## Contentful Reviews
  ### 1. User-Friendly, MACH-Aligned CMS That Works Great for Marketers and Developers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian R. | Senior Business Relationship Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

First and foremost, Contentful provides a very user-friendly interface for day-to-day users. It’s intuitive, easy to navigate, and clean, which is especially important for our brand and marketing teams. From a technical perspective, its best-in-class MACH principles align directly with our strategy from a product and product delivery standpoint. It’s also developer-friendly and maintains strong relationships with other products and services in the marketplace.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Content at scale can quickly become chaotic without clear process and governance. In Contentful, content fragments need to be thoughtfully architected, with consistent naming conventions, shared definitions, appropriate access controls, and well-defined workflows. If this foundation isn’t established upfront, Contentful can become increasingly difficult to manage as you scale.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful provides a single source of truth for content across our customer experiences and our brands online. It powers content within our headless architecture, centralizing how we manage content so that one consistent source of truth can be used everywhere. It has also become pivotal to our MACH strategy.

  ### 2. Centralized Templates That Make Publishing Across Clients Effortless and Easy to share.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarun Y. | Client success specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

the best thing about on ramp is that its a centralised platform I can draft multiple templates for the needs of my business for all my different clients and with little to no effort I can make changes across all of those templated and publish them.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

One limitation I’ve noticed is that there are some formatting issues, and there isn’t a dashboard that shows all of our work in one place within Contentful.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful solves the problem of keeping track of all the drafts and templates we prepare for our clients. Otherwise, we’d be sending everything individually as Word files over email, separately, which would quickly become a hassle. Contentful centralises this process and really helps with managing text and templates in bulk.

  ### 3. Intuitive Content Management with Minor Webhook Limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marta P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I appreciate that Contentful allows the marketing team to freely create content for landing pages without affecting the app. Once I understood that it's solely for managing content and not for creating components or the landing pages themselves, I found it really intuitive. It has many features for linking content and configuring customized content types. The initial setup was also easy once I grasped the nature of the product.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The webhook configuration could be more flexible. In my specific use case, for actions like Archived, the payload was rigid and we did not get to make it work as expected.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful allows my marketing team to create landing page content freely without affecting the app, making content creation intuitive with features for linking content and configuring customized Content Types.

  ### 4. Not the most intuitive platform, but one of the most in-depth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph P. | Content Editor, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I like that one you create a module, it is very easy to replicate across various pages. This means you don't have to do the same work over and over again.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I think the main benefit would be that naming conventions could be a little better. Sometimes pages can get lost when you are searching for them.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me build a lot of pages quite quickly. Particularly good when I want to replicate modules across pages. Once you've got the hang of it, you'll quickly realise how powerful it is (but this will take a bit of time).

  ### 5. Flexible and scalable headless CMS for modern digital experiences

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raja S. | Freelance Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The best feature of Contentful is its headless CMS architecture, which allows content to be easily managed and delivered across multiple platforms (web, mobile, apps). Its clean UI, powerful APIs, and flexible content modeling are very helpful for both developers and content teams. Performance and scalability are also strong.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Contentful's pricing might seem a bit expensive, especially for small teams or beginners. It takes time to understand the initial setup and content modeling. Some advanced features might be a bit complex for non-technical users.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful makes content management centralized and structured, making it easy to update and reuse content across multiple platforms. It improves coordination between development and content teams, reduces manual efforts, and makes content delivery faster and more consistent.

  ### 6. Contentful is flexible, easy to use, allows quick dynamic updates, and leverages our custom UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica F. | Senior IT Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

We have been using Contentful as our CMS for the past year and a half. It allows us to dynamically update our website's home page, keeping it current, as well as manage our resource pages that include training materials, guides, and general user assets. Additionally, we rely on Contentful to manage our announcement banners, enabling us to deliver real-time user alerts. The experience has been excellent, as we were able to design the frontend to match the seamless look and feel of the rest of our application's UI/UX, while retaining the flexibility to update text, images, and assets through the CMS without needing development releases. Contentful has proven to be cost-effective, straightforward to learn, and has fully met our requirements.

The product is highly flexible, handling our peak traffic periods without any issues. Update statuses are clearly indicated, whether content is published or in draft mode, and the ability to schedule updates for a later time has been especially useful for timed announcements. Overall, it has been relatively easy to learn and has enabled us to become productive quickly.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

There is no support for search integration on the frontend, this requires a third-party integration with potential additional costs. Additionally, this may not be an issue with Contentful, it may be how we set it up, but I wish there was a way to support multiple environments of a site without pushing to all at the same time. When we publish in Contentful, we publish to all environments at once which makes testing tough after we went live.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to provide user resources in a flexible way that can be updated by admins real time, consist of our new UI/UX design, and allow for cross-team collaboration. Contentful was easy to integrate, met our budget, and checked our core requirements.

  ### 7. Intuitive System with Module Reusability, Needs Visual Refinement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph P. | Content Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I use Contentful to upload new copy and amend existing copy. It is quite intuitive, making uploading copy simple once I've learned the system. The ability to create modules is far and away its best feature. This massively reduces the amount of writing needed, especially for ubiquitous content like terms and conditions or author profiles. It means I don't have to write the same bits of copy again and again, and I can simply drop a module into any new page. The initial setup of Contentful was relatively easy, as the system is pretty simple and intuitive, so getting up to speed was quite simple.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Visually it is quite poor. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand where in a page you are. Also, because naming conventions are dictated by the user, it can be very tough to find the right modules if they have been created by someone else.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is intuitive and simplifies uploading copy. Creating modules is a standout feature, allowing reuse across pages, saving time and effort.

  ### 8. Contentful’s Flexibility Makes It Easy to Build Custom Authoring Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

What I like most about Contentful is how flexible it is. You can build within the system to provide additional features for authors or developers that may not be available out of the box.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I’d like to see more in-depth functionality for authoring conditional logic and required fields.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is our primary tool for content authoring and the main driver of our content workflow.

  ### 9. Contentful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anshu K. | Product specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is tool which is mainly used for create , mange, and delivery ofdigital contents by using API.it is working as content store where we can store different type of contents like photo , vedios, images, data etc and after that we can use this content in mobile applications, smart watch and mobile.it is esy to use in any organization.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

sometime it require technical skill to handle it and its advance feature require subscriptions either monthly or annually which make costly to use everyone .

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can store multiple type of data in one place which make easy to use these document anywhere and provide support to our customer. it is mostly used by developers who can manage coding on daily basics.

  ### 10. Contentful has been a welcome and needed change to our organisation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony C. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It has been easy to use and as a result of that, easy to train our content team. While it took a little adjustment in mental models, the benefits were immediately felt by everyone in the team. It's amazing being able to edit everything about a page without going to multiple places, everything opens as a nested window in the primary content model.

The development team have enjoyed working with Contentful and found it relatively easy to implement our 3 sites. Maintenance and iteration have also become far simpler since the move to Contentful, we are releasing at least once a sprint now.

We haven't had much need for customer support but they have been responsive when we have needed implementation questions answered.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Due to the size of our organisation we are on a relatively low tier subscription, the number of content models included is a little limiting and definitely the bottleneck. There is currently no way to increase the number of content models without upgrading the entire subscription but we don't need any of the other parts of the upgrade.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More regular iteration of our content experience and better scalability - in the past we were extremely slow moving with releases taking up to 80 hours of staff time.

Improved site and SEO performance - improved organic traffic and better user experience.

More autonomy in content management - the team are able to manage everything they need to in the content experience. This has taken a lot of pressure off the technical team and enabled them to focus on more important work.

  ### 11. Effortless Setup and Intuitive Platform from Day One

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

What I like most about Contentful is that it has a platform that is easy to use and very intuitive. You can understand how to connect your web page and start creating pages from day one.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Currently, I'm satisfied with all the features Contentful has to offer.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is helping my company easily upload blogs to our page.

  ### 12. The most robust CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrés E. | Principal Director, Platform Architecture, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I choose to go with Contentful when I'm building a project that has content at the core. Contentful offers a robust, battle-tested solution alongside a rich, optimized out-of-the-box UX, a great Dev experience, and a performant API layer.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Prices tend to be higher than the competitors, which means that if the content is not that relevant to your project in relation to other features, you probably will find it too expensive.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful allows our engineering teams to forget about dynamic content and everything related to it with confidence, to focus only on building differentiated experiences.

  ### 13. Effortless Scheduling and Container Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell E. | Digital Implementation Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Being able to schedule things, schedule containers, switch bits out.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Can’t upload anything by spreadsheet, lack of ai features.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being about to create product lists with codes in that aren’t live. Speedily create product lists and immediate changes.

  ### 14. Flexible and Developer-Friendly Headless CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful offers a highly structured and API-first approach to content management, making it easy to create and manage modular content. Its intuitive UI allows content editors to work independently, while developers enjoy the flexibility of integrating with any front-end framework. The role-based access controls and versioning features are especially helpful in collaborative environments.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The learning curve can be steep for non-technical users initially. The pricing can also become expensive for growing teams or enterprise-level usage. Some basic features like advanced localization or asset organization require premium tiers or workarounds.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful helps separate content from presentation, enabling our content team to update information without needing developer assistance. This saves time, reduces bottlenecks, and makes our workflows more efficient. It also makes it easy to manage consistent content across web and mobile apps through a single platform.

  ### 15. Balancing Power and Simplicity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It was very easy for our team to create, manage and publish content mainly because of the user friendliness of the interface, and the management capabilities Contentful offers. The modular content allowed us to tailor our content according to specific project requirements. Contentful's features made sure our digital experiences remains both dynamic and engaging.

Also, the delivery infrastructure on Contentful is very reliable which ensured a smooth and efficient experience for both content creators and end-users. In addition, the support for different content types such as including text, images, and videos enabled us to deliver content that’s high quality and diverse across multiple channels.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

A challenge we faced was related to circular references on the data that was returned from the Contentful API. This was a major hurdle as we couldn't find a simple solution for this problem which happened to be a common problem amongst others. Because we had to handle circular references and implementing work arounds, it led us to developing a less than ideal development process. This aspect was time consuming and made it more complex.

While we experienced this setback, we appreciate the efforts made by Contentful to implement continuous improvements and we hope to see enhancements in handling circular references in future.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful solved the challenges of content management and delivery. The CMS architecture helped us to separate content creation and presentation which aided in the ability to be flexible and needing to adapt to suit our requirements.

With Contentful we are able to easily manage and organise our content which ensures we have consistency across all our platforms and devices. This saves us time and resources which we can use towards creating high quality content.

  ### 16. The best and easiest CMS Tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ali S. | Product Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Easy to use , very easy to implement Models, supports localization and a lot of integrations

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

What I hate about contentful is they don't have the option to replicate from one environment to another,

For example I have 2 env, staging and prod, If I created and tested something on staging , I will have to again create the same thing on prod which is really annoying and time consuming

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful saves a lot of time becaue we don't need to create internal cms to manage everything, simply create BFF models on contentful, publish them, and voila you're done. The changes are also reflected very quickly which allows us to experiment in a lot of ways

  ### 17. Contentful: A Reliable and Versatile CMS Powering Multiple Projects Across Companies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug C. | Head of Marketing, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is incredibly easy to use, making it a go-to CMS for both developers and content managers. Its API-first approach ensures seamless integrations with a wide range of other systems, allowing for high interoperability. I've leveraged it across various companies and clients for a diverse range of use cases, and it consistently delivers. As a truly composable technology, it gives teams the flexibility to build exactly what they need, whether it's for a simple site or a more complex, content-driven application.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

While Contentful excels in many areas, the pricing structure can become a consideration as you scale. As your content and API usage grow, costs can quickly escalate, which may be a challenge for some organizations when scaling larger applications or content-heavy platforms.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is instrumental in acting as the enterprise source of truth for managing content at scale. It allows teams across different departments and channels to collaborate and operationalize their content strategies effectively. For me, the most value lies in the speed to market and time to value it brings to our customers, enabling businesses to extract more value from their content investments much faster.

  ### 18. Powerful, if you need the power

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan D. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is strongest in offering structured content models for developers to query and consume via APIs. This is especially powerful when managing content across platforms such as web and mobile. The headless CMS allows flexibility in site or app hosting & implementation.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Because how models are used and rendered depends on the quality of the data modeling work, and the quality of the client implementations, this can lead to a lot of complexity and it being unclear to the Contentful user how to configure the content models to get a desired site behavior. This is not inherent to Contentful, but a risk that the greater abstraction of the content makes possible. Put some real thought into how content is modeled in Contentful, and keep it simple.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prevents us from having to manage and support a CMS. Allows us flexibility in how we use our content and host code using our content.

  ### 19. good alternative to stripe

  ### 20. Easy tool for content managment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It's fast and easy to learn. It's very rare to have bugs

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Uploading pciture bigger than the recommended size gives ane error after the uploading. It would be better to avoid to upload it from the start.

Sometimes it could be diffcult to have a grasp of what the final page will look like. Could be greate to hava a " preview" section

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just updating regurarly pages on the website, changing deep links, create easily new pages from old components

  ### 21. Easy way to update image & Video with URL

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Easy way to update image & Video with URL and there navigation

There should be no duplicate entries.

  ### 22. Great CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful has been great for mamanging different types of content and cross-connecting them on our website. It also working well for us for publishing content in multiple languages. Contentful is easy to use and we work with it almost every day.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Contentful does require a developer to set it up.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is great for connecting and cross referencing content as well as publishing content in different languages.

  ### 23. Satisfied

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arbi A. | Marketing , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Structured data, content modeling, fast delivery

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Limited as free, no visual page bulider

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves time

  ### 24. Robust for devs, but clunky for authors

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oskari G. | Senior Web Engineer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful seems to be very developer-oriented in its in-depth features, and the way they are presented. The new Studio experience seems quite exciting, and should make the solution a lot easier to use.

Integrating the main Contentful API with our website build system was incredibly straightforward.

The support team (once you're a prospect or a paying customer) are very responsive, quick, and helpful. This even extends to their Engineering team being available to look at issues on their open source repos.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

While the developer-facing features are top-notch, the actual content authoring experience is frankly sub-par, particularly for an enterprise oriented platform like this.

There are frankly no collaboration features to speak of, and it's too easy for multiple authors to accidentally overwrite each others' changes. Commenting can only be done a field level (so if the field is, say, a very long textarea, it's not very useful).

Many features have UX complexities that make sense from a database POV, but feel clunky from an author POV. Being able to completely customise the editing interface is frequently touted as the jewel in their crown - but we found that even for simple things (e.g. allowing authors to define a custom HTML attribute for links) you'll end up having to cut a completely custom WYSIWYG editor plugin from scratch.

The sales team could only offer custom development services from their partner agencies as a solution - and so it was difficult to see the ROI on spending five figures for a licence for software we'd have to spend six figures on to develop all the missing features.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking to identify a solution for a headless content management, to simplify our content editing process.

  ### 25. A well-structured CMS suited for complex websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alzbeta K. | Senior Localization Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

As a Localization Manager, I appreciate how easily different language versions can be added to each Contentful entry.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Having to publish the entries for all languages at once.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to streamline the localization of our Help Center.

  ### 26. Flexible & efficient in web publishing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

A list of options and features that are added as part on the cms.
Customer support is a good add on.
Abbility to get integrations and options at a global level.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The product is set specific and there is not much adjustability when it comes to soecific integrations hence you end us building a internal build which is a big oevrtake of maintenance.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Essential web publishing efficiency.

  ### 27. Flexible system for setting up various digital platforms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Museums and Institutions | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I experience working with Contentful as a pleasant activity. You will quickly understand how to work with this headless CMS and what options it offers for building web pages. You can choose from different content types to work with, resulting in varied-looking pages. The ability to call a content type of your choice from anywhere on a page is useful and saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Because the parts of a page are built in a nested manner, it sometimes takes some time to find where exactly you are. But you quickly learn to find your way around this. It helps you think carefully about the way you build your page.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful gives us the opportunity to have different users work on the website at the same time and quickly manage different web platforms.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriela R. | Manager, Consumer Content, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

As a content manager, I've worked with other CMS systems like WordPress, but Contentful is by far the easiest to use. The interface is pleasant, and I enjoy creating unique strictures for each webpage or email. I'm not a developer whatsoever, and I found it really easy to navigate and learn.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I haven't had any issues with Contentful. I am still learning new tips and tricks as I go, but that's just par for the course.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previouly used HubSpot but it wasn't as scalable. Contentful helps us do more, with less effort.

  ### 30. Easy Navigation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

What I like most about Contentful is that it's easy to navigate. They have a tutorial for you as soon as you join, and after you get the hang of it, it's like second nature. It's really helped my team make a cohesive website. I use Contentful every day for my job and it's one of the best software I've used for content management.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

There isn't anything in particular that I would say I dislike about it. The only thing I could think of is that it seems intimidating at first, but once you know your way around you'll have no issues.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the way that we have to categorize things for our website. It puts everything into consideration when you're designing your website. It makes it so easy to have a cohesive website.

  ### 31. Great headless CMS, which is easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Manager IT-Architecture, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is a really nice headless CMS which gives an easy start, but supports you also when you are growing. The Rest based integration into your frontend works well and the SDKs which are provided make it even easier with the integration.

Even users which haven't used a CMS before were really easy to onboard and it was easy to integrate also customized previews.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Contentful provides a nice branch functionality for changes within the structure of your CMS. And allows to merge them with each other. Unfortunately something like that doesn't exists for the content itself.

Therefore I would wish an easier way to release content to production. The release feature improves this however already a lot.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a non profit skiing club we are offering to our members and customers skiing lessons and events in a non profit manner. Contentful helps us thereby to keep our webpage always up-to-date in an easy manner and allows several volunteers to contribute to it.

  ### 32. Easy to use and with a fast learning curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Silvia C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

- It has a large number of functions to enrich text (bold, italic...).

- It allows adding new fields to already functional structures as well as modifying existing ones quickly and efficiently.

- It allows monitoring the existing links between the different content created, being able to understand at a glance the consequences of possible content modifications.

- It offers a wide variety of filters that make it easy to locate specific content.

- It is user-friendly for users with basic experience in CMS platforms, with a smooth learning curve and key functionalities at the click of a button.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

- If the text entered in certain fields contains remains of any previous format, the text is not interpreted correctly. If this problem were solved, hours of revision would be saved.

- It could incorporate the use of AI for translations so that the user only has to fill the inputs in one language and the rest of the languages are filled in automatically.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can have all the content centralized and available for different outputs.

  ### 33. Very enjoyable experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful and its libraries provide a great developer experience and the CDN performance for images is also great. Migrations are relatively easy as well.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Managing and transferring content from one environment could be better

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing content for the blogs on Indic games is mad very easy through Contentful

  ### 34. A developer-friendly CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carles S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is one of the best Headless CMS on the market. It offers a very intuitive user interface, it’s very flexible and highly scalable. Contentful it’s a good tool if you want to decouple content creation from delivery.
The most significant advantage of Contenful is that it provides a powerful API, SDK and a vast ecosystem integration. The platform has an extensive documentation and developer resources that make it easy to integrate Contentful into existing workflows or create custom solutions.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I don't miss too many features of Contentful. But maybe it could improve the massive import and export of content from the app, without using Contentful cli.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful solves the problem of being able to separate data input from output. In addition, the interface of your app is very simple to use.
We have been able to develop our project in a simpler and faster way.

  ### 35. Navigating the Pros and Cons of Contentful: An In-Depth Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rexford A. | Founder, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is a cloud-based service, eliminating the need for users to manage infrastructure and ensuring high availability.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Some users like myself find the content entry and editing interface less intuitive compared to other CMS platforms.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional CMS solutions can be restrictive in terms of customization. Contentful offers flexibility in content modeling, allowing you to tailor the system to your unique requirements.

Benefit: Contentful can accommodate the growing needs of my digital projects without sacrificing performance.

  ### 36. Great headless, API-led CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa R. | Senior Technical Product Manager. Customer Data, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The level of flexibility regarding what is possible within Contentful via APIs and the supporting documentation, the ease of making and pushing content changes for both the global and regional business teams, Strong architectural support during the onboarding process

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

There need to be more templates available that teams can take advantage of since it is such a different approach for many people who are used to legacy CMS' systems. The process to push content changes to a staging environment first to test and then out to production could be more seamless.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pushing content to our headless react application which lives both on our website globally as well as in our in-store retail application to help customers pick the right product for themselves. The benefit is the speed in which updates can be made and the flexibility of how each regional business team can make updates per region.

  ### 37. I consider it very organized and intuitive.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ximena Q. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It is effortless to understand how it works; it is pretty helpful that you can filter the multiple functions and parts of the website, so you can easily find the components and modify them.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

In my personal experience, one of the things that I dislike is that if you don't have the newest version, there are many things that you can't do. Another thing is that when you upload an image, it can lose its quality.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my personal opinion, one of the things that it solves for the company I work for is that whenever we have to update a promotion or present a temporary benefit for our clients, and we eventually have to go back to our traditional advertising, we have a record of the versions that mention the time it was last updated and we can quickly go back to it.

  ### 38. Empowers marketing teams to publish content w/o web developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liam S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

As someone who is not able to code, I enjoy being able to leverage standard templates through Contentful to publish content quickly and efficiently. I typically use contentful to publish blogs, product updates, webinar registration pages, documents, and more - all without the incremental help of the already extremely busy web team that supports the marketing org.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Although Contentful continues to improve, I desire more standardized templates that I can use to create new web pages in an agile manner. I also desire the ability to change text and images on existing webpages without affecting the structure of the layout.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful makes it easy for non--technical users to publish content to the web using standardized templates. As a result, I, the user benefit from the ability to publish content to the web without the help of the web team.

  ### 39. One platform to rule them all

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alfonso B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

We picked Contenful over other headless CMS for a number of reasons, flexibility and integration options being the main ones. We had to cater for a very specific scenario presenting complexity around single sign on, multi-tennanted data architecture and integration with other data APIs, all with the goal of allowing the final users to handle all of their web and mobile contents from one place. That's where Contenful and it's framework(s) really shine!

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Pricing model could be improved in order to allow access to the full functionality during development stage without impacting the financial side too much, especially for startups or prototype-stage projects.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing one unified place where customers of our platform can login and manage all aspects of their content and sales lifecycle, in a seamlessly integrated workflow and UI.

  ### 40. contentful has been great so far for publishing content

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoe A. | Content Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

being able to copy a document, instead of having to create one from scratch

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

formatting of tables, would like more options to customize content

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helping us publish our content

  ### 41. With contentful for 5 Years now - build an ecommerce shop + cms for multiple platforms on it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian M. | Head of Marketing Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

a headless cms with an awesome UI to configure content types that does not struggle on a larger scale. Good APIs for an easy integration in web, very good availability, no noticable service interruptions in all those years. EU company (berlin based) which in the beginning made negotiations and contact easy (no time zone difference, understanding for our market ...)

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Some important features for us got added late and through apps instead of a more in depth implementation, during those 5 years we have the 5th customer success manager and 3rd sales contact. All of them were and are great but as a customer you wonder about the fluctuation of employees in that regard. It seems that management has shifted to the US during the last couple of years with less understanding and interest for our market (tourism) in the EU.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Distributing content accross multiple platforms (web, ios, android) on a larger scale and storing lots of content in Contentful like ecommerce data and much more.

  ### 42. User-friendly and Intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

it is the first time I am ursing a headless CMS. I found Contentful to be really intuitive and user friendly, even for beginners. The guide that is provided is really helpful and I liked the fact that you can find everything on the same page. The team was also available for my questions and ready to help. thank you!

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

when uploading images, the quality from the original picture can be reduced

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the website was transfered from an organization to ours, the fact that Contentful is intuitive, even for beginners, was really useful in implementing the required changes rapidly.

  ### 43. Reliable CMS for online shop

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

- Contentful can act as source of truth for contents for whole online shop
- There is Locale support which allows having content in multiple languages
- Third party apps are easy to install in contentful
- Its very easy to create content models that suits the needs from the Contentful Web UI
- Unpublished contents can be accessed using the preview api
- Content models changes can be experimented in different environments

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

- It's a bit tricky to get an overview of the content tree
- There is no grouping for Content models. If the usecase requires certain type of content models to fall under a group, grouping needs to be hacked using naming conventions that would mimic grouping
- Experimental features sometime go thorugh breaking pages which would make upgrades tricky. One of the example is Compose. There were some content model changes for page and page settings which made upgrade to next version a bit tricky

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful serves as a source of truth for all contents of a web application. We have integrated our Translations Management System (TMS) to Contentful. This allows us to dynamically trigger an translations in TMS when new contents are added to Contentful and eventually export the translated content to Contentful. Once all the content is place we preview the content using preview API, and once happy with the preview we publish the content to make available in the main website.

  ### 44. A good product, but doesn't scale very well

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Completely open content modelling. Contentful allows to create our own content models and provides a UI to our non-technical colleagues to build entire pages in our website without any engineering interaction. The super-flexible validation options helps us ensure Contentful's data is always up to date.

Contentful's APIs are amazing, they are fast, and they allow to do anything that can be done in the UI, from fetching data to editing content models and even visual settings of the UI.

The Contentful CDN supports fetching assets with dynamic resizing, optimization, and format conversion. That has been very helpful to improve our website's performance.

The permissions are very flexible and granular.

The Compose app is a very good improvement over the traditional Contentful UI, which simplifies a lot the model for content editors: editors can only see top-level entries and all the structure is rendered in a flat structure in one page. The publish button shows an easy UI to publish all children components.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Contentful does not scale very well:
* The UI became painfully slow, probably because of the size of our space
* The contentful environments are extremely limited. We can only create copies of another environment, and after that there's no way to merge the content back. In the end, content editors don't use that feature and end up creating a lot of drafts/updated entries that never get published.
* Linking to the issue above, there's no easy way to undo changes. We have to open a separate Compare popup. After undoing changes the history disappears and there's no way to go back to where you were.
* Our space is full of dead and orphan entries. There is no way to identify these in the Contentful UI, so we ended up building a lot of tooling for that ourselves.
* The Contentful UI is very complex for content editors (nesting in many levels, hard to publish a page and all children). They created the Compose app, which solves that problem, but it's a separate app and there's no way to enforce editors to use it so I've found it very hard to encourage people to use it, especially because everybody lands in the traditional UI after login.

I think the Contentful team is making great steps towards improving these issues. An example is the Studio app, which is a much better UI for editors. However, it will be released as a paid app. It feels to me that basic features like that should not be paid extra.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Building a website that can be managed by non-technical colleagues
* Managing permissions of who can change certain types of pages
* Their CDN allows hosting materials and optimize them

  ### 45. We built an accessible website by using Contentful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan Jaap d. | Accessibility Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I like how Contentful forces you to think about the way the content is structured. You need to create a Content Model for each different piece of content.

For example, we built a website that is heavily based on code samples. We have created a CodeSample object, which contains one or more CodeBlock objects. A CodeBlock is written in a certain ProgrammingLanguage, and that ProgrammingLanguage is available on a certain Platform. This setup allowed us to write multi-platform code samples in a structured way.

Our team also liked that Contentful comes with a GraphQL API to retrieve content in any way you can think of. Plus, we saved time by using the Typescript client library in our project.

It also helped us a lot that the features of Contentful are documented extensively.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

When we started using Contentful, there was no support for tables. This was a big downside for us, as we heavily used tables in our old website. You had to create your UI extension to create tables. In April 2022 we were delighted to read that Contentful now supported Tables in Rich Text.

When you have a lot of content, finding the exact piece of content you need to edit can become difficult. It helps to filter based on Content Model and to write good internal names for your content pieces.

You often need to click through multiple levels of content to reach the piece you are looking for. Each level overlays the other, once you have 5+ levels it becomes challenging to remember each underlaying layer in the editor.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful helped us to structure our content, and is now helping us to keep our website accessible because we have full control over the data which needs to be entered. For example, we have made it opt-out to write an alt-text for each image, instead of opt-in like most Content Management Systems.

  ### 46. Contentful CMS: A Powerful, Extensible Solution with a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Flexibility and extensibility: Contentful's App Framework allows for seamless creativity.

Scalability: With a robust infrastructure, Contentful can handle large amounts of data and high levels of traffic, making it suitable for businesses of all sizes.

Versioning and localization: Contentful offers robust content versioning and localization features, making it easy to manage content in multiple languages and revert to previous versions when needed.

Content modeling: Contentful allows users to create custom content models and define relationships between different content types, making it suitable for complex data structures.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Steep learning curve: Contentful's data modeling approach and the use of the GraphQL API can be challenging for teams without prior experience in these areas. This can lead to a slower adoption rate and potentially longer project timelines.

Complexity errors in GraphQL API: When having deeply nested data, you will definitely get that 11000 GraphQL complexity error. We had to spend a lot of time working around that error.

When it comes to GraphQL, you are on your own.

Pricing: For smaller teams or organizations with limited budgets, Contentful's pricing model may be a barrier to adoption.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is designed to address various challenges faced by organizations in managing and delivering digital content across multiple platforms. We had a slow performance since understanding that new mindset is challenging.

  ### 47. An incredibly powerful CMS with many trap door decisions

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

How customizable it is. You can either use it lightly or make it like a really complex powerhouse database.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

How early decisions you make about your content models can make or break your experience.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows our sites authors/editors to contribute without needing to write code.

  ### 48. One of the better CMS I've used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jae H. | Director of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Having all our content managed outside our codebase but structured in a way that most folks can easily navigate to make changes is a timesaving benefit. Managing content in this way takes stress off the dev team and allows others to have control on when content gets published.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

There's definitely a learning curve for most people, technical and non-technical alike. There's only a draft and published state, which is a bit limiting because sometimes we want to archive something but we'd haev to revert it to draft form.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful helps us manage content development and deployment for our website without engaging the engineering team or waiting on new releases. That keeps our dev team focused and keeps our non-technical team happy to have some control on when their content gets refreshed.

  ### 49. Best CMS for Content As A Service Implementation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish M. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

As I have worked on other CMS systems such as Wordpress and AEM, I like contentful for its easy-to-use interface. As it follows the content model approach, you can create your own data structure and then use it without any restrictions on Data Set. Content Editing and retrieving the authored content is straightforward. Pricing is justifiable with respect to the features it offers.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Sometimes it has a learning curve for people migrating from traditional CMS. You might need to use the different screens to author the content and preview it. Page linking is not possible, you might need to build custom data set.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to author content for our website, we do have a plan to use the exact data for our Android App which is in the pipeline. It has helped us to organize our data and secure it.

  ### 50. allows you to reach more customers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ronald b. | Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Professionally I must add that the tool is quite necessary for operations in terms of content management in a complete way, I like it mainly because I do not consider it a difficult tool to use or expensive, its functions allow you to create a more specific content model of ours. brand as well as being precise and punctual when giving some type of message and that it captures the attention of our clients, allows us to create tickets at our convenience and be more customizable

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

In general, I have not presented any option that requires this system or that I consider does not work well, it is easy to understand it, so it is much easier for a professional to work with it.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we talked about having a system that would improve operations, the need arose to have a program that would allow content to be shared quickly and it is something that this system has allowed in recent years, as well as how to distribute it quickly.
