track participant quotas and manage respondent screening data. CreateSurvey does not sync natively with our panel vendor platform, so every time we launch a new survey, I have to manually copy and paste unique participant links and then cross-reference completed responses between two separate systems. For a fast-turnaround skincare client project, this manual sync caused us to accidentally re-invite 12 already-completed respondents, wasting limited panel recruitment budget and risking participant fatigue. We can use Zapier for basic connections, but those workflows are unstable and require constant monitoring because we lack IT support to troubleshoot automation failures.

CreateSurvey’s export formatting restrictions also slow down our statistical analysis workflow. The platform exports CSV files with fixed column structures, and it cannot split multi-select answer choices into separate binary columns required for statistical analysis. When we collect multi-response questions about consumer media habits, every selected option stacks into one single cell. Before we can run cross-tab analysis in our statistical tool, we must manually split these cells in Excel, cleaning the dataset row by row. This repetitive data cleaning adds administrative overhead and increases the risk of human error that can skew research findings.

An unexpected downside we encountered is unreliable mobile rendering for longer surveys. Many of our participants take surveys on mobile phones, and when questionnaires exceed 25 questions, the page scroll behavior becomes inconsistent. Some respondents reported that matrix rating tables shift out of alignment on smaller screens, leading to accidental selections and careless response data. We discovered this issue halfway through a retail tracking study and had to pause fieldwork to shorten the survey, which pushed back our client delivery deadline by two business days.

CreateSurvey serves us well for straightforward screening surveys and simple skip logic, but it lacks the advanced text analysis, research-grade export options and panel tool integrations that our consumer research projects demand. Without in-house IT resources to maintain complex automation scripts, these limitations add heavy manual data cleaning and coding work to every project. Mobile rendering issues for long questionnaires also introduce data quality risks that can compromise the reliability of our consumer insights, forcing our small team to spend extra time validating and repairing datasets before preparing client research reports.
