"Cloudinary Makes Media Uploads Fast, Cost-Effective, and Easy to Integrate"

What do you like best about Cloudinary?

Cloudinary is one of the best platforms for uploading images and videos. When I was using MongoDB, I used Cloudinary to store media files as well; after I upload something, it gives me a URL that I can save in my database. The compression feature is really strong for saving bandwidth and keeping storage usage low, which helps me reduce costs and also improves loading performance.

They’re also offering features like image background removal, color enhancement, object removal, and cropping, and I’ve found these to be very good too. I can integrate it with my Node.js app and access the main features without any hassle. Overall, all the features work smoothly for me—I haven’t faced any performance issues, and the uptime of this cloud service has been very high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudinary?

The initial setup and learning curve are difficult for beginners. Also, this is not completely free: they provide some GB for free, but after that they start charging. Sometimes the charges can get high because the pricing feels unpredictable. It also gives access across all folders like AWS, and when I compare it to S3 storage pricing, this ends up being more expensive than AWS S3. also aws s3 provided much more customisation. What problems is Cloudinary solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cloudinary solves the challenges of manual media management, slow website load times, and responsive delivery across different devices. Before using it, managing image and video variations for mobile, desktop, and different screen resolutions took significant developer time, including manual work for dynamic cropping. I can integrate it in the backend (like Node.js), then use the API to upload and store my media in the cloud.
