## Contentful Reviews
  ### 1. One of the better CMS I've used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jae H. | Director of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Having all our content managed outside our codebase but structured in a way that most folks can easily navigate to make changes is a timesaving benefit. Managing content in this way takes stress off the dev team and allows others to have control on when content gets published.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

There's definitely a learning curve for most people, technical and non-technical alike. There's only a draft and published state, which is a bit limiting because sometimes we want to archive something but we'd haev to revert it to draft form.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful helps us manage content development and deployment for our website without engaging the engineering team or waiting on new releases. That keeps our dev team focused and keeps our non-technical team happy to have some control on when their content gets refreshed.

  ### 2. Best CMS for Content As A Service Implementation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish M. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

As I have worked on other CMS systems such as Wordpress and AEM, I like contentful for its easy-to-use interface. As it follows the content model approach, you can create your own data structure and then use it without any restrictions on Data Set. Content Editing and retrieving the authored content is straightforward. Pricing is justifiable with respect to the features it offers.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Sometimes it has a learning curve for people migrating from traditional CMS. You might need to use the different screens to author the content and preview it. Page linking is not possible, you might need to build custom data set.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to author content for our website, we do have a plan to use the exact data for our Android App which is in the pipeline. It has helped us to organize our data and secure it.

  ### 3. allows you to reach more customers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ronald b. | Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Professionally I must add that the tool is quite necessary for operations in terms of content management in a complete way, I like it mainly because I do not consider it a difficult tool to use or expensive, its functions allow you to create a more specific content model of ours. brand as well as being precise and punctual when giving some type of message and that it captures the attention of our clients, allows us to create tickets at our convenience and be more customizable

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

In general, I have not presented any option that requires this system or that I consider does not work well, it is easy to understand it, so it is much easier for a professional to work with it.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we talked about having a system that would improve operations, the need arose to have a program that would allow content to be shared quickly and it is something that this system has allowed in recent years, as well as how to distribute it quickly.

  ### 4. Contentful is an amazing headless CMS tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The best aspects of this tool are its modern and uncluttered UI, the multiple options to connect your app code to Contentful and the excellent communication that the Contentful team has provided us. Additionally, its performance has been on point and the team has always been quick to answer our questions.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I would say I haven't had any real issue with it, it does have a bit of a learning curve, but the interface is pretty simple and the experts support has been great so it's hard to find any fault to it.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Decouple the code from the content in our applications, allowing us to modify the content and adapt it to different countries and clients without altering the code of the applications.

  ### 5. A modern CMS, full of potential

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiffany I. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Coming from an older stagnant CMS, Contenful is a modern headless CMS that's easy to use. In the few short months that I've been using it, I've already seen more improvements and new features added behind the scenes than our past CMS provided in a MAJOR update.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I have run into issues with updating content, leaving it as a draft and not publishing, "session bugs" as one dev described it. Though I feel confident that this and other problems won't be very long-lived as I've seen issues fixed since I began using Contentful

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a modern, adaptive headless CMS that was easy enough for anyone to contribute to. The ease of use has allowed stakeholders to contribute without concern over system breakage.

  ### 6. Extensive usage with lots of dynamic changes and flexibilities showed the stability of the system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Clean architectural approach, fast API, image optimization, new pricing and great support.
Great to see how the system evolves and improves. More apps are incoming to the market.
Very easy to extend and add additional functionality if necessary.
Cross-spaces - great thing to have.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Some limitations for UI changes,
Many potential improvements to fields management are not there yet and rely on extensions, like conditional fields etc.
Content types usage limitation - much better with new prices

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing Content team with roles & permission, managing markets/locales. Providing clean and stable forms for managers to work with. It also allow us to limit them from changes to the front end.
Great image optimisation and much better workflows comparing to previous CMS experience.

  ### 7. Flexible but Complex

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayo S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I like that once you create a module or component it's easy to reuse and modify

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Sometimes too rigid, and I don't like clicking through a million layers to get to a component.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a complex website that contentful allows many types of users to keep updated

  ### 8. forget the hassle with managing content!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Art B. | Conversion Rata Optimisation Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I love how easy is to change the content using contentful. If you know how to use lego bricks, you will be able to build content!

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

its not contenful fault at all, but the page sometimes is cached, and i struggle a few times with making changes as i couldn't see them live on site.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

if you like me: no html, no css, no dev skills and you never knew what is <div> or <span>, then you will love the way how contentfull works.

  ### 9. Clunky and complicated

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The level of customization -- like being able to add helpful hints to tell people what kind of data goes in each field.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Using Contentful requires a different mindset and it takes some time to understand how all the pieces fit together. It's possible that some of my frustration comes from my company's instance of it -- I haven't used it in any other jobs. Many tasks feel like they should take way less effort, it's hard to get things to look nice, and it's easy to accidentally make errors. It feels like way too much clicking to achieve simple tasks. I find search less helpful than I'd like.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to update the website, add new pages, and edit pages.

  ### 10. Great headless CMS with many features out of the box and a great API and CLI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dheeraj S. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I like that Contentful has a user-friendly interface, the ability to create and manage content in multiple languages, and its robust API, making it easy to integrate with other applications and services. Additionally, Contentful offers a flexible and scalable architecture that allows users to quickly and easily create and manage content for websites, apps, and other digital channels.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Its learning curve can be steep for users new to content management systems. Additionally, some users may find the platform complex and overwhelming, with many features and options that can be difficult to navigate.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have multiple pages editable by many cross-functional teams at my company. We sometimes want to keep things open to some groups and not for other groups. Contentful has a good Role Based Access Management approach that helps us keep the gates in place.

  ### 11. Simple content management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandria S. | Managing Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The overall user-friendliness is my favorite contentful feature. When I first began using the application, I required very little walk-through during training and find it extremely easy to train new hires.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I wish updates were reflected sooner. I know it doesn't actually take long. Still, when our company requests report updates, we typically hold an affiliated email until updates are reflected. This scenario is typically an issue when updating pdf attachments. (And really only an issue because we're pestered by team members who do not use contentful as they believe we have not made the requested updates until reflected on their end.)

There are two additional hangups I've encountered:

1. When uploading a large photo asset that I want to resize within Contentful they often time out/glitch using the resize feature and I will resize outside of contentful, then re-upload. This is a minor issue.
2. Strikethroughs are inconsistently displayed, sometimes correctly and sometimes showing the <s></s> html.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best thing contentful solved was the ability to stop using an extremely outdated WordPress. We were legitimately counting down the days until we made the switch!

  ### 12. Contentful's professional services team made our platform migration a breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful's professional services team helped us quickly and efficiently migrate our content from Drupal. They were highly responsive to questions, suggested solutions to complex challenges, and were a pleasure to work with all around. I can confidently say that our re-platforming efforts would've taken much longer with many more roadblocks if we had not had their support.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

There's very little I disliked! Obviously, they were a support mechanism and couldn't do the work for us, so we still had to figure out some problems on our own. However, there was never a problem that I couldn't address with them, and they were able to assist as much as possible.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous CMS was not meeting our needs. It was laborious to make content updates and imposed limitations on our digital experience. By contrast, Contentful's content platform allows for a seamless authoring experience that can scale across all of our digital properties.

  ### 13. Useful and very easy to use.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It is a straightforward site to use when publishing content. Everything is easy to find and very self-explanatory. It can all be accessed within a few clicks of a button.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

If you are looking to publish a large number of content with identical titles, or accidentally send an incorrect version of something over, you can't rectify this without having to title it with a number of spaces at the end.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is making it easy to be able to publish content to a number of locations on a website without confusion and with a lot of simplicity. It is also something that is easy to train other people on.

  ### 14. Great platform with occasional loading problems

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Version history for content entries is helpful and intuitive. Options for referencing between entries are easy to understand and manage. Overall, using a headless system enables effective iteration.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

It would be helpful if there were a version history for content model changes—in the current state, it's challenging to track what changed when dev identifies that something has broken.

Loading multiple entries at once often results in inaccurate error messages that go away when the pages are reloaded.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business needed a better foundation for managing content in our help center. Contentful has effectively allowed us to move toward a "write once and publish everywhere" approach.

  ### 15. Next generation content platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is a simple and highly available system. It runs smooth, gives you endless possibilities, offers structured yet creative ways of working, and most importantly the time from thought to launch can be very short.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I find Contentful to have very few downsides. Support can be hard to reach if you are a spoiled type, API response times can be somewhat buggy once per quarter, and the awesomeness can be tough to believe when talking to new stakeholders.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful gives us a possibility of working acrozz platforms, projects and departments while bringing awesome content to our many markets very fast. We have gained a lot from using this.

  ### 16. Intuitive and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

As a headless CMS, you are able to update and create content without any risk. This is helpful when the tasks are shared within an organization of people with different levels of knowledge of website administration.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Very little ability to edit the main styles unless you are very skilled programmer. I would integrate a basic customization area where an admin can handle the basic look features.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization is large and many people are involved in the creation / editing od content. Contenful helps us with a clean interface and ease to use

  ### 17. Contentful has enabled us to deliver multi-lingual, multi-market content at scale

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ralph U. | Senior Digital Experience Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is very flexible and has a great ecosystem of quality apps and a massive community of developers supporting it. For content managers, it's the best content editing experience for enterprise platforms on the market.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Very little, actually. The product team is very open about its roadmap and involves customers in early access programs to ensure the solution meets their needs. The entry-level plan is perhaps a bit limited if you're looking to get started with headless, MACH-based solutions.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing a multilocal, multilingual enterprise platform with a small and agile team. Launching new campaigns, uploading or modifying content, distributing it across channels, and making your platform work harder for the brand are straightforward. The API-first approach also enables a lot of integrations with best-in-class solutions.

  ### 18. Super useful and user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie M. | Marketing Coordinator Associate , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It´s an easy tool to help you create and/or modify websites. The best feature in my opinion? the autosave, you can count on Contentful to have your back if anything happens as all your work will be there where you left it. It has a friendly interface that allows you to work on the platform even if you´re new to it (I find it to be intuitive).

Apiece of advice: Make sure to publish changes before publishing ;)

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Sometimes things are "hidden" in the pages e.g you need to modify a specific section within the page, you´ll have to click several times in a section before you find it and you need to pay attention to what you´re modifying as it is really easy to make changes that will reflect in other linked pages.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accelerating the webpage creation without stealing time from the developers for creating and updating pages for resources/assets as this allows us to do it via self-service.

**Official Response from Ruchika Sharma:**

> Hey Melanie,
Thank you so much for your kind words. You can definitely count on us. We count ourselves lucky for customers like you. I'll share your feedback with the relevant team.
Have a good day!

  ### 19. Happy with Contentful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russ G. | Senior Manager, Content Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I've used many CMS before and Contentful is one of the best. We have a very complex content production process with many global sites and locales and Contentful handles it all very well. Also seems to be easy for our developers to build on top of. As a Content Marketer myself, it allows my team to produce a variety of content and is reliable.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I'd like to be able to view more than 40 entries on a single page to have an easier view of a lot of content on one page. Also the ability to export to a CSV a list of entries by their URL so we can have a list of articles/entries directly from Contentful.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful helps solve the issue of producing content a global scale with a distributed team. It also helps validate checks within content, and allow developers to build on the platform to customize to our needs.

  ### 20. One of the most capable and stable content managers.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert H. | Weather Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

- The ease of use;
- It is very unlikely to experience a crash, freeze or some unknown error while using Contentful;
- Modifying an existing article or writing and publishing a new one is very easy;
- The possibility of sending pushes (notificiations) to mobile devices;
- More stable compared to other content managers;
- Working with the different versions is excellent as well;

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

- Uploading and editing the details (title, description, link, alt attribute etc.) of an image is not so straightforward and probably requires too many clicks - It would be helpful if the image workflow process were redesigned.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Trying to edit an already published article is much easier with Contentful;
- Sending a mobile notification (push) only to users in a particular geographical area;
- Recovering older versions of an article;

  ### 21. Improve development times and content management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jhonder Q. | Frontend Technical Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

UI it's really beautiful and the experience is pleasant to the users. Also, it helps the productivity of the teams in general.
From a dev perspective (my role) helps a lot, cause we don't need to be careful of the content in code, so we just leave the responsibility to the content authors and this improves development time.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Sometimes the UI doesn't load changes in real-time so we need to reload the page to see the changes. If we make changes in nested content types, no button allows us to publish all the changes at the same time and we must accept each one individually (sometimes it is a bit annoying, although it is not a big problem)

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows managing the content of the page without the need to make changes in code. This allows speeding up content management processes, and allows the team to make changes in production without the need to make changes in production and deploy them in different environments before seeing the final changes in production.

  ### 22. Great overall experience with the platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Razvan M. | Technical Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It is simple and flat. It was easy to adapt. Most of our developers enjoy using Contentful, easy-to-build or find already-built Apps (widgets; you guys chose a confusing name).

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I do not have something in particular that I dislike. Maybe taking the flat structure a level too high. I would like to have folders at least for the assets. It would make organizing easier when used from other places over the Assets API. When using your cloud UI, it works great, but its quite a nightmare when we have to use that in our applications directly.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very simple, but powerful tool. Makes it easier to integrate in our current setup. Especially for assets its a game changer. Now our products are in sync so we only need to use one set of assets.

  ### 23. An easy course for promoting sites

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristina J. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful guarantees that amateurs don't need to stress over overseeing and redoing content. It is adaptable. Reproducing the structures has never been an issue with Contentful. It is a cloud-based CMS and has a solid content tool.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Taking everything into account, it doesn't offer palatable channels. It is costly for presenting functionalities. More updates should be made to meet the contenders. Also, a public guide ought to be broadcast for impending highlights in the deliveries that are to be made. Recommendations:

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful brings to the table a demonstrated connection point that is natural and easy to understand for each client, in any event, for those people who do not have experience with creating sites. It requires no kind of coding. It permits different groups to team up with one another on a specific undertaking/task.

  ### 24. A flexible multi channel content management system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nelson F. | Sotfware Engenier, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Something that I like about this tool is that it allows, in an understandable and, above all, reliable way, the possibility of sharing content on any platform without having to activate or integrate other systems. This cloud-based tool has a good alert system, without leaving aside security with its access controls, this being a good multi-channel marketing tool available in several languages

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

My experience with the tool has not had any problems, it has quite sophisticated functions and is aimed at new professionals, this system allows the content scheduling processes to be more precise and more reliable in the times that the professional schedules

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What I like the most about this tool is its versatility and the ease it shows from the first time they register; the tool allows you to distribute the contents, it also allows you to create the entries that are required without problems

  ### 25. Good software for web content

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Ease of use to update information. It is easy to preview new data.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Adding existing content requires too many clicks. Also, adding new rows to the current list requires clunky dragging, and the row often gets added to the wrong place by accident.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to update the information displayed on our website so that the public can see our roster of clinicians that are available to them.

  ### 26. Contentful is a powerful, extensible platform that continues to get better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

What I love most about Contentful is how quickly you can prototype a solution and get it production ready.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Contentful has a lot of nooks and crannies that need attention and polish. As you get more advanced with the platform and your custom integrations, you will find blockers and sharp edges to things I believe their product managers need to recognize and prioritize.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Operating content platforms at enterprise scale, Contentful has solved our constant waste of resources building custom CMS solutions in our various micro services. Uniting many atomic, independent teams on one content platform is no easy task, but the approachability and flexibility of Contentful has drastically reduced the fatigue for both our engineering teams and our content editing teams.

  ### 27. Amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron S. | Module Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful has been awesome to work with. I set it up to host the content for my software development company and it has been a breeze to use and create articles to generate inbound traffic. I've talked to a few staff members for help and they're always super quick and friendly. Fantastic company to work with so far!

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Nothing! It's been a great tool for my business and I haven't run into any problems using it so far. The API for JS was very easy to use and took me only a day to integrate into my website.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful makes my life so much easier by allowing me to create & manage content for my page without having to modify the source code. In the past, I would edit these pages manually and if a customer wanted an edit, I would have to go modify the code to match their content. Contentful allows me to hand a log in to these customers so that they can easily edit, but also allows me to write one page that creates a shared template for common content. It's really quite amazing :)

**Official Response from Ruchika Sharma:**

> Dear Cameron, such amazing feedbacks are a motivation for all of us at Contentful. Thanks for your kind words.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I haven't really run across something that I don't like that would be related to Contentful.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to update the Website with ease and allows others to get in and make updates without having to go through a lot of training.

  ### 29. Flexible API and simple user interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Their API and user interface is intuitive and easy to use. Both developers and business users at my company can use their software without requiring much help from our internal IT team. We built and awesome Reactjs site backed by a Contentful CMS system.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I wish it was easier to change back to a previous version of certain content. This feature would really allow for easier mistake handling when changes needed to be made quickly.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Contentful as the headless CMS backend for my company's primary website. This allows us to create a custom frontend without being restricted to plugins or other bespoke frontend liimitations. Like Wordpress, but much more flexible and customizable and developer friendly because you don't have to learn PHP.

  ### 30. Contentful for CRM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Easy to use and looks great. Great capacity to build different templates and capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Sometimes you dont see formatting errors in the backend and only see once content is live.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the need for a developer for all web changes

  ### 31. Useful/Pleasant

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan K. | Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It is one of the best "places"/platforms to create online content. Its user interface is well built and helpful and - which is no small feat for people who have to work with it for many an hour - the overall look and feel and the graphics are pleasant to look at.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

It took a bit to get used to the interface, but once you got used to it, it becomes very intuitive. But "at first sight" it appears to be a bit confusing (it actually isn't but still...)

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It brings a lot of different "outlets" together. Newsletter, Articles, Audio. This helps immensely to save on time and staff because you have it ALL in one place.

**Official Response from Ruchika Sharma:**

> Hello Stephan,
Thanks for the awesome review. We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you.
Cheers!

The level of customization we got with it. Also, it's not simple, but all the team got to understand, and Marketing is now free to create content fast.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The nested approach of components is what was more complext to explain to the team. And it has sometimes created problems, especially during the first weeks.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling all teams create and modify our webpage, without needing any dev work.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 34. the goal in our company was to do a revamp of our legacy websites, we decided to use contentful so

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The possibility to have multiple spaces, and the potential to handle multiple languages

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The default contentful long text editor is very limited, it forces us too integrated some application like tinyMCE which is paid

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we have many brands, Contentful lets us have a solid backend code, so we don't have to re-code each time we want to sort out a new brand; we can handle it on Contentful, much faster and less time consiming

  ### 35. Simple and easy to use CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rabia C. | Digital Production Manager, Telecommunications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful is super easy to navigate and manage structurally. The blogs and developer docs are so easy to follow and use for build.
The account management and support teams are so helpful in figuring out the issues and helping resolve them quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The search functionality within COntentful can use some attention and care. It's too broad when it comes to search and, at times makes it difficult to find stuff with exact words.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is mainly helping us deliver reusable and scalable components, making it less developer dependent and increasing the speed to market for any business outcome.

  ### 36. "Contentful has been amazing to work with. "

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moad R. | Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful has been amazing to work with. I put it in a position to have the substance for my product advancement organization, and it has been a breeze to utilize and make articles to create inbound traffic. I've conversed with a couple of staff individuals for help and they're in every case really fast and well-disposed. fantastic organization to work with up until this point. It permits the formation of virtual gatherings in a computer-generated simulation or metaverse tool, permitting our workers and designers to expand their imaginations and study this innovation.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The setup was not all that simple and having the option to speak with the specialized group was likewise a troublesome errand. However, we had the option to make it happen and begin utilizing it. A few clients are finding it a bit challenging to adjust to computer-generated reality. That is the reason we are involving it for the second time just in the imaginative division and with clients from that equivalent office. Having a rapid web association is key for the tool to appropriately work.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful makes my life a ton simpler by permitting me to make and oversee content for my page without changing the source code. I would alter these pages physically, and on the off chance that a client needed a change, I would need to go change the code to match their substance. Contentful permits me to hand a sign-in to these clients so they can undoubtedly change it but additionally permits me to think of one page that makes a common layout for normal substance. It's very astonishing. Inside the tool, it permits the formation of symbols, which act as though they were cooperating face-to-face, having the option to tweak them as indicated by the actual attributes wanted. Even though we are using it for the second time in the creative division, we recommend this program to all organizations that need to improve and make a stride past their rivals, since it will make them stick out and a lot more clients will move toward their administrations and items.

  ### 37. Contentful works great for us

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Konstantin T. | IT Projectmanager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

We as an NGO have the problem to find great software to build our app and have it at an affordable price.

Contentful offers all functionalities we need for our basic application and is highly customizable.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

It is a little tougher in the beginning to learn everything you need to know about the tool.

But when you come from a little CMS experience, you will get along quite quickly

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful offers the chance to build custom datamodels, so we can structure our content and sites in a way it is tailored for our need. That is the biggest upside.

**Official Response from Ruchika Sharma:**

> Hello Konstantin,
Glad to know that Contentful is working great for you and you're able to structure the content as per your business needs. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. This is going to help us become better. :)

Have a wonderful day!

  ### 38. Still in love with Contentful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose Francisco H. | Content Author Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

I love the authoring experience in Contentful; it's very flexible for composing structured content. It's easy to teach the platform when content types follow best practices, and learning it is effortless.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

I think that they need to address competitors more directly. Maybe the devs don't love it like before?

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are continually improving the UI and Releases Workflows.

  ### 39. Clean user-friendly interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Super clean and fast interface. Easy to build content types and content models. Fantastic community/free plan that helps get started.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

some internal search capabilities are a little clunky

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Headless cms which allows easy content editing and addition, super fast website and improvements in Core VItals and Google rankings

  ### 40. Fast ramp up - but fast to reach the limitations too

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The self-service is easily understandable and also the Schema definition. Setting it up for a small team is quick and easy, and the APIs, especially the Media APIs are very powerful.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The limitations. The 48 content types are limited across all plans except enterprise. This is a hard limiter to modular design and requires thinking ahead and designing components in a generic way for them to work. The generic approach might impact the content editors' experience negatively.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multichannel Content Management. Since it is headless and we can access everything by API (Rest and GraphQL) we can access the data in the form we want (GraphQL) and reuse it across different channels (app and web).

  ### 41. Good for individual projects, not good for team or enterprise

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline N. | Digital Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

It was good to have a free version. We benefited massively from going SaaS and headless - having struggled with the overheads of Episerver (Optimizely DXP) that was very expensive to upgrade and maintain etc. due the PaaS hosting.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Very clunky. Almost zero support. And lacks the basic collaboration features that I expected.
Pricing model is complex to the point that the reason we chose Contentful (Cheap and Easy) was no longer valid - as Contentful prices escalates quickly for multiple spaces (prod, uat) and usage. We actually moved to a more enterprise and transparent offering with Contentstack.

**Recommendations to others considering Contentful:**

Consider how you want to use Contentful in the long term. Pricing and features can be limiting if you have a team working on the CMS.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi-channel content orchestration. The output of moving to a headless CMS from Episerver (Optimizely DXP) has been massive. No upgrades and lower overheads, with faster roll-out of content and campaigns.

  ### 42. Our choice for headless CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

The ease of use is the best part. We have users from different teams with different experiences and tech skills using Contentful and everyone is able to quickly do all fixes and updates for the website.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

We are using Gatsby for our website and we have some issues with preview builds - we'd need to wait for 10-15 minutes to see the preview. We've fixed it now with a new Gatsby Cloud update.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our website is built on Gatsby and before Contentful only engineers could do changes to the website. Contentful enabled our marketing team to own a marketing website and be able to make all of the updates much faster.

  ### 43. A great headless CMS platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clement L. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

What I liked best about Contentful was the ability to make changes throughout the entire website due to its headless format.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The learning curve is a bit steep, and depending on what features you'd like, having a developer on the team is a must.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful allows us to optimize SEO with ease.

  ### 44. Awesome Website Builder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen M. | Director of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful's free version is relatively easy to use and awesomely robust compared to the WordPress alternative I've been using. I like how sleek and streamlined the end result is, and the learning curve isn't too steep. Makes converting website platforms a fairly headache-free process.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

In some ways, the UI seems more geared toward developers and not average/generalist users and marketing folks. For example, it's not always easy to preview changes as they'd appear to the end user and sometimes I have to work on a hunch of what will look good in the end. But none of this would prevent me from using Contentful going forward.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WordPress has fallen out of favor as our website builder because of its known performance issues, especially its slow load time. WordPress has become too cumbersome and clunky with all its plugins (which, ironically, were developed to streamline the UX and UI), leading me to seek out other options, which is how I found Contentful.

  ### 45. Contentful is the most interactive way to bring remote employees together

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dio F. | Managing Director, Digital Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Allows the creation of virtual meetings in a virtual reality or metaverse platform, allowing our employees and developers to increase their creativity and learn more about this new technology. Within the platform, it allows the creation of avatars, which behave as if they were interacting in person, being able to customize them according to the physical characteristics desired. It also allows the creation of conferences, where the number of people that can enter is much higher, being able to dictate talks, meetings, courses, workshops, etc., in a different space than usual.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

The configuration was not so easy and being able to communicate with the technical team was also a difficult task, but we were able to do it and start using it. Some clients are finding it a bit difficult to adapt to virtual reality, that's why we are using it for the moment only in the creative department and with clients from that same department. Having a high speed internet connection is key for the platform to work properly.

**Recommendations to others considering Contentful:**

Although we use it for the moment in the creative department, we recommend this program to all companies that want to innovate and take a step beyond their competitors, because it will make them stand out and many more customers will approach their services and products.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started using this software in the creative department of the company with remote employees and clients who were out of town. We wanted to innovate by using a program where we could hold virtual meetings, conferences and seminars, all on a metaverse platform. The result was much more than we expected, as the clients noticed our ingenuity and creativity in using this type of program. Our employees feel much more motivated to develop all their creativity and ingenuity and it is giving us as a company, to know and experiment with this type of technology, leading us to be pioneers in our industry.

**Official Response from Ruchika Sharma:**

> Hi Dio,
We are so grateful for your kind words!
Thanks for sharing your review with us and the community. We are thrilled to hear that your creative department is making the most of Contentful and it's helping you to be the pioneer in your industry. It's good that you highlighted the initial configurations hiccup and will ensure that it's shared with the team. It's always our pleasure to work with customers who take out the time to share their feedback. Thanks again, have a great day!

  ### 46. Good Platform for Growing Businesses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Contentful's platform has allowed us to easily create and modify content structures for our growing business. Contentful has been well received by our developers and content publishing teams alike. The addition of App Frameworks has been valuable for extending the default input fields and handling custom JSON data structures.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Contentful's terminology can be confusing to new users. A guide that explains the relationships between Organizations, Spaces, Roles, etc would be helpful. Additionally, the platform could benefit from a better mobile content publishing experience.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Publishing content through Contentful enables us to connect various digital products to a single content source. As our business grew, so did the platforms we needed to support. A headless product like Contentful allowed us to connect any instance to a single content source, and improved our publishing workflow.

  ### 47. An extremely incredible asset that I use in my work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariah A. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Best cloud-based content management framework. More straightforward keeping up with of items with sort of organization spaces conditions. Create straightforward by showing every one of the pages in a solitary table view

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Order show of fields when you need to plunge into the keep going kid field. No honor in refreshing the components in the rich word processor. Building the application requires a long time to make the blueprint and bootstrapping the data. Inaccessibility of channel usefulness to sift through the unused resources. Needs a ton of instances of the prescribed utilize Contentful with gatsby.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are keeping up with the items on the cloud. Simple see of the changes. Gives showcasing group great adaptability. Great information organizing design with the Richtext supervisor. Keeping up with every one of the resources in the cloud.

**Official Response from Ruchika Sharma:**

> Hi Mariah,

We are so grateful for your kind words!

It's always our pleasure to work with customers who take out the time to share their honest feedback. Words like these motivates us to be better. Thanks again, have a great day!

  ### 48. high quality software with great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

the software itself is very functional and user friendly. both customer support and documentation (learning materials etc.) are top notch.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

it is missing some basic functionality such as superscripts in text editor
there are no tools available to help editors collaborate on a given text itself (such as change tracking)

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentful is allowing us to structure our data in a way that allows us to service complex business requirements for our front-end digital solution

  ### 49. Good starter platform

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Quick to get going, user-friendly UI, flexible content model.

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

Less ideal for more serious or mid-sized startups, or plans seem tailored to a different type of business. Hard limit of 25 users is ridiculous as only option is to upgrade to enterprise which is way beyond our needs. CDN price is baked into the price, so not only are you overpaying if you want to use your own CDN, there's also no real built-in support for using your own asset library and/or CDN.

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and flexible CMS to easily collaborate on content.

  ### 50. helps our teams do more

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentful?**

Lets our developers and product teams work seamlessly and efficiently together, which frees both up to do what they do best. Also help integrate our marketing efforts creating alignment across the organization

**What do you dislike about Contentful?**

no issues for us so far, would have to defer to our team leads to give ideas on what they would like to see in terms of new features or functionalities. Anything which creates more alignment and visibility on what each part of the org is doing is good

**What problems is Contentful solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aligning engineering, product and marketing teams so don't need to duplicate efforts across organization and everyone knows where and how their pieces fits together
