"Fast API media uploads and URL transformations, with clear 30-day credit tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cloudinary?

What I like best about Cloudinary is how effortlessly it handles media uploads, storage, and on-the-fly URL image transformations for my web and mobile chat application. Integrating the API keys with a React frontend and a C#/.NET backend took very little setup, and the Dynamic folders mode makes organizing user-uploaded chat media and profile avatars super clean without complex backend file-handling code. I also really appreciate the main dashboard's real-time Usage Overview—being able to clearly monitor our 30-day image impressions, transformations, bandwidth in megabytes, and total storage against our 25-credit monthly allowance at a single glance makes tracking resource consumption completely transparent. Automatic format optimization like WebP and AVIF delivery keeps media loading fast on mobile browsers too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudinary?

What can be a bit confusing at first with Cloudinary is understanding how the unified credit system calculates usage across different metrics—since transformations, net storage, and monthly bandwidth all draw from the same 25-credit pool, a sudden spike in high-resolution image transformations or video processing can burn through credits faster than expected if you do not configure strict eager transformation rules upfront. Also, navigating between the classic Media Library settings, Product Environment tabs, and the newer MediaFlows interface can feel slightly cluttered when you just want to quickly adjust upload presets, webhook notifications, or folder security permissions. Finally, the jump in pricing from the base 25-credit tier to the next paid plan is quite steep for smaller independent web applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
