What do you like best about Cosmos Video?

What I like most about Cosmos is how much it has invigorated the workplace culture across our remote team. As expected, it can feel pretty alienating at times when you only ever communicate with colleagues during coordinated sessions. With Cosmos, beyond the obvious convenience of being able to reach anyone on my team at any point, it’s been genuinely pleasant to more tangibly coexist in a shared space and feel like people are really only a room away, in the traditional sense. What do you dislike about Cosmos Video?

This may be user error on my part, but the only real difficulty I’ve run into with Cosmos is that the transcriber feels a bit finicky. If you forget to switch it off, the recording bot seems to stay in the room it was brought into almost indefinitely, and it also seemed like the only person who could turn it off was the person who started it in the first place. I’ve also found it hard to share transcripts across the team because, to my (admittedly limited) understanding, they’re only shared with whoever started the recording bot, which means extra steps must be taken to circulate them. What problems is Cosmos Video solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problems it solves feel almost innumerable. With Cosmos, it’s been much easier to reach members of my team in situations where I previously would have struggled, delayed by the inconsistency of calling them or even booking a meeting. As a result, I can be more reactive to day-to-day demands: I’m able to check in with people throughout the day and hold individuals accountable to deadlines, because everyone is simply easier to reach and more present.

The status feature also helps a lot. At a glance, I can monitor everyone’s availability, which makes it easier to tell who’s in a meeting, who’s away at lunch, and so on; things I would otherwise have to guess based on someone not picking up my calls. It adds an extra layer of consideration for my team, since I can avoid disturbing them when they’re trying to focus or are otherwise occupied. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
